eh? I don't think 'Muslimism' is word. The religion Muslims practice is Islam. I don't agree, though I knew what you were getting at, my response was more a question of what value your comment has. Did anyone misunderstand me?

That paper makes it pretty clear, in my opinion. He seems to be postioning them as Catholicism: "The choice for a new generation", the first job of the Pope must surely be to secure the future of his religion? And is competition with other religions not intrinsic in that goal?
-
What does the pope have to gain from making an "innocent" comment which gets blown out of all proportion by his greatest rivals; making the greatest threat to his religion look like a bunch of sandal-wearing loonies, while Catholicism becomes increasingly accepted as the rational and futuristic option (at a time when their anachronism is at an all-time high)? I can't think...

Pretty much what I was about to post. Let's not forget that he doesn't distance himself from the quote and goes on to press home the case for the rationality of Catholicism. He may not say it directly, but he's saying Muslimism is stuck in the Dark Ages. He may not be wrong, but it's a pretty weighty thing to suggest. Has a pop at every other major religion too, I guess that's what the head of a religion has to do. The whole paper makes a good argument for the serious place Philosophy has in society, but he hasn't really made a good argument by trying to shoe-horn religion in. Although I increasingly think there's one to be made.

There's nowt stopping you from going to the Vatican, son. If Allah loved you enough he'd put on a charter plane for you. Unlikely to reach its intended destination tbh.

I use my keyboard to type values, saves complication. I don't think many would argue with your move. Have you read much on the subject? I think the general thinking would be if you made that play 10 times you'd be well up. Obviously the read of your opponent is important.

What else do you expect from a Jew.

Harewood may have got a small knock in the face, saw him checking his front teeth were still firmly in place afterwards. They hit each other at a fair pace, 69 position, on the ground, as Shay went down to claim the ball. It was 100% the torso area that he was having a problem with.
-
Maybe a collapsed lung, a complication from broken ribs? Both my first and second concerns when I saw Shay go down like that, not one to show that kind of pain over nothing. There's not too many people he'd be too worried about colliding with, but Harewood is one of them.

Why do we always end up getting into scrapes about stereotypes when talking about movies? I believe stereotypes are founded in truth, that may be our problem. It's amazing that two people with such a broad interest in films can disagree on basically every film. I thought Brokeback was a pile of wank, so there you go. Just to push the stereotype issue, Allen's depiction of it is very narrow and people like that most certainly exist (everywhere, in my experience), so how can you see it as a stereotyping of the entire aristocracy?

Suitably embarrassed.

I don't remember that bit, but I'm having a hard time marrying it to anything other than a Boston/Brooklyn accent! You've managed to stereotype to an extent that you've taken a genuinely working class Irish man, playing a genuinely working class Irish part and saying he's not believable. I'm not a big fan of Myers but I actually thought he did a particularly good job here, in a very difficult role. The man's a sociopath long before he makes it so obvious and the despicable characters are despicable. Great film tbh.

That's totally unfair, I don't think Harewood should take any of the blame. Good result, good effort; well done lads.

Cheers, didn't feel like it when I went out! I was 13th with 100 left, should have got the top 50, never been there before, so didn't know how to play it from there. Learnt a lot from it, though, and I'll do another round 1 probably this week. 5 minutes break every hour, concentration was waning towards the end, though. It started at 8.30, so I was still at it at 1.30 in the morning. Back reading Sensai Dan this morning to see where I went wrong.

Played my first MTT last night on PokerStars, it was the first round of three rounds for a seat at the 2.5m Bahamas final, free to enter. 5,500 entered, 50 through to round 2, 4 hours later I finished 67th, ouch! Good learning experience, though, I recommend anyone who's not done one give it a go, very different to an SnG, and it's free to enter when you sign up to PokerStars.

bbc.co.uk - good news archive and it's got h2g2 imdb.com wikipedia.org games.yahoo.com - download all the games, although shockwave.com might be better gutenberg.org - all out of copyright books available to download I like the suggestions of allmusic and twoplustwo, but anyone suggesting N-O should be immediately banned.

I was playing on bodog last night, all-in fest left me on the bubble having paid to see maybe one flop, so I typed "Jesus Wept", up comes "* Wept", I then typed "Muhammad Wept" which came up "Muhammad Wept", so that was nice. )£$#$ Wept!

Amen to that.

No, I believe you're bang on, mainly close to New York, and Hartford. I didn't mean that Connecticut was exceptional to most of New England in that regard, but that in the US generally it would be a high percentage. I'm not particularly interested, but it's hard not to notice the Jewish population with an interest in US politics. [/CanOWorms]
