I don't recall that being the case; I do recall that for Beardsley's testimonial in 1999 Happened at Shearer's since he couldn't play the ref give us a penalty at 1-1 so he could come on and score. The Celtic lot weren't pleased and never shut up about it for a while after. It was 2-2 when Shearer came on

That's the one They beat us recently and promptly had a wankfest, totally discounting the fact we'd only just been promoted and Arsenal smashed them 3-0 a few week later. Who is "they;" Celtic or Rangers?

Aye I don't think it will, if it did they should be forced to enter from the bottom rung but even then I don't want them in English football. Agree with your point before about Boro the core of that team won the SPL, they're championship standard teams at best tbh. We thrashed them 4-1 in a pre-season friendly and iirc they won the league and we finished 14th (under Roeder maybe?), both terrible sides makes me cringe when they draw a team like Man utd in the CL groups "battle of britain" before Man utd dominate them 3-0. 4-2 in Summer 2004, under Souness (August 1st actually)

what?! how can you live with yourself top game in the Northern League; with North Shields v West Allotment both in D2 (and playing each other at 12, so I'm contemplating a two header), i reckon there could be 600+ at Hillheads. Come on the Walkergate Brazilians!!!

Some perm haired Trotskyist who drove round in BMW's and Jaguar's with the personalised plate 'DEG5Y' as I recall. Having a perm and driving around in personalised luxury cars being amongst the main tenets of Trotskyism. ah. A champagne Socialist. better than a brown ale Nazi Did he let you have a go on his wife? He wasn't married to her at the time. Bear in mind, it was 1982/83 when I knew him

Who? Cheik! Think it's only J69 thinks he's shit....and has done for a while. Whilst I don't think he's shit, he most certainly isn't as "great" as some make him out. He's by no means shit. He's great at what he does and it's highly important (harrying opponents/breaking down play-we've scarecely ever had that), it's just he's a 'shit' footballer. ie he's not very good with the ball. His pass completion is always good because they're short lay offs once he's gained possession so that stat itself is largely meaningless. It's totally different to trying to make incisive defence splitting passes into space for your forwards to read. This is why for me if he does go we can't have the mentality it's some sort of irreplaceable loss. The function he performs is what has been shown to be so important to the team and so it's an exercise in making sure we've always got someone/our eye on someone who can perform the same basic role. He's not a natural footballer so that shouldn't be such a mammoth task, he just carries out a highly important defensive function. If he had an attacking side to his game it would be nigh on impossible to replace him (he'd be the 'complete' footballer) but he doesn't. Far from it in fact, for me he could train all week without a ball and probably be quite happy. your phone's ringing!
