Any chance public knowledge means the same thing to Dutch journalists as in the UK? ie. PeashePud made it up and they all copied it...

4 discs?! I usually throw out the extras disc along with the box unless it's got something worthwhile on it. Just watched Payback, pretty decent action adventure type of stuff, better than expected. The very last thing that happens lost it some marks for me.

Im just in the middle of watching that. They are currently getting towed to safety..... 180040[/snapback] I don't know, Cath, might be better off - when groups get caught, one always survives, so if a group of one is caught will they definitely survive?

Jaysus, man, it was a joke. And stop with the "everyone except you" playground routine, it's embarrassing. I take the piss out of everyone, you less so because I know you can't take it, but every time I can't resist, you bite. Everyone knows it's a joke expect you!

T'internet is GREAT for these kind of things, shite analogy GOLD! Go to bed you drunkard!

Him and Martins would do nicely, apparently he's available at about 3m?
-
So Fred's risking ruining the club so he has a scapegoat and can give the new messiah millions? Come on man, where are the millions for the new messiah coming from if he sinks the club? This also clashes with the season ticket sales conspiracies, how do we make that work? That's as crazy as anything Bluf's ever come out with. Shepherd's not the shining beacon of brilliance that Leazes would have us believe but he's not the Dark fucking Lord either!

No, if we only had 5 million to spend, only a complete idiot wouldn't spend it all on a target man in our predicament. That's why I think we have significantly more...10m? 15m?

The dance scene has got to be up there in cinematic history now. On a similar note Podium, French film about a washed out Claude Francoise impersonator (played by the psycho out of Man Bites Dog!), has a similarly hilarious dance scene.
-
I agree with both of those interpretations depending on my mood. There's some classic moments & characters regardless.
-
Agreed. Should not even be up for debate.
-
If there really is only 5m to spend on a striker I'll join the angry mob with torch aflame. Why the fuck would we be trying to get the likes of Kuyt/Martins and another cheap striker.
-
Where is a closet's bum located? Trust you to know these things.
-
Inter can afford to lose Martins, he's given his best years to the club anyway.
-
Is that what turned you?
-
I'm sure the only time I've ever seen that figure mentioned was someone talking ironically on here or N-O?
-
Shit, I think I might just have turned the tables on that...

I'll admit I may be laying it on a bit thick, but that's because I think people are being overly emotional that things are getting close to the window and we've now lost out on a striker to a bigger club. And no, me feeling that 3 players will come in before the end of the window is no where near your levels of pro-Souness lunacy! <_< I know you've been hurt by Souness, but the first cut is the deepest, baby I know. Try to save a little optimism for the Roedster.
-
We're DOOMED! Fucking hell, talk about only reading the bits you want to hear!
-
That will be a very sad state if we're still in that position when the window closes. I wasn't aware of that about Luque, what I had heard about him in Spain led me to believe he was a 10m player, I may be paying too much attention to fan boys.

Roeder said he was after a player who could play down both wings or off the striker. We probably would have taken SWP on loan if Duff hadn't happened. We've been in for at least 2/3 other strikers this summer and when Roeder says the quality ones are way over priced I believe him. If we pay 150% of actual value in 2 weeks time I would say that's about the same as we would have paid at the start of the summer for anyone other than Gudjohnsen and I'm very glad we haven't handed 12m to our Spurs for Defoe, not convinced by him and don't want to help their advancement. Anyone care to compare that fee to the Owen fee btw? Nothing's changed to the position of a couple of days ago, other than we lost out to Liverpool on Kuijt, and we will now move on to the next target. We were in for him, however people want to perceive the way the game was played, and we lost out, what would people have thought had we just not bothered? Would you say that because Kuijt was the most public interest that they haven't been working hard on other transfers? Wouldn't think so. Liverpool are now different league to us, we have to accept that, I think they'll run Chelsea very close next season with those strikers, in fact I reckon they could win it.
-
So when we sign a decent player it's a fluke, but when it goes badly it's their fault, not bad luck? Signing Owen last year (as Shearer's replacement in every way IMO) was a coup which would not have happened had we not paid "over the odds", or if we had not played the transfer window. Quite frankly I don't think 16m is over the odds for a player of his effectiveness and quality, the injuries that he suffered could not have been accounted for (although could have been better prepared for by paying for 2 players of less quality). We didn't pay more than market value for Luque or Nobby, brought in very late, the fact that Luque didn't work out is down to a bad injury and a bad character, this appears to be something Roeder is keen to rectify. The exact same noises were made last year, we did get the players needed in then and the problems last season were mainly down to the manager. The main worry is that the defence appears to be being overlooked again, but at lest Roeder seems to be able to get some semblance of a back four unit out of them, if last season is anything to go by.

I knew you'd claim that. Oh no, it was me pretending to fall on my face, it is you who is the dummy, ha ha!
