I was more giving out about them hitting the small, often non-profit websites with these tactics and leaving the media to peddle their shite. In my experience plenty of businesses use the solicitor's letter, not with any intention to carry out the threat, but just to scare people off. Cunts. EDIT: How are you getting around it, if you can say? I'm running a few web servers but all of them are hosted with companies that could balk at the sight of a solicitor's letter. If I was to get involved in the porn industry there would be places I could host to avoid legal complications but I'd think that's rather specialised. Not that I've ever looked into this...

It's more the risk of the hosting company pooing themselves and turning off your web site when they see a solicitors letter. Newspapers make libelous statements all the time and get away with them because no one can be bothered to go through the legal process.

I think the abuse that coloured people suffer on this forum warrants legal action!
