Well to be fair we were due a tough tie given the quality of opposition we've faced so far.

Away to Chelsea, shite!
-
Love that clip, pity his career has gone down the shitter since he left us. Looks to be on his way out of Ibrox in the summer.
-
We've got a good chance of progressing as long as we avoid Liverpool or Chelsea, Bolton away would also be tough but there aren't too many teams left to be scared of.

Be warned this video is disturbing

Server crashed under the weight of HTT's ego it would seem.

Ah I've been dying to have a rant. I just got back from a lecture and I have never been so close to stabbing someone through the neck with my pen as the guy in front of me. Sitting there with two huge fuck off books, we don't even use books in lectures! And making notes on his fucking laptop, a laptop! What's wrong with a pen and paper you cunt? Plus he was ginger. A mate of mine who should have graduated last year has just started his third degree (dropped out of the other two) doing Film Studies, he should just realise he's a thick bastard and get a job stacking shelves in Tesco where he belongs instead of doing a mickey mouse course but of course while Daddy is bank rolling him he is happy to be a scourge to society.

No but we could do what the smoggies did and say its a bit too chilly to play, they got away with that one.

A touching account of one man's battle to bring success to a passionate club, now try winning a game cunt.
-
Regardless of whether it is his best position he could do the job better than Beckham, the problem is Sven hasn't the balls to restrict or drop Gerrard or Lampard.
-
Nowt wrong with that, she's fucking gorgeous.

Why is that woman still on TV? On further consideration why is that woman still alive? She is indicative of what is wrong with Britain today.

Jackie Fullerton is on drugs, there is no other explanation for him, ever. Didn't watch the match but well done to the lads, hopefully Lawrie can build on this, I'd like to see them do well.

Did anyone expect England to impress with a 4-5-1 system? They don't have the players to work it (pay attention Souey). Sven has got too confident about the team, we all know a full strength England will be 4-4-2 but he thought he could experiment against the lesser nations like Wales and England. He may have got away with it on Saturday and should've tonight but it is soley his fault England got beat. Friendlies are about experimenting, not about bringing on 10 players who are never going to start for England.

This is too true, when Owen was asked about whether he was afraid of losing his place if England played well on Saturday he said no, he'd been in the team for years and wasn't going to be dropped. It must be depressing for a lad like Defoe who could score 30 goals this season and still wouldn't be starting. Beckham should've been dropped for the Wales match to give him a kick up the ass after the Denmark debacle and to prove to everyone that they have to work for their place. I believe that this is England's best chance at winning anything in a long time, they have quality in every position and have finally got Joe Cole to solve the LW problem. The only thing holding them back is Sven, how he is getting nearly £100,000 pw for watching a couple of matches is beyond me. He did well with Lazio but hasn't shown anything with England to prove himself one of the world's best managers. When is the last time England steam rollered any of their poor opposition in qualifying? England are expected to qualify for every tournament, it isn't a huge achievement to do so with the current squad but England haven't made a big impact at any of either of the tournaments Sven has managed them for. The FA have made a real problem for themselves in that Sven is now unsackable due to the huge compensation he would be owed, after all the controversy he has attracted and the poor football he has gave England in return he should've been gone a long time ago.

He's on his way back to full fitness, he's played for their reserves.
-
Can't see Chelsea letting him go unless he engineers a move for himself. Mourhino wants two players for every position and with Gallas unhappy at playing there I don't see why they would sell him. If they do decide to let him go then Spurs being a London club could work in their favour. If we're contending for a CL place in Jan we may have a chance but its highly unlikely.

Indeed something should be done but what? I don't have the answer to that problem but I don't agree with blaming white people for it, yes the people who are to blame are white but the fact that Kanye has a pop at all white people is as racist as saying all black people are drug dealers or pimps. Well a lot of people aspire to be these things, because it brings money and power. Two things most people want but rappers make them think this is the only way they're going to get it. Rapping about working hard at school, staying out of trouble, going to college and getting a decent mid-level job working for the man doesn't sell quite so many records.
-
I'm sure he could front them all a few 'keys' to sell, to earn themselves a bit of cash in the meantime. 28695[/snapback] Or he could just sell one of his chains and buy a family a home.

No, I've already said its harder for a lot of black people and if you read my previous posts I have said it will take a few generations to get equality but yes they should aspire to higher things, I'm not saying they should all expect to become millionaires but everyone should aspire for better things. However the government isn't doing enough to help so I'm saying they need positive role models to show them what they can get if they work harder. A black person who has become a business or political success would be great to see (NOT Colin Powell, he is the whitest black man in America). I'm against positive discrimination, a job should be earned on merit. However for a white person from a decent background and a black guy from a disadvantaged background to achieve equality the black man will have to work a lot harder. And what do these rappers talk about? Guns, women, money and drugs make up a fair percentage of their music. I listen to that sort of stuff but it doesn't have the same effect on me as it would someone growing up in a black hood in America, they can relate to that sort of thing as they've seen it. Their music glorifies the lifestyle which will lead to a lot of them either being killed or becoming druggies, as I have said all along it is the duty of rappers to act as positive role models, however that isn't considered street amongst a lot of them. Rap music doesn't cause a deprived lifestyle but it doesn't help either.

I'm not saying that its simply a matter of choice, its a lot more difficult for people in deprived areas to progress as they aren't given the encouragement either from schools or their surroundings. The point I was trying to make is that people like Kanye are in a position to direct them away from the life many of them will fall into. As he said himself, "Always said if I rapped I'd say somethin' significant But now I'm rappin' 'bout money, hoes, and rims again". Most rappers are like this and IMO aren't the sort of role models these kids need. On the Common song It's Your World he encourages kids to fulfil their potential and has a number of what I presume to be black kids stating their hopes for the future, thats the sort of message rappers should be sending out, not robbing, killing and selling drugs. As I said it isn't easy to progress from these areas but it takes generations, if one family can start it and encourage their kids to do the same then eventually they will get some sort of equality to white people. That may be your experience but I've never seen it. I come from a town in the North with high levels of immigration which only started about 5 years ago. At the beginning it was strange but now it is nothing unusual. The foreigners aren't fully intergrated but I have never heard any racist abuse myself, I am aware that there have been racist attacks in the North but IMO most people condemn this sort of action. Perhaps in Dublin the situation is different, like I say I don't live there but visiting I've never seen any racism. Kanye West is one of the biggest hip-hop stars around. If he wanted to go on Larry King to discuss the situation he could, if he wanted to start a campaign he could. He doesn't have to draw attention to it right now, he has enough power to make it an issue once the more immediate problems have been dealt with.
-
Is that true or rumours?
-
No, apparently we're all too busy laughing at the black people.
-
No I'm not saying they should "shut up and suffer" but as I said in one of my previous posts vilifying white people is not helping, celebrities like Kanye should be trying to break down the barriers rather than building them up and trying to give black people a siege mentality. It was the whole "they're MY people" that pissed me off, as if the victims are closer to him than to anyone else. Yes the majority of people hit hardest were black people but Kanye has taken the focus of the relief effort and onto racism. Now is the time to get aid to those who need it, after the situation has been sorted is the time to ask questions about whether the fact most of the victims were black contributed to delay in the rescue mission.
