Havent seen anyone else suggest Coloccini should be put out of his main position to play centre midfield in the middle of the season today, if they did I would disagree. Just because he has good technique, probably better than some of our midfielders, doesnt automatically mean he should play there. Im sure he would do a better job than Mike Williamson, but positionally its a completely different game. Makes absolutely no sense letting Saylor or Campbell take his place in the heart of our defence when pacy players like Bent, Agbonlahor and Young are gonna be running at us all day.

It makes about as much sense as Coloccini realising hes a midfielder at the age of 29.

Well article said he just joined in on the warmup and then did isolated "light training". I have no clue how long that's gonna take but I hardly expect him to play in the next couple of weeks just cos we see him jogging with the lads (he has also stolen Guthries sweater ). Ben Arfa can still play as a winger. If we get injuries we can still put him there. At present we have Routledge, Gutierrez and Ben Arfa who are used to playing there (raylor lol). I think one more first teamer should be one of the priorities. As you say though I have no problem with Gutierrez as a squad player, I quite like him and he is by far not the worst player in our first 11.

Nolan ran alot yesterday, and all noises say hes the most professional player in training. Working with Tiote his clever interceptions and positioning are very often quite effective. I thought for most of the championship he'd be a failure when we came up but hes proved me wrong, like alot of the rest of the squad. But Nolan is a very important player for us atm. And anyone thinking he should be replaced before we get a decent Tall CB, 2 strikers, winger and right back are wrong imo. And anyone thinking we are getting 5 quality players are fairly optimistic .
