  8. You can do a search at the Land Registry called an index map search - essentially you mark on the plan the piece of land you're interested in and they tell you who owns it. The length of time you need to occupy land unchallenged before it becomes yours used to be 12 years but has recently been changed so that it's now 10 years, but you don't automatically get ownership. See here I would strongly urge you to make sure whatever you do is agreed with the farmer - you don't want to get into a scrap with him - boundary disputes are notorious for being the most intractable and expensive kind of dispute you can get into It would be very strange if the developer had left a random strip of land round the estate - there'd be no advantage to them and it might carry obligations or complications for the future - it's far more likely that the land is either yours or the farmers, and the boundary on the ground just doesn't reflect that.
  9. And coming up, our first inward transfer of the summer - £15million on Boumsong! For fuck sake, the only thing they could do any worse would be to bring Souness back
  10. Mods can you do something about this langauge. Swearing is swearing but as i'm someone who believes in god, reading that is horrible. Thanks in advance. Why should the rest of us be denied the enjoyment of linguistic inventiveness because it'll offend your imaginary friend? That'll be funny.... When you're in HELL! I've always wanted to meet Andy Hamilton

  12. Good analysis A pertinent point precisely posited I thought we were better off (in a financial sense) though We are The debt is now the problem of the person it's owed to Under Shepherd / Hall, when we finally reached the point we couldn't service the debt, one of the creditors would have foreclosed and we'd have gone down the administration route Under Ashley, that won't happen - it simply means that his shares are worth a lot less than he thought when he bought them. One day he will realise and accept this. Hopefully before he has finished completely fucking the club. Seems to be ascribing him a larger degree of logic than he's appeared capable of so far. Anyway, I still feel that oversimplifies matters given we're a league worse off with a massive wage bill. It also seems to assume any steps the previous regime might have taken in order to correct the problem would have been as catastrophic as the ones Ashley has taken. The only step the previous regime could have taken would have been to use some of the huge piles of cash they took out of the club to pay down the debts and so get the club somewhere closer towards being able to live within its means Chances of them ever doing that? Zero.

  14. I have occasionally thought about joining NUSC, as I support the concept of an independent supporters' organisation with the ability to champion the fans' interests. For NUSC to gain the ability, it will need the credibility that can only come from mass membership. Unfortunately however I have been put off joining NUSC because some of the positions taken by it have seemed to me to be pretty unrealistic. Whatever our thoughts may be on the subject, we cannot escape the fact that Mike Ashley owns the club. He paid a mind-boggling amount of money for it and to demand that he (metaphorically) hand in the keys and walk is simply cloud cuckoo land. For as long as he is the owner we have to deal with him - we can't just pretend he isn't there. If we want Ashley out we should be looking at how we can help him sell up and encourage potential buyers about outr potential for positive benefit to them. If we look like a rent-a-mob bunch of whiners what do we expect? An invitation for lunch in the boardroom? I would like to be able to know a bit more about what the NUSC is aiming for and what it intends to do, but that seems to be possible only if you go to the roadshows. Well, like many thousands of NUFC supporters I live a long way from Newcastle and I can't make the trip just for that. Hopefully over time the web site will address this - in the meantime I can try and read PP's posts on here. I'm sure these things will develop in time and I will keep an eye on NUSC in the hope that I can be persauaded that it's something I want to join. Nothing in the above should be taken as criticsm of the people running NUSC - I'm more impressed and grateful than I can say that some people have got off their arse and done something rather than just bitch on message boards, shame on the rest of us!
  15. Under Shepherd/Hall the debt and wage bill had become unsustainable, and all the income streams (sponsorship, future season ticket sales) had already been mortgaged Administration was a virtual certainty if a sale didn't go through By marrying the debt up to the shares Ashley has ensured that whoever next buys the club will buy it for its true net value and the debt will finally be "written off"
  16. Give me him over Ashley any day! Fool Retard Idiot Seriously, yes Ashley has fucked us over but the club is financially in a better situation than he found it (hard to believe I know but true) Under Shepherd we would have got relegated due to administration points deduction when the club inevitably went bust We were right on th edge when Ashley walked in
  17. No, that would depend on the outcome of administration. But they are free to walk away for £0 aren't they? No, in administration the company's contractual rights are unaffected If the club went into liquidation then the contracts would be terminated and the players could walk Thought in the Darlington administration situation they could (and did) walk away with no fees, but . Maybe Darlington just let them and it was mutually beneficial? The administrator can disown the contracts if he thinks the cost of paying wages outweighs the value of keeping transfer/playing rights - it's his choice though, not the players'
