Both Emre and Dyer injured again with hamstring problems, fucking typical.

I thought you said it was Wes Hoolahan we were after?

There is no doubt that Owen wants a move to Liverpool, the Liverpool board seem to want him but Benitez seems to be a bit coy. We want him and have the money but it seens Liverpool don't want to look like mugs by payinh £10m more than they sold him for last summer. So Owen's choices are rather limited, either Liverpool stump up the reddies for him or he comes to SJP or he spends the season warming the bench at the Bernabeu. It's really up to Owen himself.
-
Still bollocks, I would like to see the Old Firm broken up, it would do the SPL the world of good but given the financial gulf between the Glasgow teams and the rest I think it'll be hard to maintain.
-
What happened the £20m O'Leary was promised this summer? I don't think he got it, he could be pissed off at that. He's a decent manager, the reputation he has as a cheque book manager is unfair. Don't want Big Sam here, he has talented players at Bolton but keeps them playing ugly football. I'd prefer a decent foreign manager or someone from the lower leagues to them both. We need an inspired performance but FFS has shown he is unwilling to take a chance.

Faye ? Babayaro ? Moore ? 20266[/snapback] 3 alrightish players for £3m, they'll not set the world alight but they're adequate given the money we paid for them.
-
I'd worry about his ability to finish but his pace gets him into good positions plus we've got Dean Saunders to show him how to score
-
We're hardly in the position ourselves to start taking the piss.
-
Very skillfull players, has done well for the Irish underage sides and had two very good games against Deportivo last season IIRC. However lacks the sort of height and strength needed for CM and the sort of pace for a wide player, not sure if he would cut it in the PL.
-
Kuyt, he'd cost less plus Owen's heart wouldn't be in it and would be anchoring for a move to a bigger club.
-
If Spurs weren't interested in a Dutch midfielder then he really can't be up to much.
-
We can't afford to sit about waiting to see if he wants to come or not, we need a decision now so if he says no we can waste our time elsewhere with unrealistic bids.
-
Mmmm lets rescue a PL manager whos facing the sack four games in, sounds like Freddys sort of idea. Jewell wouldn't join us, at least not until the end of the season though he's a manager I like. Mike Newell wouldn't be a bad choice if we couldn't attract anyone with more experience, but then again we'd probably end up with Dave Bassett.
-
You say disappointment but did anyone expect anything different? I knew we would lose but am still pissed off at being proven right.

At least we know where we stand with him, it would've been worse of he had've agreed to join us then demanded a move in May. If he comes I see it as being a mutually beneficial move, we get him for one season and he scores goals for us and he gets to start in the England team for the World Cup, everyone is a winner.
-
Well it looks like we have the Rooney situation again, the only difference is we're not sure whether Liverpool are going to take him. No matter what fee we've agreed I can't see Owen joining us on a permanent deal this season. However if he wants a world cup warm up and wants to whore our club out for the season then that's ok by me, as long as he brings us 15+ goals.

Top woman. Really took the bull by the horns in Northern Ireland and her contribution will never be forgotten. RIP

Just seen this South Park clip, http://www.cartmanthearistocrat.com/ Left me a bit open mouthed.

"Everything's agreed, it's just a case of getting the time this week to just put my name on the dotted line,". That was on the 6th August, he's obviously been busy learning to spell his name since then.
-
No doubt we'll sit waiting for his decision until the 30th August then he'll turn us down and we'll be left with no new strikers.
-
Getting him completely free for the whole season? Sounds like a good deal to me.
