  1. Looking forward to seeing this thread bumped in the near future......
  2. "The only prediction ah'm ganna make is that the beer will get hammered and mebbees Tottenham will anah'll. Lol. Laters!"
  3. "Like Alannis Morrisette said once back in the days of entertaining Newcastle United sides, 'Isn't it ironic, don't you think?' Once loudmouthed, cockney gobshites with holsten piss on their shirts buying our best players plus Kevin Scott and Ruel Fox to now showcasing Son and Kane for NUFC to see if we're interested in buying them? Lol. This is your match thread and I'm the people's chosen reporter, been there, marched up seven sisters, watched some frisk just a few yards away and now telling it like it is, straight from the shoulder like one of my mentors, one John Gibson esq. 'Caaaamm on you Spuuuurs', nar son, pipe doon, the proper chanters are in the smurk today to show you how supping, crooning and hopefully how football is done. Laters, Ryder and out!"
  4. I've started match threads we've won and lost. (Not at the same time, obviously).
  5. We haven't done too badly at Spurs even in the Ashley years, we'll not be favourites but any result here wouldn't be a surprise. Might start it myself as my only visit to Spurs we won as well. Majority say 'no way José' then I'll defer it to someone else.....
  6. Since 1960, sixty two years ago I make it twenty nine years of top flight football with two 7th place finishes being the standout seasons by a mile, twenty nine seasons in the second tier and five seasons, hopefully soon to be six in the third. Four games in Yewrupeyan competition in 1974 before retiring from it forever after a cup final win against Leeds flukier than the career of Alan Shearer. FTM etc.
  7. I'm happy to help those mackems on that video who are puzzled at how things are going? You see, lads, it's because you're club has been utter shit all my life and as I'm getting close to fifty I think it's not unreasonable to assume that this isn't a temporary situation? I hope this helps any visiting MLFs dropping by?
  8. Watched that Falklands documentary on more4 app or whatever it's called? Jesus Christ I almost lost the will to watch it with the scale of adverts that was on throughout, unbelievable. I'd forgotten one of the commanders leading it was one of the junior officers when my old man was a soldier. (Jeremy Thompson).
  9. To be fair this reminds me of the time SCS poached you from MFI and you were put on gardening leave but would sneak in your new job about eight o'clock at night and quickly look at the books, orders and dust and move a few settees around. There's always ways and means.
  10. I think Phillips was a cracking little player to be fair, but he wasn't in the same category as the likes of Shearer. I loved David Kelly Quinny, Goddard and McGhee but even though I can genuinely say Shearer isn't in my top favourite NUFC players I can say without question he was the best striker we've had in my time and probably better than most of the rest of the league's strikers in my time too. I can absolutely see why the mackems revere Phillips though, I mean, there's only really Gabbiadini who comes close and he was strictly prolific second division striker as well.
  11. If it goes wrong just pop a cherry tomato on with a bit chilli flakes.
  12. I was dying to go and my dad, and loads of my family had been in the forces as well but I was only 8 and a half so I had to miss out. (Thank absolute fuck).
  13. 'flukey career', man. They are, truly, fucking unreal. Please never let them change.
  14. I watched a premier League world episode, 33, about NUFC, predominantly interviewing John Hall but with a few ex-players, wasn't too bad, was on for half an hour but they had the lass from true faith, Charlotte, I think? She's good the odd time I've heard her, isn't a stammering gimp and she always comes across well but I can't help but think it's always the same people representing the fans, (could be far, far worse in her case), but here's the rub, it's the same faces even when discussing events where they'd have been young bairns if they were born at all? To me the Keegan entertainer years bits and bobs TV sometimes do almost always miss a massive point and you can tell any 'bairns' miss it too by not being around and old enough, and that I really think you had to be around the club, going to games for a few years before to properly drink in the dramatic change and to have truly enjoyed and felt it. Even daft stuff like us laughing at the backpass change as it was nothing to a passing, progressive team like ours was where other, lesser teams honestly couldn't get their heads around it even picking it up, knowing they couldn't pick it up but doing it anyway as their conscious brain fart was played out in front of thousands of laughing supporters. Anyway, like I say, it could've been a pudding like Pearson sitting there talking as if he was an audience member on Rolf's cartoon club.
  15. I've walked into SJP around the pitch and on the terraces/stands pre-season when gates were open and nobody gave a fuck as long as you didn't take the piss. Obviously I was around his age then but I wasn't filming myself or being a dick.
  16. Pretty sure I saw a channel 4 doc a few years ago and it was quite scathing of the planning and blasé attitude towards massive risks that was taken with others lives. They were sitting ducks. I wonder if this is a repeat or a new programme?
  17. I've seen the odd show in the past about the Falklands and most weren't sugar coated, where did you see it, Alex?
  18. Glad I wasn't such a fanny on any of the occasions I've been thrown out. Pfft. NUFC to Pearson, take a hint, Clint, fuck off.
  19. It looks like Gateshead FC moved to Deutschland and got a makeover.
  20. Next time just ask me* first, Rob. *Discreetly.
