In case the other one going around doesn't work out, I think I've found a way around this if people are interested.

wouldn't be at all surprised to see Hughton do the same.

source? http://twitter.com/Scottwilsonecho searching 'ben arfa' on twitter seems to be the best way to get up to the minute news. still have to browse through a lot of shit to get to a half decent source.

My lass made me those Cookie Monster cakes btw, for my birthday last year. sounds like a keeper. I've never had them, just liked the pic

yeah city would have been a pretty big step down at that point. I'm sure there's been a couple with the likes of portsmouth and boro in recent seasons, I just have a terrible memory for them

why would you propagate a story like this? unproven coach starts season on a 1 year deal. loses first match vs class side 3-0, standard. wins next match 6-0 vs decent side, incredible. 2 days later hasn't signed new deal, news? and that bit of speculation has somehow got you excited? please read the story better.

This has everything to do with big government and nothing to do with free market. Can you tell me what part of the above is free market policy?

Renton's Maths and Language skills left in tatters on here recently.

I don't really think there's a real difference voting Labour or Conservative at this point. Even the Lib Dems are a vote for change the same way Obama was (ie not really at all). We'll keep arguing the insignificant minutiae of these things while big government keeps doing what it does regardless.

Nope, that still doesn't make any sense to me. It sounds like you're saying there wasn't a central character from whose viewpoint the film was based on. There was, it was Batman. Whether Bale acted him well or not, or the director focussed enough on him, is another matter. You just wanted to shoehorn a big word into the conversation, admit it. Renton has to look up word in dictionary and goes on the offensive.

That's a bit daft, how would they do that? Arrange for a fight at 2 o'clock at Hyde Park? Three men armed with fertilizer bombs against 10,000 British soldiers with tanks and planes? I hate terrorism as much as the next man but I can see the logic of assymetrical warfare and it tends to work in the end - Northern Ireland is a point in hand. You've levelled the same accusations of cowardice against the insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan in the past as well, but by that definition the French resistance in WW II would be cowards too. I don't even really want to argue with this, because I kind of agree with you, but is that a fair comparison? Did the Resistance go after civilians/women & children? Even comparing them to the IRA is tough. They were never out to maximise civilian casualties and often hit government/military. We're now dealing with radicalised psychopaths who sit down next to children on a train and with full awareness, blow them to pieces. Sorry for the tabloid bit there, but I think it's important the think about what these mad fuckers are doing, whatever their motives.

Completely the wrong way to look at something like this. They shoot 99/999/9,999 terrorists and unfortunately 1 of you/me/Leazes dies too. The system is monitored and we strive to improve it (lengthen the odds). Measures are in place to inquire into wrongful death. Acceptable?

I was pretty sure Ashley would fail to invest in the transfer window and our promotion push would just fall away in the second half of the season. Probably something particularly painful like scraping 6th and going out on penalties.

One caveat I would have about my above statement re this. I assume we don't always act rationally in this spot and maybe fight or flight mechanism kicks in? I have no clue but there must be some studies out there. Obviously if people were commonly compelled to run when cops pointed a gun at them, that would be a huge problem.
-
Have to agree with Leazes here. We have to make the best decision that we can overall to protect people, sometimes we'll fuck it up and someone innocent dies. That probably ends up being the right mathematical outcome though. We have to accept that we are pretty fucking stupid, especially as we try to organise bigger and bigger populations, but we do the best we can. I just don't feel that liberals accept that very well.

Fish's original statement seemed pretty straight forward like. I can't be arsed to figure out if it's also correct, but it certainly doesn't strike me as ridiculous. Then again it's hard for a lot of people not to like a well played, funny anti-establishment type and Bale always comes across as a bit of a cunt to me (still good actor) so maybe it was a losing battle from the off.

Power down now; world is ending.

Now Alex, I know the rest of your 45,000 posts aren't as blind as that
