  1. Sounds like a bit of a knob, then. Suppose it could depend how the person got talking to him in the first place, though.
  2. Heard Saint Deniall on Legends while back about it . Said would love to see it happen and would be first to persue it if given any inkling of it being possible but was pretty much resigned to it never happening in the forseeable . Shame . . Having said he was going to lobby MPs about tax breaks for footballers so Im not sure how savvy he actually is . The hairdye's clearly permeating his cranium . Was interested to hear what actual line on it is but assume the OP was just posting and passing by . . He's got zero interest in it. But he'll find time to lobby MP's on tax breaks for footballers?
  3. After the first five games or so I wouldn't be surprised to see us virtually bottom of the league before we pull away and gain some points.
  4. Would love it to happen but the Police and the Authorities wouldn't because they'd fear hard work and the clubs would prefer seating too. So basically thats just some supporters who are for it. We count for shit, mate.
  5. I loved 'Boys from the black stuff' to be fair. Bleak times in certain Labour supporting heartlands and Black stuff was the dark side of the brilliant Auf Weidersehen Pet.
  6. I know it's always been that way. And I know the gulf has got wider. I don't see your point. But I do know that I don't find it particularly impressive when a club spends lots of money and consequently win a trophy. I find it impressive when a club exceeds its outlay, regardless. Do you enjoy the company of men? :icon_lol: :D Only men that don't spend more than 60% of their take home pay on him. He doesn't like to be spoiled. Why spend money on a diamond ring when Nick can have have a sore one for zip?
  7. Realistically, who would buy him? By and large, 2nd div clubs don't pay big transfer fees these days, there's no way they'll get even half of their asking price. If Best stuck around and managed to get a few goals then a struggling side in the PL may sign him in january for over £2M.
  8. If this is true and if the club are party to making it known Best is no longer required, then they've knocked at least a million off his potential price by letting it know he's not wanted.
  9. What's the obsession with 5 year contracts? It means fuck all, he was contracted to us for another two years. Should've just kept him to see how our new recruits turned out and looked to sell him if everything was rosy with our new lads next winter or summer and he wasn't getting a game. Or heaven forbid, injuries, shit form and a lack of goals from the new kids would've meant him actually playing a big role next year.
  10. For some reason I could imagine Pardew selling digital watches on the Quayside for a pahnd.
  11. Horse racing fan, mate? A couple of tips for you; Dinner Hour, 12-1 Wet Paint, (Sticks to the fences, mate).
  12. CT, why do you keep going on about not signing contracts in jan? Barton has a year left and Nolan two. That means they are our players under contract.
  13. They didn't have to sell him. It's that simple. I'd love to know what the fee was for Nolan.
  14. Independant Wish he would just shut the fuck up. He's made his position untenable so the sooner he's gone the better. Playing nicely to the fans and whipping it all up but its only creating bad news stories about the club and wont be endearing new signings. As far as I'm concerned, when he can't pick a pass or slates my city he's made himself 'untenable'. I'm sure new signings wont give a fuck, by the way.
  15. Some of, the minority on this board, dont totally agree with that viewpoint. We have looked silly for quite a few years paying mega wages to the useless Mark Vidukas and Alan Smiths of this world and many many more. A calamity jane of an owner true, but one who at least seems to be finally bringing some order back to the club. Most of us will judge this window once it is finished but quite a few realise that we've probably had the best out of Nolan. He played well in the championship in a pretty decent side, playing decent football. How he will fare two years later in a poorer side with the destroyer of football as manager...... I will wager if you pop back onto this forum in August we will all be very excited and very confident about the season ahead. I'll be back mate. I have had a blast here Tonight. And I will let you lot know when I have made my post that contains your posts for which we can expect from Nolan. Once Again....Thanks a lot for the response and I really hope everything works out for your beloved club. Just because of Tonight, I will most probably keeping 1 eye on Newcastle to see how they are doing and another eye on Swindon Town to see how Paolo Di Canio is getting along with his first management job. Take care you lot and good night! Typical southern kid canni take the pace, has a shandy for bed. Shandy? A bit too strong for me mate! I am in the process of heating up my hot chocolate and might even treat myself to a few hob knobs! ....after you've knocked one out over the fantasy channel freeview, obviously.

  17. I'm sure Clive Allen signed for Arsenal for a million but went onto Spurs without playing a game.
