  1. I got the impression she'd set herself on fire in the netty. She did. She was a bit mental by all accounts and killed one of her kids 10 years ago you reckon? you must be a professional!
  2. No, I definitely said more about the Owen deal than you did. Autistic or not. the fact that you believe that is why you remain so clueless about pretty much everything
  3. £202,531 per game £533,333 per goal Michael's right, I didn't know the facts, got my sums wrong... Transfer Fee £16m Wages £120,000 per week Wages £24.96m Total Insurance return £10m Total outlay £30.96m £1,032,000 per goal good posts, all the details of a nuanced argument covered there Why thank you. I didn't think it was THAT good. But it did say more than your post didn't it. only if you're a fucking autist who likes to post meaningless numbers and can't read between the lines. those numbers are relevant to the two major injuries he suffered, without which he would have been a good signing, and speak nothing of the reasons why the bloke is actually a prick.

  5. was my first thought too there are plenty of high functioning alcoholics in high stress positions, so not sure I agree on this one, chez isn't Alex Ferguson teetotal now ? Read his book but can't remember. He def has no time for his players drinking, always has. It clearly took its toll on Brian Clough in his last few years. could well be, but wasn't he fond of a drink when he was an outstanding manager early on? agree about clough, no matter how you play it, that much drink is eventually going to destroy your brain in the long term.
  6. was my first thought too there are plenty of high functioning alcoholics in high stress positions, so not sure I agree on this one, chez It was more about spreading malicious rumour about the scum's manager more than anything On the topic of excessive drinking/work though i guess it depends on the nature of the job and where the stress comes from. If you work in the city, you are gambling on the outcomes of events. You might have enough experience and knowledge to be able to process the implications of events as it doesnt require you to learn new ways of thinking. The stress becomes investing large cash into a gamble, and being full of coke and booze might not neccessarily be a bad thing. Being an actor is stressful but probably doesnt matter too much how much you drink. For a modern football manager, untrained in anything apart from coaching and playing football, running a club, preparing tactics to play teams, translating that into targeted coaching and adjusting this every week, buying and selling players, understanding the finance and administration (all increasingly complex), i reckon excessive drinking is going to affect your performance. I take your point though. that assumes that someone is always under the influence/operating at a severely reduced capacity, though. he can be training, internalising and processing new information early in the day, and operating on autopilot later on. not that I have a clue if bruce is up to that
  7. this thinking might be why ireland's economy is in the fucking toilet mind

  9. how very scientific "right lads, we've pretty much got this geometry lark sorted, down the pub for the next 10k years?"
  10. absolutely had to make that first pass. I'm not ready to write him off, want to see him score and play with a bit of confidence, could be a great creator with that pace and trickery, but doesn't look to have an eye for a pass, or a goal. agree on collo, looks a little bit lost, but he's defo a confidence player, so might take a little while to settle. think it's been a decent half, unlucky to be down, we were dominant before the goal, though that offside just, just right. worrying how they grew towards the end, but I think if we can get a goal they will crumble.
  11. been wanting to see collo in that position for ages, no doubt going to be made look foolish today
  12. aye, def good advice. the lad that gave it his seal of approval does this sort of thing for a living, and is very scientifically-minded, which is why I think it's prob a cut above a lot of stuff.
  13. no, do tell. sounds dodgy. nah, it's legit according to a trainer I trust who's been using it. I won't use it as would interfere with other stuff I do, but basically he gets his meals between 10am and 10pm? or maybe it's 12pm and 8pm and then organises his weight training around that. anyway it's way less severe than I expected when I first read about it. can put you in touch with him if you fancy, gemmill.
  14. It's gonna get a lot worse. aftershock armageddon
  15. you're right that he loves it. not sure it's an age thing, more a personality disorder. good thing he's got no one to argue with!
  16. The brilliant thing is he is such a poor example for the pro-war anti immigration civil liberty eroders he convinces more people to the lefty view than he does his poorly thought out, ill founded views. my word
  17. red=good, 2 litres = I guess red is only good until you've just been raped with a jackhammer?
  18. How can he when the windows closed you tool. are you for real?
  19. that's an awesome sentence, do you mind if I use it?
  20. look, that was ONE girl, ONE time with a harassment suit, it does not reflect how much the rest of them love it, and she was just playing hard to get anyway. still, hope I wasn't being to obtuse with that point
