I'm willing to believe the side underperformed, especially giving my expectations pre-tournament, but Arena has got you where you are, so it's a bit harsh to pin it on him. Maybe he's done as well as he can with the tools he has? My memory is shite, but that doesn't make my impressions at the time any less valid. Ghana beat you fair and square, you made the Czech Republic look like they were the best team in the World, who then did this: for half (most?) of the game against Ghana. I really can't remember my impressions of the Italy match, but when the US went out, my over-riding impression as stated previously, was that you were a long way back from the development I'd expected. I'd also say that every team can point to moments when things could/should have changed things for the better, but the teams that do consistently well, do well in spite of these same moments.

I was one of those who thought the US might do something at the last World Cup, my objective opinion, they were absolute gash, one of the worst teams in the competition, and it'll be at least another decade before they're not. If it's any consolation, you might still be better than the current Ireland side.

I think I've mentioned that in this thread before, Tracker is a pain in the arse for anything other than tracking positional/hand leaks. You have to import tournament summaries for Stars, which involves requesting 5 hand histories and then setting up an address that Tracker can download from or importing them manually. Really not worth the effort if you're playing even 5 games a day. Basically, TourneyManager for tracking, Tracker for leaks - unless you're playing cash games.

I'm not one of Carr's biggest supporters, he's average to poor most of the time, but to compare him to Ramage is shocking. Ramage has consistently put in the worst full-back performances I have ever seen. I admit his face may be getting in the way of an objective assessment, but it's possibly the worst display I've seen in any position, ever. I do feel sorry for the lad, though, he's hopelessly low on confidence, playing out of position, in a shit team with no idea how to defend, at the most important time in his career. If I remember rightly, he was a couple of months away from being released, when we had very few decent defenders, until things got even more desperate. That speaks volumes.

I mean in-game, though, not for future reference. I don't even keep the notes, as poker tracker will have all that for after, anyway. The idea is I get used to doing it all, and eventually it just becomes habit, no need to take notes. It also helps to keep me focused. I just wanted to get some insight into other people's strategies, to steal your minds, as it were.

What kind of notes are people keeping on the players around them during the game? Is it all mental notes or do you scribble them down, what details do you keep track of, and what are the key signals for you? I have an excel spreadsheet for all of the players noting things like: % hands played, anything the showed-down and how they gambled that hand, what size of bet they fold to as a % of the pot and sometimes their stack.
