  1. Pancrate... Jesus! I still dont know how he made it as a footballer! Much like Amdy Faye!
  2. The last I seen of him was on Soccer AM a few years ago. I think he was trying to look out for a new team and was also doing a bit on football consulting. Consulting on what? I do not know!
  3. I am bitter and I do hope! This could turn out to be another Kerion Dyer! £6million and West Ham dont actually know what he looks like!
  4. The striker we are being linked to as he has no club and is available on a free transfer. When he was young, he was very highly rated and went to the French Footballing academy like Ben Arfa, Henry, Anelka, etc. His coach actually rated him as one of the best strikers to come out of the place. Unfortunately, his career has went to the dogs. Largely disappointing scoring record but he does have a bit of pace about him. I somehow seeing us give a low wage contract until the end of the season!
  5. He just revealed to the Chronicle that Andy Carroll is out for 8 weeks which means Liverpool wont see Carroll take to the pitch before April. He then has to regain fitness and learn a new style of Liverpool play! The real frustration here is, the club knew this and still didnt add a striker when we should have done! They know that Shola is injury prone and gets more hip injuries than a pensioner! You just really couldnt make this up! We get an out of form Midfielder on Loan and we sign Ben Arfa who wont see the pitch until end of February or March!
  6. I think we will survive and not go down however we really must invest in the squad this summer with some young and hungry talent. Supporting Newcastle hasnt really been much of a joy to be fair! However it beats the time when we played pompey and went 3 goals down in the first 11 minutes! That was a long trip back to Edinburgh which was twice as long as there was rail works meaning the train went through Carlisle!
  7. Unfortunately, Floating Newcastle United on the stock market would come at another cost for the club with listing fees and new regulations for the club to follow. Mike Ashley could in theory, float the club and raise capital by selling shares in the club (Reducing his control) and then reinvest it back in to Newcastle United in the hope of the reinvestment would make Newcastle more successful and therefore raising the price of the shares. When football clubs first done this, in theory, it would work however investors quickly realised how much of a gamble this is. Share prices mostly dropped when they were first issued. Its not like in the real world where you do research on products such as machines or technology which will help you. The gamble you are investing on is players which are essentially human beings. Everyone knows that buying any player is a massive gamble gamble. Will they fit in? Will the family fit in? Whats the morale? Whats the motivation? Essentailly if the performances go down, you lose fans and products go down which results in lower share price and the chance of a loss. The other advantage of the stock market is being able to acquire other companies with your share capital as well however this wouldnt work for Newcastle United as we cant exactly merge with another company in our industry such as Arsenal as its against the rules. Its very rare that football clubs run at a profit. Only a certain few can pull it off. It would be a poor and very high risk investment. This also leaves Mike Ashley very exposed of losing the club with a takeover and he could make an extraordinary loss on it.
  8. Debut? Apologies Gee, I mean a fullish game! Not a 20 minute cameo like he does in most games!
  9. Unfortunately, I think Nile Ranger made his debut in a tough place. Fulham have one of the best defences in the league. Couple that with a horrible pitch and a lower league stadium which Newcastle just never seem to do well at. I said before the match that we would lose this one and the reasons were this. 1) Squad deflated over Carroll leaving 2) Pitch 3) Stadium Our players seem to thrive on the bigger pitches. Gives them more space to run in to. More time to pick a pass. Also in the stadium like Fulhams where the noise is very close, seems to give them a bit of a shock.

    Nolan

Liverpool through and through! Would jump at the chance to play for his boyhood idols and cherish the shirt. As for being delighted in the move, I wonder if he knows what team he captains!
  11. Best - shite Lovankrands - out of form Ranger - too raw and needs to bulk up In truth our system is well and truly to the dogs. Nolan isn't effective as a striker, can't really dominate it as a header. I wonder if Colocini could be the answer. The boy will win headers and let's face it, he can certainly finish. Other possibility is Gutierrez! He seems to have a knack of running and playing him on the last defender would give him tremendous space to run in to.
  12. Shola has a fractured cheekbone which means he will miss 5-6 weeks of football. At the same time Carroll won't be back for the same amount of time. Sorry to say people however with is resting on our laurels and not getting a striker we really have shot ourselves in the foot.
