Just in the car, coming back stuck BBC Newcastle on, presenter is talking to the Sunderland commentator who's slating the club, apparently Neil has already trained with the squad and travelled down to London but there's still no announcement that he's their new manager and said they didn't bother announcing Defoe until two o'clock in the morning. Presenter then says goodbye and tells the bloke to get himself off to Trafalgar Square as that's where Trevor the Sunderland fan has texted him from saying there's a few of them there already. Me in the car....... 'They're in Trafalgar Square?'

The mad Mackem or whatever he's called can be amusing laughing at his face when they concede as he reminds a bit of Michael Palin in ripping yarns but I sometimes feel a bit sorry for him whereas that Man U kid and the likes of Arsenal TV are just wankers on the grift.

Forgot to add from last night when I heard BBC Newcastle going on about them. Their main commentator, 'Barnsey' plus Gabbiadini were talking about how their stand-in doesn't really want the job then I heard him interviewed......he really doesn't want it, like sounded like a bloke just trying to get on with it but saying stuff like the players apologised but they don't need to apologise to him, admitted their confidence is shot and had no answers it was up to them, said he understood the frustration about not playing Defoe but said he's 39, has played about 19 minutes in over a year and they had a duty of care to him as he might harm more than just his football career if they just put him on basically implying he's an ex-pro in all but name. He sounded resigned, demoralised but just as importantly he shares this feeling with the players who are obviously shiting it. Factor in the fans who are either chucking it or doing their usual mental approach to dealing with their situation then it's a match made in heaven! (And I haven't even mentioned Methvin and the rest who were at their game who are plainly useless/chancers added to the fact they've just been beaten 6-0 then had two consecutive defeats to famous British racecourses. Happy fucking days).

I caught some of BBC Newcastle driving in to work. The natives are restless, the presenters aren't happy, even the arse licking pundits are flapping. Great listening.

Just had a letter from the council warning of a bird flu outbreak in Byker and as I'm within 3km I have to register any birds I have and if I don't have any get in touch if I see any dead wildfowl etc lying about. So apart from climate change, RW power grabs, covid and now avian influenza......what else is coming our way?
