I also agree that's why it's there.

I think that assumption's half the problem tbh. the mind boggles at how stupid some people can be, but I've never met someone who couldn't understand simple guidelines on not getting ripped off, at the very least they could "phone a friend". It's more laziness than anything else, and if they can't be arsed, maybe they should suffer the consequences. I know if I don't check on the internet before I buy a product I pretty much blame myself if it goes wrong.

Separate issue; unless we want to throw the looney shopkeeper out with the bath-water. Its not really a seperate issue, its basicaly about transparency and standardisation of pricing so Joe Punter can easily see how much he is paying for his banana. The whole metric martyr shebang was just a bit of whipped up europe bashing tosh t try nad make an issue where there wasnt one But if he wanted to up the prices of his bananas, couldn't he do so anyway? Maybe if we gave Joe credit for being able to do a bit of simple maths, the World wouldn't be in the state it's in; it's a stretch, granted. The shit corporations get away with on a daily basis, which is just accepted, makes this even more of a laughable concept. I'm not talking about this specific person btw, don't know who he is, but what you say about him sounds very plausible.

I'm getting a picture in my head, on a scale of one to ten, how close is this picture to Renton? ...

If a bloke wants to run his business into the ground, selling only the lefty-hand side of cabbages, sold by the moon-unit, how can that really be anyone's business but his own?

How do you know what flowers taste like? I assume somebody stole your wallet one Christmas and you had to survive on flowers and ditchwater for a year.

I notice you picked the only one of his novels converted to Disney, though.

Besides (assuming everyone else's UK passport is the same as the one I was issued by the consulate in Düsseldorf a few years back), it only has the words "European Union" in fairly small letters at the top, then "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" in bigger letters underneath and a massive royal coat of arms taking up the rest of the front page. It's not as if we're being asked to roll up to passport control and hand over our biometric data imprinted into a Belgian waffle or something. I know I've lost track of this ID card debacle but Charlemagne Wept!

Individually wrapped biscuits? Sorry I thought she had a bit of misfortune, I missed the bit where she said she'd been trapped in a Dickens novel.

I thought it was very good, couple of cringe-tastic moments in typical Wachowski brothers style, but top quality popcorn.

Have a good one.

Does anyone live where it shuts down on a Sunday

Complete over-reaction.

Beats Dyer back into the Newcastle team. Good performance, some very nice movement going forward, fairly solid at the back, Ramage is dog shit, Harper scares me.

I think you're imagining things that aren't actually happenning.

Anyone think it might carry more value after he's been in Newcastle for over a year? The bloke's honest, and now he's said he'll stay as long as he's welcome. I believe him. I assume the disparaging posters in this thread would rather all Newcastle's signings to make a sincere appraisal of their footballing future and the area after a quick tour of the airport lounge?

Even DaVinci was only relatively brilliant, surely?
-
Have you watched it recently?

I favour it over Party and a few others, but Full Tilt might be better, and I'd be watching which way the fish swim before making a decision.

Measuring consistency by averages? Has Leazes just invented the field of ironic accounting? If the FA are to be believed the NUFC accountants are already practicing it.
