  1. My heart says a 2-0 win however my head says a 1-1 draw!
  2. I hope your wrong Alex. I just cant see what Cole would offer. We would be better giving Ranger more game time than wasting £10mil on Cole.
  3. It seems almost on a weekly basis we are being linked with Carlton Cole for £10mil or so. He is always being linked as a replacement for Andy Carroll which everyone knows is a total joke. In what way will he ever replace Carroll? I suspect this is more the agent than Newcastle, trying to play on Alan Pardews past with him. I would hate to sign him especially for the £10mil we are supposedly being quoted. He is nothing more than another Shola Ameobi. Only scored 4 times in the Premiership this season. Shola and Best have a better scoring record in the league than him! If Pardew brings in Cole for anymore than £2.5mil, then we will truly have been mugged! Sunday Rag Link
  4. Why try making Sunderland in to a big club when they just dont have the fan base and never will. The area isnt built to make it one of the big clubs. They will not get support from any Newcastle based supporters. If he wanted to take a club and make it in to a super power with the fan base, then he bought the wrong club. Jesus! Sunderland? Who are they? I remember walking in the Disney World and seeing Newcastle United shirts on sale in the British Part of the Epcot centre because Americans knew us through Owen and Shearer. I doubt you would ever see that for Sunderland!
  5. Uh oh! That is the Best we seen in the championship! Tripping over himself in the box!
  6. I had a good river but its went blank now! Must have been cause I wasnt buying in to the russian women who were extremely interested in me! Anyone got a good river, pm me it!
  7. Its worth noting that Evra is 30 in May and Fergie is looking to replace him with the younger enrique!
  8. To the guy with kids in his pic - kitman! No, I am newcastle fan. Been to the gallowgate many a time. Big clubs are interested in our players, it's a forum! Discuss! Kevin - at the begining of this season we were expected to struggle and be nothing more than the whipping boys. We have picked up some very credible results against arsenal, villa, mackems, chelsea and Liverpool! At least we have exceeded all expectations! If we had held results against Sunderland and spurs along with rightfully getting three points against man city last year we would be talking europe! Caught offside arent the only ones to quote this. Chronicle have quoted it along with AC Milan being interested in Enrique! French guy was to replace Jonas! Syvian marveaux or however you spell it!
  9. Looks like Fergie lining up Enrique for Manure for £12mil and Tiote for a similar amount. Amazing to think when we arrived here in August they said we were a crap, newly promoted team. Now we have a team that the big four seem to be scouting on a regular basis. It would not surprise me if Nolan and Barton are being scouted by those chasing the big four. I can't see how Enrique will resist Manure, sure we have a great team spirit and he seems happy at Newcastle however the lad will know in his heart that he will have a better chance of playing for Spain who are the world champions if he goes to them! Carroll was a born and bred Geordie! We would all love to play for the shirt and emulate Shearer like he did and look what happened! 80k a week and he is off chasing Liverpool whilst saying It wasn't his choice bullshit! I just wonder who will go in the summer! I personally think if Jonas is getting as much interest from Lazio then Enrique may follow. Jonas I am not so bothered about as we have that French boy lined up but Enrique will be hard to replace! Not Many good left backs on the world far less the uk!
  10. To be fair Gemmill, the times I have seen him play suggest he will be much better at the job than Lovenkrands and Best. I am not going to say he is going to be amazing and he is going to take the premiership by storm! Far from it! Looking at what options we have, Alaidaiere certainly wasnt the best option. His goal scoring record was shocking. At least Kuqi has scored! Ethwerton probably wanted stupid money to come and lets face it, didnt know the game or even english! Kuqi was the best of a very bad bunch. He is a different style player to what we have and I am not going to get on his back for it. He has a signed a short term contract, he knows he wont play that much however lets support this guy before we start calling him all for. Best of a bad bunch isn't really good enough though, is it? I've got nothing against the player, but I'm not dreaming up scenarios where he's gonna be any good. That wouldn't be fair on him or me. It's another one of those NUFC employment situations where nobody is more surprised than the prospective employee themselves that we're showing an interest in them. We need to knock these on the head. I agree with you in everything you say. Its not good enough however its going to have to be. All we need is for this boy to get signed by another team and then Best to get injured and lets face it, Best is a bit injury prone since he showed up. If that happened most fans would be asking why we didnt sign him in the first place! At the end of all of this Newcastle United are to blame for this situation. We should have been planning for a striker the whole of January. Pardew said at the start he was looking for one!

