1. Ah right yes, the poor artist pose. Suprised to hear you play the class card really. You're middle class aren't you? And the working classes in the UK are amongst the most priveleged people in the world. What are your jingles about? Baked beans?
2. I think you're talking a fair bit of sense. I don't think Souness is the answer, I also don't think he's the devil incarnate. There's a few on here (though really not many) who are not listening to the facts, there always is. I'm just saying you seem to have become as nad as them on the other side. When's the last time you gave any ground in this debate? I just think you're being OTT, but at least you're not being HTT!
3. Anyone who fancies a laugh, the archives of Ricky Gervais and Steve Merchant on XFM will get some laughs: http://www.xfm.co.uk/article.asp?id=3673 Posted by someone else quite recently but there it is again.
4. And it probably cost the daft get at least a grand!!! 38253 He hadn't finished loading...
5. Seeing as no one else has started it. Finishing off some work, listenig to Ricky Gervais on the xfm archives and having a couple of glassed of wine. Very exciting. What about you?
6. I think Renton's a top poster on this forum and I often bow to your superior knowledge on football but I think you've lost the plot a little on Souness. It's all "some of us predicted" this and "rose tinted specs" that. "Whatever but we're right in the end." Seems a bit close minded doesn't it? Almost like one of thsoe who believes all the propaganda.
7. Try tell that to Bill O'Reilly!

No, that doesn't work as a serial killer smilie. Being Irish I just call people with balaclavas and large weapons citizens.

I agree with every word of that, bit apprehensive about Parker because that's how I felt about Butt this time last year, he's different class though.
10. Statement makes no sense, you seem to be labouring under the illusion that 'businessmen' are in some special club. Some of the people I deal with I still can't believe. I meant you seem far more concerned about money, not really an artist.

I assume it's some form of euphamism. What the kiddies have to do for HTT to get over here?
12. That was a bit tongue in cheek to be honest Rob, but their former dictator was charged with cannibalism I believe. My real point is just because it's legislation doesn't mean it's right. I have a problem with how the law helps big business but does not punish it. I feel I have regularly been the victim of theft from big business, my only recourse? Don't use them again. We get what we accept. I also agree with you that smoking a spliff walking through Turkish customs is not adviseable, for example.
13. It's understandable, that doesn't make it right or does it make it the only opinion in the industry. Thought you had a trade business btw, so how much are you really making from your music? There are plenty of bigger fish who don't agree with you. Some musicians are less concerned with the industry and more concerned with their talent. 38171 No, I'm a sole TRADER which is a kind of self employment. I make an average living from music. It's hard going and there's no real shortcuts for what I do (songwriting, TV music). I love what I do though, so I consider myself fortunate. I'm going to be looking for a publishing deal in the spring after I have finished recording my album. I probably won't release it commercially, but hope to have songs covered by bigger artists. 38187 No I genuinely thought you were a plumber or something, must be thinking of someone else on here. I do get that self employed people can work in the music industry. Your seem to think that musicians could only disagree with your argument for personal benefit, so that small bands can get themselves out there. Some people feel there are larger issues at stake. You sound like you're really a business man as opposed to an artist to be honest. Just from my experience.
14. So when you run off on your little jaunt to central Africa if the laws there happen to be a little on the totalitarian side, legal cannibalism, that's just tough? We shouldn't intervene or question them?
15. Is that true, I honestly thought it had gone the other way. Was I a victim of industry propaganda? Why are the big boys then agreeing to deals which are cutting into their profits?
16. More of a case of spoiling for a fight I feel. Might be hypocrisy for either of us to point that out though!

How ever does he get past Checkpoint Charlie? Must be sweet with the guards.
18. Did you read the whole thread? People who download music freely but also buy music in whatever format.

20. So that's the only issue is it Rob, how the law sees things?
21. So you don't have a problem with people who both download and pay for music?
22. So why don't you buy your music from iTunes then? AF - Your argument makes no sense, people are both downloading and buying, how does that get them into a 'free music' mind set?

Can't agree with that comparison, I like Mourinho, he's obviously an intelligent and cultured individual. Brian Clough was a good football manager, he was also a gobshite and a bully. The not liking them probably has to do with success. I can see where you're coming from with results first. Chelsea aren't Bolton though, they can afford to do it in style. Do you not think the standard of football we're watching in the Permiership has gone dramatically downhill n the last year or so?

Doesn't that make him confident then? I like him as a person, just don't like his tactics. I think he could be far more adventurous, foobtall seems to have forgotten about the fans somewhere along the line.
