We got soaked after the game at Wembley but I've no recollection whatsoever of getting back?
-
Aye, TLDR Gemmill but at least it's off your chest now. You'll feel a lot better for sharing it.
-
Well there's two hours of your life you're getting back every day as well as travel costs so that would be a win. My travel time is just 40-50 mins combined on average but that's because it isn't peak traffic times, however, 12 hour shifts mean your time between shifts are precious and every minute counts as I've got to fit food, showers and sleep into what I'm left with.

Apathy can't help but kick in under Ashley and I try to shrug off defeats now probably better than I used to but it's still my team and pisses me off like England couldn't after a defeat. I will say, I far prefer watching international tournaments than the premier League by a mile. I just don't get emotionally invested in it, the Italy Belgium game was a joy to watch as was the Italy Spain game.

It must surely depend on your job/colleagues whether you'd prefer to work from home and obviously how much of a fuck on your commute was? The rate used to be much better, got voted down to today's rate in a pay negotiation which I definitely didn't vote for even though I wouldn't have benefited from it had it gone my way. Was always double time after 12 on a Saturday, time and a half before that and double time plus a lieu day for a bank holiday at my old job so that's the metric I've held on to, rightly or wrongly.
-
I didn't get the app but I'm starting to reconsider for this reason.
-
Our rates are x1.33 or x1.5 on a Sunday or bank holiday. If you're desperate your desperate or if you've known no different I can understand but I wouldn't give up my own time for that rate. This has actually reminded me of CT once railing against the idea of shift allowances in the workplace which gave me a laugh at the time.
-
Totally. As Gemmill says, what's the point of Newcastle United these days? Well the point is, I still support them and at times apathy does kick in but they're still my club. I won't go anymore but I'll still watch them and will go back if he fucks off. England could score a winner in the final and it wouldn't be in the top 100 moments I've went 'radge' at a goal being scored. I'd be happy, I'd shout get in etc but it can never compare because ultimately it's who I am and it's the people you share it with. England can never give me that and never will although they can usually give me a government I didn't vote for. Politics and football shouldn't really mix but it just does and always has.
-
We've had a call for people to stick overtime requests in as there's been a few off but I don't think the football has helped as well as the isolation cases. I wouldn't do overtime out of principle seeing as I've seen overtime rates go down from what they used to be across the industry and I've too much on my plate as it is. (They rarely bother asking me to be fair but every time we get a new manager it doesn't take him long to get the message).

Watching England is probably my glimpse into the mind of a glory hunting fan of the usual suspects. It's nice when you're winning but lacks the intensity of a late winner for your club but on the bright side it's dead easy to brush off when England get beat helped, as Alex says, by a certain section of the England fan base as well as the tabloids.

Pleased to see you back. (Feel free to share any work related issues you may or may not have with your colleagues).

I said to a lad at work when it got down to the nitty gritty Southgate probably wouldn't be good enough and as good a job he's done uniting the players and being a good egg it's not enough if you want to win a tournament. Maybe harsh but he wouldn't get near a top side if he left the England job.
-
(Unless you were listening to one or two commentators)
-
With Gemmill on this. On the whole been a good tournament.

It should be a close game, either could win it but if you put a gun to my head........ Italy.

Fake news. Here's the real photo.....

Wear a helly Hansen top or whatever they're called?

Don't be shy, give them a knock, take some cans and join in, man! You know you want to.

Barbecue next door resumed now?

Big news from Wembley on the day England play Italy in the final of the European championship....... ARE, and I cannot stress this enough, YOU NOT ENTERTAINED, loyal punters?
-
I'll be out so probably won't hear the shite but if I was in it would be BBC all day long. First and foremost, Matterface, the worst commentator I've ever heard is being given the microphone for some big games and that blows my mind tbh, did they not listen to him first before giving him the job? I'd honestly have Charles Harrison or Roger Tames over this knacka. Then there's the adverts plus ITV promoting a premium line phone competition etc whilst the BBC just do it better. Jenas is shite and Ferdinand is a knob but I'd put up with them over listening to the horror show of Matterface and moonface Dixon.

I bought a late 90s Roma shirt from DHGate. It's a good effort even has the Colosseum superimposed on it etc but the trim is yellow and not orange. (It was a punt on a cheap shirt so not the end of the world and nobody would probably know but it's doing my head in as I had the original!)

"For an extra £25 you get a years free membership of the club 1892 help Mike buy a high street shop scheme." "What do I get?" "A free badge, a keyring and emails with 10% off vouchers to spend at selected sports direct shops." "Go on then!"

They'll arrest him just for being English, man! Just say that you're both Islamic, immigrant, lesbian wimmins and they might even get you a house these days.
