  1. Well Stevie was a bit provocative, has had a dig at Ant and maybe went to far in the heat of the argument. I can understand Ant being pissed off but if I was Ant, maybe instead of the requested 'I'm a prick' thread he needs to start, perhaps a 'Ok, stevie, you're back on, chill oot' thread would be in order to coincide with him him being allowed to post again. Stevie is a cracking poster and although I don't agree with everything he says I'd far, far rather he was here than not, particularly as this is a NUFC MB and there is a very large percentage of posters on here who couldn't hold a candle to his experiences and knowledge of OUR club. Ha'way, all involved, sort it out, (and I include Stevie in that!) P.S. Paddocklad, Stevie?
  2. I know you have a thing with Stevie, (McFaul), but you give me the impression sometimes that underneath your placid seeming persona, you're quite disrespecting of us at times in your quest to answer every single thing Stevie says about Liverpool, Everton and Merseyside in general. You may respect your rivals down the East Lancs Road but in your rush to counter Stevie you don't do the same with us. That's ok, I'm not here to tell you who to like etc but what I will say that your idea that Aston Villa are a bigger club than ours is a bit much personally to take. My first away game was at Goodison Park. Everton were a big club and recent champs, I still think they're a big club but they're no bigger than us, I've seen different aspects to Everton, the good and the mediocre, similar to my club really. Anyway, it might suit my needs as a Newcastle Utd fan, but I'll simply give my take on this 'big club' shite. A club, when all is said and done, can only be as big as it's membership, as it's income. That is true of any club, whether it's a football club or a working mans club. By any measure we are a big club. If you take a calculation of recent trophy success to attendance then this can only enhance that theory. Forest and Villa both had a European cup or two in the late seventies and Eighties. Are you seriously telling me they are bigger clubs than us? Leeds fans think they're a bigger club too for a certain period of success which they never really had before or since. It just isn't true. I respect your club's achievements, I admire how you gained success and were shrewd enough to sustain it but I certainly don't think we should ever bow down in this media obsessed World and suck up all the spin and hyperbole that SKY etc ram down our throats. How you think Stevie is a SKY fan just baffles the shit out of me by the way, for any of his faults, (which he has, like us all), he is no no soccer AM fan boy and knows his club and it's history. Shanks gave KK some advice when he was about to sign for us as a player, he praised us to the hilt as a club and said if we took off there'd be fewer bigger clubs in this country. A bit of toffee for us, maybe? Could well be, but it wasn't put out in the public domain in those days, it was a piece of fatherly advice for a young man Shanks had great respect for, (obviously reciprocated), and him alone. I've quite a bit of time for Scousers as most I've met have been sound enough. Unfortunately I've come across a few OOT Liverpool fans who are complete sadsack, gloryhunting arseholes with no idea at all of anything that has ever happened outside of Anfield, a club they have no real connection with other than a need to bask in another city's glory. You're getting dangerously close to being in that group, mate.
  3. Pretty noticeable for a relative new kid like myself that there's a bit of an old skool club on here as I'm totally unaware of a fair few names on the various lists. Might make one of my own when I get a bit of time to do it.
  4. My body really is a temple. The Temple of Doom. (Chez spot on imo.)
  5. I'm picturing Bob Scratchet with old fingerless gloves freezing cold, working in front of a candle.
  6. @Dr gloom, To be fair Stevie's cockney patter is second to none. Yow must, however, be aware that moi brummie is far soyperior.
  7. Must be a real blow when a hero falls from grace, mind.
  8. I do about 1.1 miles every ten minutes and usually run for 50 mins when bad backs/nightshift/life allows. I usually run once a week.
  9. Didn't even give it a thought to be honest Tom but had a gander this morning on the net. Am tempted to just get the LG soundbar that goes with it even though it aint cheap and it can double up by playing music from my phone when me and Mrs HMHM are chilling.
  10. He can play 'Lily was here' on the saxophone to be fair. Can Elliot or Krul?
  11. 'Dollar' Espionage story about an Irish-American spy working for the Nazis as Britain try to secretly smuggle the nations gold to America as we look vulnerable as we are alone against the Germans after France falls and we desperately need to buy equipment to replace what was left in France. Been a good read so far. (got it for only £1.67 on the kindle!)
  12. You were supposed to say....."but then again, too few to mention'. Fucking Ronnie Barker would've killed for that, man! Talk about open goals!
  13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zs9A3sad5lg&list=UUSmnYSUTz1Dyu9DsBGoeGDQ&index=81 3.50 mins, Bobby Charlton with some cup advice at St. James' Park for a young Alan Pardew.
  14. Mine too. .......Meanwhile, in a specifically non-racist Glasgow Chinese gag.... "You wan sore finga on your chip and flied mars bar?"
  15. Just put 'we're doomed' in the image search for Private Frazer and this came up; The internet works in mysterious ways.
  16. Maybe he has, maybe he hasn't. Just beat off a lower division team and he just decides to come on talking about how better/bigger Celtic are than us etc. Whey aye!
  17. On behalf of Meenzer; It's a little known fact that this song was about a Russian looking forward to going to Celtic Park to watch a game.
  18. It's a big club Sheltic fan on to tell us how big Sheltic are. "I will tell you this, Bhoy!!! Weir fickin TTTTHHHHIIIISSSSSS big, so weir!!"
  19. Seemed a lovely place, probably better again when there's no football match going on while you're there. Go for it.
