    This is genuinely a very exciting transfer, especially for £2.5 mil. He's technically a better player than Tiote, much more attack minded and knows where the goal is. Obviously the situation isn't ideal with him being suspended by his club but that's not our problem.

    You can tell his head hasn't been right, he's been shit for months. When he's shit there's no-one to carry Williamson, hence the schoolboy like defensive displays. Mbiwa will shore it up with Taylor, still a big blow to the club though. He's been a rock for the club in recent seasons.

    It does beg the question that if we had a better tactician at management level, would we be successful? At the minute we look fruitless tactically.

    Santon's biggest problem is his concentration. He switches off quite a bit, and when there's a diagonal ball or a cross he allows the attacker to get across or in front of him and by that time the damage is done. I think a good point about commitment and desire was made aswell, if he showed more when defending he'd be a much better asset for us.

    Agree. Considering we had 8 mil on the table for Remy and Gouffran will be around 1 mil mark I'd hope there would be more available for another striker. But with this management's track record and Pardew's comments about "1 or 2" players in before the end of the month then I wouldn't be suprised if this was it.
