When Emre went down I saw his ankle go a bit funny, but thought at worst it would be a sprain, maybe a fortnight out. Baffled by this talk of a broken leg.

He took his goal very well, but he's so inconsistent, half of his touches/shots are Shola-esque, half are world class. And he's just not working hard enough... Oh, and he's really learned how to use that athletic jumping ability he has against stronger opponents. Competes well above his height for aerial balls now.

I reckon the young players might fear him a bit. Mr. Roeder, can you please stop stroking the young players as you're giving them that final word of advice before they come on. You think it's reassuring, they look uncomfortable. Losing Solano at the back had a massive impact btw, Emre less so, and if Roeder had subbed Rossi on for him it wouldn't have been noticed at all.

The Henchoz sending off should make the 3 points safe, but if there's a team that can throw this away... Strangely, it's having such a cultured right-back on the field that gives me so much confidence in the defence, really lifts the back four. There was a nice period of a couple of minutes where the back four were just passing it back and forth, gets to Nobby in a position where it would usually be hoofed, and he plays a nice ball cross field to Ramage/Baba to keep it going. As soon as it goes back to Given, he hoofs it, when Nobby was in plenty of space. He really needs to work on his distribution.
