  1. Ours is a 'lop-sided' ground but has the same dimensions as theirs as in a third tier loops around a main stand and an end behind the goal.
  2. Pretty sure the football league are more strict for financial irresponsibility so getting relegated could turn out to be worse.
  3. I'd love to meet up with a few of you but that's the day I turn 50 so I'm hoping I'll be somewhere else a bit warmer.
  4. Found one of his reviews.
  5. Can only echo what the lads have said, Craig. It's a battle you've fought for years from the sound of it but hopefully you'll be getting some reinforcements to help you. And you're still here for yourself and other loved ones which is important. My daughter was at a friend's funeral this morning who took her own life just before her 21st birthday. Life is so fragile so just pleased you can see the value in reaching out. It has to and will get better.
  6. Just win, nowt daft required. These gave us a bit of a game in the second leg at SJP after we blew them away early on so that's a lesson that we need to resist getting the cigars out too early but that arsenal result and last night should've killed them.
  7. The changes to personnel probably didn't help at first glance but when you factor the frenetic Everton early harrying and tackles and the ability to not flog our players to death when asking a lot of them then it's the long term correct action especially when you're playing a team who struggle to score. Gives everyone a chance, keeps their hand in and gives a breather to those who need it when we've three games in a week. Just got to pick and choose the games when.
  8. Well it's all been said on here, how fucking special is this Isak? Good players aall ower the shop but this kid is the real deal. Anyway, sorry to spoil the good mood but I just put sky sports news on to watch the goals and one of their main stories is some rehashed bollocks about the Saudi ownership where in an interview with villa's chairman he says they've broken no rules so that's some pretty serious story after Man U throw away a two goal lead and we win 4-1. Also had two journalists on, one reckoned Howe might have a shout for manager of the year but it could depend just how far O'Neill takes Bournemouth up the table this season. #Rattled
  9. BT sport having Lescott, a lass and Michael fucking Owen on. They need to get on board that we're one of the big lads now.
  10. Fulham went to to Everton on a recent afternoon game, their fans treat it as 'just Fulham', weren't up for it and the players are struggling and got beat. That's an advantage the likes of Fulham, Bournemouth, Palace etc have which rarely gets mentioned if it gets mentioned at all, they're just low key games which home fans don't massively get up for which has to be to their advantage in their away games. Games between big northern clubs will never have the same feel as you sometimes/usually need a bit of needle.
  11. Some of their supporters are going full on tonight so it's going to be a raucous atmosphere around the game, like them or not, so I think Eddie might be advised to rest any players on Sunday rather than this game, obviously the atmosphere will take a turn for the worse if we score early on or we have them chasing shadows but, as usual, the PL planners have given us a harder Goodison fixture than they could've done. That's not wetting any knickers, that's just the situation and it does play a part as you only have to look at Villa park the other week and SJP for the last couple of years to see the help it can give to a side. Frustrate their lot early on by showing them the difference in personnel and rising above the niggling tackles etc they'll be doing as they know it's their best chance. I'm hoping we have a good start or this could be a bit of a shitty night, had a little look at a couple of their YouTube fan stuff and they're very much aware of the shit they're in and know they're best chance is to make it as hostile on and off the pitch. This could be a good practice for any future derbies if Barcerland AFC get promoted about being professional and strong so your football wins out and you end up tucking them in after they've worn themselves out. Also, not a big fan of us wearing the white and green strip which we apparently are. I'd settle for four points between this and the Southampton game if offered although would be cock-a-hoop with all six. We're brilliant on our day and resilient but let's not forget we don't always have things our own way even in some wins. Prediction: 0-2.
  12. His quickness of feet to control and get a shot off helps a lot, his second against spurs evidence of that. Improvisation to make sure it hits the target like at forest when the cross is slightly behind him, cool as a fucking cucumber to slot it home like the pen at forest or his first v spurs and his two at Anfield. He looks very much unflustered with the potential to be an excellent modern forward/striker. It's these kind of purchases which have me feeling an unusual amount trust whenever we get someone in under this regime, never mind the coaching when they're here.
  13. I put radio Newcastle on tonight on my drive to work, first twenty minutes of the show were all about Sunderland including interviewing players because obviously they've moaned somewhere along the line of bias and magedia so I'm guessing BBC Newcastle must take turns each who starts off to try and quell the paranoia? Anyway, I thought all this Barcelona stuff was just an rtg thing but the Sunderland reporter, one of their players and another ex player in the studio had me almost convinced about how fucking superb they are, apparently they've a decent record scoring goals late on as the opposition are fucked at the end of games after spending all of the match chasing after the ball as the fifties Mackem Magyars caress the ball around puskas style. The ex player says his favourite time as a fan was watching Denis Smith's side getting promotion from division three and was jealous of today's 16 year olds travelling around the country watching the quality of football that Sunderland are putting out every week. I got to work without hearing anything NUFC related but didn't mind as it was a pleasure hearing just how good our mates down the road are.
  14. One of the times I went that I've mentioned, 25,000 there including one end of the ground being us in the shiny new premier league but they were in a massive huff as I think the realisation that their mid 80s glory days were well and truly over must've kicked in and Mike Walker was their manager. They did somehow win the cup a year later but that was a pure anomaly, they were shite and they knew it.
  15. "My god! I've found it. I've finally found it!"
  16. A ten thousand difference between a club in seventh place in the first division compared to a club 3rd in division two may seem a lot now but was probably the equivalent of a twenty thousand difference back then. As PL says, they won the fucking cup and were on the up winning the league the next year. And before anyone states that one club city bollocks, I think it was also PL who said that the population of Merseyside is roughly the same as the population of Tyne & Wear who also have two clubs, but with a far longer lean period behind them than the Merseyside lot.
  17. The players knew they were a shambles and went for the jugular, that's a very good sign.
  18. Have to say, had a look on one of their forums and what a bunch of ignorant cunts and I'm not even joking here. The fish goes to the trouble of putting a map on showing them the best places to go and general advice and doesn't get one reply let alone a token 'cheers, mate' then he replies to another couple of posts and again is completely ignored. Now this would usually be a little ribbing at Dave but another poster on there mentions he can't watch the match as his FiL has just died and only one of the cunts bothers to offer condolences. They're a different breed down there, I feel I have fuck all in common with them which is yet another reason England leave me cold.
  19. There's only one club he'd go to now, the club that would pay the cash and need him the most, Man United. They have a history of getting top strikers from other 'top' English clubs and this falls into that bracket. You'd hope that although he will undoubtedly make them better it might be a case of the rest of their squad suffering from the reduced money available to strengthen if they pay top dollar for Kane. Top heavy up front, weaker elsewhere especially if injuries kick in and the amazing coach ETH plays him to death when they're in the latter stages of all comps.
  20. The year before they won the league their attendances were pitiful for a supposedly big club. Low crowds were across the board but they're so big and historical I would've thought they should've had a few more in than they did. Maybe they're just full of shit or young'uns laying claim to a decent team they weren't even born to see.
  21. TBD, you are spoiling us with your grandad story.
  22. The second time I went to goodison I didn't have a ticket and had to sit roughly where the away fans are now, I was spoilt for choice as apart from the entire end behind the goal being sold out to our fans the rest of the ground, including where I was, was almost half full. 25,000 including at least four thousand of us on a Saturday afternoon in the PL but let's talk about a less than full away end a decade into Ashley's tenure on a midweek game. Let's also not bother mentioning their away ends up here that haven't been sell outs during midweek. Strange bunch at times these. Amnesia FC.
