Film/moving picture show you most recently watched
Ruler of Planet Houston replied to Jimbo's topic in General Chat
Just watched Avatar. Probably never watch it again. Overrated, drawn out, predictable cack! Probably exciting at the cinema being the first big 3d bollocks but as a film it's about as 'blockbusting' as Independence Day! -

Halloween 2 (2009) - never saw the first remake but couldn't even sit through more than 30 minutes of this heap of crap! One of the biggest reasons in why I believe it loses all scariness (and plot) is because of the multiple dream/hallucination sequences. When films do that, it just makes you take each scene less seriously because it might just turn out to be a dream. Utter Shite!!!! It's a shame cos Myers was a pretty good character. Just everything is was crap. Oh, and the ghost of his mother and little dead self guiding him around was just shite. I thought his mother was just supposed to be an innocent victim? -

Whey not likely. People see 'untested' and run a mile. Probably needs a new fuse or power supply (£20) I bet it goes for £50ish If it wasn't in Wales I would have bought it just for the wood. You can buy flat pack wood cabinets (just the wood) for £1500!!! But I do look forward to making a right arse of a rickety box myself -

I fancied making one for the fun of making it myself. The finished product will just be a bonus. So far it's only cost about £60 for parts and all I need now is an old tv and some (lots of) mdf. I'll be very surprised if that cab doesn't go above a few hundred quid! The only bit I'm not looking forward to is discharging the tv then touching it...just in case I fail! -

Canny! But did you build the whole thing? Cabinet looks like moulded plastic. -

Diana Spencer - 13 years on
Ruler of Planet Houston replied to Kevin S. Assilleekunt's topic in General Chat
Richard Whiteley's death is the only famous one that upset me...but it's all turned out well with the full overhaul and re-casting (Rachel "tight dress" Riley). I remember helping my dad on his parcel round during Diana's funeral. I knocked on someones door with a parcel during the moments silence and got a reet sour look of disgust off the woman! -
If you could change one thing...

I wouldn't have went out on my motorbike and started daydreaming as I approached that bend and oncoming car! That said, that is no where near the worst thing that happened to me that year but I'd rather it hadn't happened! -
Let me put another slant on it (no pun intended) My view on our pathetic countries pussy footing avoidance of free speech: I can (like everyone else) happily make jokes about my best friends being fat, ugly, thin, idiotic etc... The same for complete strangers. The people listening often laugh, even when they are the subject being. So I consider it racist not to mock other races. Why single them out like that? You can call someone a fat cunt and they will chuckle and possibly respond with "fuck off!" as it is clear you are joking. You can call someone a fat cunt in a different situation and end up in a fight. In conclusion...if Frank was running a political campaign, he's a racist. If he is supposed to be a comedian doing a routine, then laugh or change the fucking channel! Fucking sick of the race card turning up just because it can. The bloke takes the piss out of audience members for their jobs, sexual preference etc... As does other comics, but no one ever moans about that being discrimination!

No!!!!!!! The origins of 'Chinky' aren't really known - slitty eyes was just one possibility, although probably the most unlikely. Source? Why would it be used to refer to Korean and Vietnamese soldiers during those wars if it were just a friendly shortening of "chinese"? Those soldiers didn't think they were fighting china at all. Wikipedia And they were referred to as Gooks, not chinkies

Aye...get it snipped! Mine sprayed on my new trainers and no amount of washing ever got rid of the stink
-
But that's just misjudgement. I have felt quite the tosser when asking a Chinaman (or chinky as I see a fitting abbreviation) about Japan. Just like some yanks can mistake a cockney for an ozzie! Any word can be used in a racist way, but that shouldn't be reason to condemn the use of the word.
-
On the 'paki' part, I don't see anything wrong with referring to Pakistanis as 'pakis'. Pakistan isn't really a race, it's just a country. People say Brits (not englishmen, scotsmen etc..), yanks instead of americans, ozzies instead of australians etc... just cos they aren't white and some of them bomb us it's "racist" to shorten their nationality word???? Bollocks!!!! They need to lighten up and stop looking for things to moan about.

Agreed! 'twas a corker...and true(ish) - "happiness only real when shared" -
Think about how long you will keep the car. If you can see yourself having it still in 5 years, then a loan is gonna be best. If you intend to get rid and keep renewing with a decent car, hp is great for that cos you end up paying a little over half the value of the car and getting rid of it when it is worth less than you owe (if you get my meaning). Mine at 2.5 years old when I handed it back was probably sold for about £5000 but I could have paid another £10000 to keep it.

supposed to keep them in for 6 months so they know where 'home' is, then they will come back when let out. That said, I let my kitten out after about 3 weeks and he always came home - but my house was the only one aroud for about 3 miles.
