The Clock. It's a themed bar/museum set in 1980 including the customers who dress up for the times. The lasses will love it. -
Next time he 'can't get no sleep' he should try getting his head down at Selhurst Park, you could hear a pin drop most days.

Exactly. I've had the 'pleasure' of being out of work through the years, (I work in manufacturing), and the benefits are just about enough to live on, some people save money as best as they can from their meagre cash so they can have the luxury of a few cans etc or a treat for the kids but this idea of a large percentage of the unemployed gambling away whilst drinking with a 50" plasma bought from their dole money is just fucking ludicrous when the truth of the matter is people out of work are on the bones of their arse. I've known a lot of friends and acquaintances be out of work and not one of them have lived the life of riley. Maybe it's just a moan perpetuated from a belief of some that they've got to get out of bed in a morning when the unemployed don't have to yet still do alright. It's a myth, they don't do alright, try swapping your worklife for a life on the dole having a lie in but being skint. For all the bullshit about the workshy I'll bet nobody on here, and I mean none, zippo, fuck all would be ecstatic to be put out of work. Why? If this myth about 50" plasma tellys and a life of luxury is true I'd be over the moon to swap work for the dole. It isn't true and everyone deep down knows it but it's nice to have a moan on your break at work isn't it?

It'll save their life when they get stabbed in their ghettoes. 'Shy on work, not so shy on the pasties!' If the editor of the tabloids are reading or Cameron's speech writers, then I'm claiming copyright to that one.

People have already booked and will go regardless. We're not some numbnuts from Birmingham who got all over excited about our first trip to Europe but a support who has took thousands to European trips in a usually convivial, carnival atmosphere. If I were Bruges armed with the intelligence they have I'd much rather have a load of happy boisterous Geordies spending their hard earned in my town than having them watching a game en masse in a public square when they could be all at the game?

Let them eat cake.

I've a pitched fork if that helps?

They were against the minimum wage and full of doom and gloom but I can't remember it destroying Britain, they were all for casualisation of the workforce but 'flexibility' was just an excuse to pay people a lower wage, finish workers on a whim and deny them holiday entitlement, pensions bonuses etc all of which became an entitlement through Europe and not through a benign government. They want to make it easier for companies to get rid of employees. Easier!!! How easier does it have to be? Do you notice a pattern with these wankers? Workshy statements is an old Tory favourite ad they may be far more PR savvy these days than the likes of Tebbitt and his Mistress but they're cut from the same cloth.
-
The club's involved and the Police forces and all relevant authorities liaise before decisions are made regarding ticket allocation, surely they must be well aware of the numbers of supporters already booked up for this game. Giving these people the whole end of the ground, keeping them together knowing they're coming to your Town regardless would surely be the better option? If I don't get a ticket then I'm in Bruges from wed night. I'll be in their end and I won't be alone. Crackers decision by them.
-
TBF if Barcelona knew that NUFC had gave the last club to visit them 5-6000 and their fans had already booked up in droves then you may have a point. Otherwise pretty irrelevant here. Asking for trouble and bad feeling if you ask me, totally avoidable.
-
Agreed in this instance.
-
Well I've booked now so if I don't get a ticket I'm going to completely rat arsed in their town alongside many others. Well done FC Bruges!
-
Trouble is this despicable 'workshy' tag that gets thrown around all the time by papers and Tories with vested interests. The caveat about any 'workshy' statement not meaning those genuine people is just lame and doesn't make those out of work feel any better about, lets be honest, a shit time in anyones life. How about David fucking Cameron standing up at PM's questions and having a pop at the 'Tax-shy' alongside the likes of the Mail? How many millions get filtered away from this government by business?
-
Funny you should post that, CT as just the other day I sent this letter to the Daily Mail on this very subject;

(No need to apologise, Cat, idioteque on the other hand..... Get grovelling sonna.)

The OP really was a bit of tongue in cheek and this morning I even said 'in the grand scheme of things I couldn't give a shite'. If anyone seems a bit on the defensive it seems to be the mods and for why I've no idea if it's just in regard to any of my pretty much innocent posts? As for telling people to 'Fuck off elsewhere'. Why? I don't think anyone's took the piss in this thread or made a twat of themselves I just think a little overeaction from the good guys in charge on this one. Anyway, my OP asked for anyone with an alter ego to reveal themselves. I never harangued the mods! It was light hearted, man!
-
Just wondering who people really are if they're not as they seem. In the grand scheme of things I couldn't give a shite but thought I'd raise the subject as it seemed to crop up a bit lately. Also would find it strange if anyone had alter-ego's as, well, just why would you?
-
Well I'm off to work, when I've time.
-
Look, just don't ask me how I heard, ok? But.......Is Al Pacino's fan a middle aged woman?
-
I don't think these topics run for very long when they get brought up.
-
Maybe put an aka under their post count so the rest of us clueless users can see 'who it is'. Pull your finger out, Ant, there's a good lad.
-
Would like a few more 'Nostalgic' posts and more tales of our clubs past and 'away day' yarns, that sort of thing. (Without being labelled 'Uber-Geordie, 'supa-fan' and all that stuff).

Howmanheyman = Davey Seen a link for here in 2009 and thought there was some canny posters and some good humour although it has to be said the funny pics thread has seriously gone downhill in the last few months.
