Not really but in a way that makes me think they must be serious? A normal interview, a written test and/or some kind of rig test would be more than enough. If after all that it turns out to be Mickey mouse they'll just see a dust imprint of where I was standing.

As far as I'm concerned they're all full of shit but there's enough between the lines where what he says might be legit?

I'll see the agency lad on Wednesday when I'm off and take it from there. Apparently it's not a 'normal' temp job as he's strict on who he puts forward for his client, (I'm supposed to do a ten minute presentation after my interview if I agree to doing it ) so it might be legit so I'll just suck it and see for a bit. The presumption is you get taken on after three months and your wage goes up when you pass certain bits of training. We'll see.

Look at the poor cunts who got a cannonball through the gut so some aristocrat could make a name for himself whilst the new superpower Britain had one of the poorest populations going if you took the extremely wealthy toffs out of the equation. 'They gave their lives so their families could be evicted into a ditch just so Lord Melchett could have a 300 acre estate with a mansion and die of syphilis after shagging everyone who he could whilst pissed as a cunt and on opium.'

I didn't really give it much credence other than a piss take but when I saw certain guests in Saudi Arabia for a bootcamp you're thinking how the fuck did that come about? Pearson was one but he wasn't the only one, then some lad gets a ticket for Brighton who apparently was a Saudi red before and he's in the executive box getting wined and dined because sershul media. Look at that Roberto quasi-journalist? who happens to be an American Paraguayan (and didn't like to mention it), people falling over themselves to make sure he's looked after because he kept going on about NUFC and Miggy. Then you look at those still there or those who aren't who wouldn't get the lickings of a dog. Anyway, good luck if you can get it I suppose but it's not for me. Enjoy the ride those still clinging on.

Maybe it's just me, but Remembrance Day used to be largely about old soldiers, (and very old soldiers from WWI) solemnly marching to pay respects to their comrades who died. Now they're all gone or virtually all gone. I know there's the Falklands, Iraq etc but to me it needs to toned down reflecting the fact the soldiers and their families who actually did remember them are now passed away themselves. Far from staying as it was it seems to be even more ramped up every year, it's a borderline fetish with some and if it was me who served the last thing I'd want is the whoppers who make it something it isn't supposed to be, like a patient after a disaster having some Tory cunt coming to my bedside for a photo opportunity, they'd be told to fuck right off.

Every time the camera shows their crowd they all look miserable as sin.

The presenter on sky Saturday reckons we're struggling in Europe.

Good luck with it. I think I'll take the job if offered, mate of a mate has an uncle working somewhere else which I'll keep in reserve if needs be, bit further out but I don't think it's twelve hours?

I'm hungover and expecting a call about a job today after brief chat yesterday but we ended up being too busy to talk properly about it. I'm massively torn because it's a supposedly temporary paycut, I'd start as a temp and it's not only 12 hour shifts, nights included but also will almost certainly involve weekend working. I haven't exactly been blown away by what's out there and definitely haven't been blown away with some of the wages on offer but after probably applying for around twenty jobs have had little to no replies despite being more than qualified for some of the jobs. I've had a few agencies phone me about jobs which either I've knocked back or they've moved the goalposts wanting me to start earlier than I can, (despite them already knowing when I'm finishing? Bizarre). I need the money and am panicking a bit so will probably end up taking it if offered but I really don't want to for the shift pattern it is. The good thing is it's probably closer than my current job and I've noticed a lot of the jobs advertised are too far away if you work twelves so that's in it's favour. If the wife worked I'd be ok for a while but she can't so..... Basically my head is battered. Even if the wage stayed as it is I'd be the same financially if I payed the mortgage off in February with my redundancy and bonus, (the bonus, even more bizarrely I have to wait for despite finishing in three weeks). I feel I'm fucked if I do and fucked if I don't.

I wouldn't say it was exact but I noticed a lot of the prices for food and drink roughly matched up with here when I went, so for example a meal was ten quid here, it was ten dollars there so the exchange rate really did come into play for me.

Only time I've ever been it was virtually $2 to the £1.