  13. Quote from the Journal this morning on the Reinvestment article
  14. To be fair, Liverpool were linked with Routaledge for £8mil!
  15. No, I assume the Carroll fee reflects only on new players we acquire with the £35mil. However assuming Wayne Routaledge goes along with Xisco, then we may have more play with it. The spanner in the works if Ashley gets the player to sign a 5 year deal, he wont see the average life and probably take another £3mil in to account for the another two years wages. Lakuka looks a good bet and judging by his stats, he could replace Andy Carroll. His goals and assist ratio are similiar HOWEVER thats only in the Belgian league. We all got to start somewhere though!
  16. Doing the maths on the Andy Carroll transfer fee and listening to Alan Pardews comments that it will be used for fees and wages for the players, it looks like Newcastle have £20million to play with. This is adjudging for 3 players on a £30k a week contract for the average lifespan of a player at a club (Averaging around 2.5-3 years) I personally think your going to see money spent on youngsters this summer in the hope of unearthing the next Walcott, Bale, etc. I am hopeful we will go down the route of getting a few more "Tiote" signings. Maybe that young Lakaku lad, if he hasnt already been snapped up by one of the big boys. Anyone have a few suspiscions on who we might bring in?
  17. According to Newspaper reports today, Steve Wraith was sent a number of text messages whereby he explains that he has been told the club want the money and have asked him to leave. They told Andy Carroll they did not want him there anymore. Sorry, however I smell a load of bull shit. If Andy Carroll wanted to stay, then he could have. He had a 5 year deal with Newcastle United and I doubt very much that he thought the club would bench him for the rest of that contract. It takes two to tango! The simple fact is, Newcastle United got an amazing bid that smelled of a desperation from Liverpool. £35mil for 11 goals in half a season of your first premiership time! SO before Andy Carroll comes out and says he was forced to leave, he wasnt! He had a 5 year contract with Newcastle and could have said NO! at anytime. The simple matter of fact is this. He felt bad for leaving Newcastle but knew £50k a week would buy a sufficient amount of tissues! Am I angry? Yes! Not at him leaving but at him coming out with the bullshit of "I love the club, I love the shirt!, I want to be a legend like my idol Shearer, I sat in the gallowgate" At the end of the day, Carroll signed the contract for liverpool knowing he could back out at anytime. He was so forced, he handed in a transfer request. Ironic how he went to the same team as Steven Gerrard who turned down Chelsea who to be fair would have gave Liverpool a good enough deal for them to accept!
  18. Elmander is being rumoured to sign for Newcastle, out of contract at the end of season. Possible a couple of million for him. Good signing if it happens. Seems to have found his feet in the premiership!
  19. Pardew saying they have contacted Spanish clubs however no real interest. He then went on to say that if nothing can be sorted by the transfer window, then they are going to try and help him get back in to the Newcastle First team. Sounds like very good man management from him.
  20. If I was Liverpool, I would make them increase the bid a little bit more before letting him go. Injury prone and hasnt really been on form since his first season in the EPL. No doubt, he is a good player on his day however as they say "Form is temporary, class is permanent"
  21. Poor Colo gets his thread nicked! I think he is becoming one of our best defenders because he is playing more and realises he cant muck about at the back with the ball like he was doing when he first came here. On the Nolan note, I am doing the funky chicken celebration every time I go pass a mackem or newcastle hater! They luuurvvvvv it!
  22. There was more to my argument if you could care to read the rest of it.
  23. I think this argument is the greatest one to have at the moment. Smith Puts in a tackle and will get in the face of the other team. He will wind them up and bring in a more agressive side to the game. Unfortunately, as a footballer, he has went down hill since injury at Manure however has been a great influence on the dressing room. Guthrie Has some great passing skills and crossing. Unfortunately, can get caught napping on the ball and sometimes just doesnt seem to care about football far less Newcastle United. Who would you prefer? Smith for me, at least he actually does something, albeit nearly break the other teams temper with some spirited challenges. I think Guthrie should be sold to another team. I would recommend him to a Championship club but never any higher! He needs to sort out his attitude but on £4k a week, I guess thats to be expected!
  24. Today you were nothing short of brilliant in almost everything you done. You read the game well and in my opinion, made up for the lack of Tiote playing with your reading of the game. Just very unfortunate, they got a lucky rebound in the 93rd minute! Man of the Match!
