Let’s be honest, we didn’t get £35m for him, we got £15m. Forest had our pants down and there was nothing we could do about it.

The content of this isn't all that shocking when you know who Christopher Chope is but what still astounds me is how he has been elected to parliament TEN times. Despite the Tories completely imploding in the last election he was returned with a majority of 16%.

What type of dog is it? It's not dissimilar to my own. I got the Dog DNA test done but the results looked odd to me.

You mean this for the Yes Gemmill thread? -
Finance would have cost me an extra £10k, that would have been a monumental waste of money.

Jesus Richard Herring is not amused.

I’ve just bought this. No heated steering wheel this time but I’ll have to make do. Still doing my best to save the world unlike you filthy Ford Fiesta owners.

I think it’s irrelevant. They have such a huge majority now that they can be as bold as they want. So far they have been entirely underwhelming. They are restricted by government borrowing rules but hopefully Reeves’ tinkering with the rules will give them wiggle room to do the capital investment the country desperately needs.

Given that the country can’t afford its current day to day running I don’t see how Labour could have afforded that manifesto.

He already turned us down. Which really does speak to his good judgement. -

“You can’t just appoint the U21 managers” ”Well former U21 managers have just won the last two major international tournaments” ”OMG that’s completely different. It doesn’t count. Don’t try to bamboozle me with actual facts” It’s like some people on here don’t appreciate the education they get from me. -

And yet Spain won the Euros and Argentina the WC by promoting their unheralded U21 managers to the senior role. -

Not if they can see a pathway through to the top job. Carsley won the World Cup without conceding a goal. He couldn’t have done any more to prove himself at U21’s. -

Given Tuchel signed the contract before the Greece game your theory on his appointment doesn't hold up. -

I don't see why Carsley wouldn't want it. His comments after the Greece game were obviously that he knew that the job was going to someone else. Giving it to Carsley on an interim basis made sense because if no one else became available it allowed the FA to see how Carsley was performing in the top job and if he was doing okay then it was an easy fall back option and 'evidence' that the pathway for English managers is working. I don't see why they didn't give him a chance full time anyway, he won the World Cup with the U21's and all the players he had seem to really rate him so he couldn't do much more. What seems strange to me is that they didn't sound out Howe at all. He's the standout English manager at the moment and was clearly making noises during the summer that he wasn't happy so if being English means anything when it comes to the England manager's job then it was definitely worth a conversation. -
Ray Parlour has piled on the beef.

Aye. Given his recent comments about going back to the U21’s he obviously knew this was on the cards and picked that team for the Greece match half cut on Skol and Guinness.
