Two positives..... 1. We looked far better when Ferguson went off. 2. We didn't lose by 4 or 5 like we did at Fulham, wigan & spurs last year. Be brave; we'll win 2-1 at Stoke on Wednesday
-
Krul's fault; should have put it out
-
Michael Owen looks like Aled Jones off to a fancy dress party as Lemmy
-
And that day I was at Hartlepool 2 Preston 0, though I was at Port Vale a fortnight later for Steve Watson's winner
-
Gavin Peacock's last minute winner that day was a really joyous moment; october 19th i think. possibly 26th
-
they were season after; in about 4 days of each other as well..... Liam O'Brien OG & Robert Lee 2 for them i'm sure
-
honestly - i'm remembering this season as clear as day here; tragic the club never released a video of it, especially as i missed Liam O'Brien's equaliser v West Brom as i was having a piss - also never saw it on Back Page next day
-
next clean sheet was 1-0 2nd leg win over Crewe & i shut up some whining cunt in Gallowgate wing paddock of Milburn who said it was only against a 4th division side Pav would keep a clean sheet
-
Right - that was 11th March 89; didn't do that game as mate got married & I was at the do at Lumley Castle when the scores came in
-
Notts Co was December 29th i think, sandwiched in between Swindon on Boxing Day (1-1) & oldham on NYD (1-1), courtesy of Stimson's insane OG - fucking terrible kick in teeth
-
we drew 1-1 with West Ham on 22/9; Burridge made an arse of a clearance in front of Gallowgate corner. the Millwall loss was 8/9. Port Vale win was 1/9. We won at blackburn on 15/9 with Liam O'Brien goal after 94 minutes.....
-
i'm sure it was Wolves; i'll check from Paul Joannou's book when I'm next up in the loft; remember a story about him & Gazza having 13 pints in Walkers on the Thursday before the game. you know that Sheff Wed win was Pav's first clean sheet; also, and I've racked my brains on this, i believe it was the first & probably only time i ever saw Trevor Francis play. Brock cross in off post at Gallowgate.
-
and Paul Moran deflecting a certain goal from Quinn over the bar from 2 yards out at the Leazes End; as bad as Dillon missing at the same end from almost on the line v Swindon on Boxing Day honestly, the only good home game was the 3-2 win over Oldham after Ardiles was appointed
-
1990/1991 is the absolute gold medal of shite; far worse than the relegation seasons, as at least they provided a kind of unifying anger the successive 0-0 games v Brighton, Wolves & Bristol City (not sure if that's right order) were the worst games ever. the oxford abandonment & replayed game - "where were you when we were shit?" i was there - twice!!
-
I didn't say he hadn't been; considering he's on his wrong foot he's done really well
-
Stevie, appreciate what you're saying; just saying that we could be as rudderless & impotent under Hughton as we've been for the majority of this season. The current problems are all to do with the failure to add to the squad in the summer; Pardew needs to win some games fairly soon to keep dissent quiet & stop January's window being panic stations. Left back, centre half, striker - not rocket science....
-
Those attempting to rewrite Hughton's tenure at the club may wish to remember the WBA and Bolton away games towards the end of his administration
-
i'm off now; expect dull low scoring win and 25k crowd
-
To get everyone back on his side, Abramovich needs to appoint a woman bishop as Chelsea manager

The Secret Diary of Lee Ryder (aged 44 and a half)
Gene_Clark replied to Craig's topic in Newcastle Forum
Ryder's 2 big problems, apart from being as thick as pig shit, are his inability to adopt a professional attitude towards the general public & his boozing. It's bad enough when he goes off the deep end when he's sober, but him drunk (especially still pissed the morning after). There's simply no way George Culkin, Martin Hardy or any other NUFC supporting journalist (even Ian Murtagh and he's a complete clown) would go on the way he does. -

Lee was at Hillheads tonight for Whitley Bay v Blyth. Stevie - you're not the only person he's followed around Twitter acting the chap towards; a lad I know who is involved with Hebburn Town but used to be home & away NUFC until 2008 got the same treatment a while back -
yes; thanks