  12. I wish him all the best at West Brom and hope he can save them from relegation (Not at our expense though). Chris was a true gentleman and deserves nothing but the biggest cheer from us when he returns to SJP, maybe even a wee chant!
  13. I prefer this fella and Jeremie Ala-wally-crap! He is only here until the end of the season, gives us an extra option and lets face it, at least he has a better record than the former Arsenal Kid. We were never going to sign anybody of great calibre in this move. Personally, I think Kuqi could potentially be a good target man for the time being. Pardew has it spot on with Ranger being an impact player for the time being. I dont think Best or Lovankrands will be any sort of holding striker whilst Kuqi can do that! He does fit in to our style of play. Ho'way lads, let us remember we didnt have much choice and werent going to sign a great striker but at least this one looks the most logical!
  14. On the point about Hooper, Yes, I agree to an extent however you cant compare Hooper to Carroll as Hooper hasnt done anything close to EPL level. The other thing about Carroll is he has this talent of being completely unplayable at the top level due to his strong and very robust nature. I think Hooper would be a good player to take a chance on however I would point out that goals in the SPL dont really amount to much due to the poor standard of the league. I think the vast majority agree that Andy Carroll has been over valued. I said upon his England debut that he was worth £12mil for no other reason than he had played for England. There was another player who had scored 11 league goals by December, had scored against the top teams and that was coming after a very fruitful haul of goals in the championship. He was also aged 22 and got his first England cap.... Michael Ricketts! As regards to Fraser, very good goal keeper and has some natural attributes to be a fine goalkeeper however he needs to sort his attitude out as regards to how good he thinks he is. I personally think Celtic will try to sign him permanently at the end of the season. Which is ashame as I think him and Krul would be good for each other.
  15. Seen the article in the people. Mike Ashley has talked about spending the money from the Carroll transfer. Also speaks of him falling back in love with football. Carroll deal was also mentioned. We got £30mil now and a 7.5% sell on clause or 7.5 discount if we bought him back haha!
  16. He is under contract at Fiorentina and they have decided to reinstate him to the first team despite going AWOL! I dont think we will be allowed a loan by the Premier League either.
  17. You would have thought with all the money he has made that he would have done something about those ears!
  18. He is a good player and as a free transfer he would be worth the risk. He is quite a good crosser of the ball and quite quick down the wing. I also heard he can play at full back to cover Jose. Pity we sold Carroll otherwise him on the left and Barton on the right would have gave him great service. Another thing to note is Liverpool have been scouting him and I do believe he went as far as sitting I'm the directors box at anfield during a match. If we get him then I would say Pardew is planning to sell someone in the summer and it could be barton if he doesn't sign a new contract unfortunately!

    Barton

Lets face it, he is waiting to see what Newcastle do with the money this summer. Barton was quite happy with the team because Carroll complimented his football. His passing in to Carroll is what have got him recognised this season. Same with Nolan with Carrolls knock downs.
  20. Another name we havent been linked to yet who is a free agent is Francis Jeffers. The once £8mil man for Arsenal!
  21. I agree with all of those apart from Keane who had some stupid demands for going to other clubs. Only West 'ammmm were stupid enough to pay it!
  22. It's not, but I think it is the most points anyone has been relegated on since it went to 20 teams / 38 games. However, even using that flawed logic, wouldn't that make the magical target 43 points? I will leave you to tell Pardew that one Alex! I am sure he will ask you for a shovel for him to bury his grave as it cant get any better than that!
  23. Probably still coming back to fitness. Boro offered him rehab help to get over the knee injury. If speed was his main asset and he has a serious knee injury, then he might not be much of a player he use to be! And to be fair, he wasnt much of one. Least we will get to see his Page 3 bird every so often though if you want to take positives out the deal! haha!
  24. 42 points as the magical goal as that has been the most any team has ever been relegated with in the Premier League hence that being the target. Got to remember, those league tables had a few teams who had some really low amount of points! Sunderland, Derby, etc.
