  1. I take it 'Howeyman' is me? Don't sound a lot like him to be honest, CT, he's a more posher Geordie for the telly and my voice is deeper than his as well. CT Brendan Foster. (on straight away despite the picture of KK) Jedward is Kevin. For some reason, Chezgiven's voice would be; Quentin Wilson
  2. I'd say cricket is like quite a few sports where its canny to play but I just couldn't sit and watch it. Look at snooker. Who wouldn't want to pick up a cue and have a couple of games if you had a free, pristine table and a nice cold pint on your table? However, ask me to watch it and thats a different matter, I'd sooner watch an episode of Emmerdale Farm to be honest.
  3. Best value? Rob Mcdonald. Not my own personal view but Jim Smith got a new kitchen and a holiday with the backhander he must've got from the agent for signing this duck egg. KK for the long term benefits he brought to the club must be one, also Jackie Milburn would surely be another if you were counting all time players, cost nothing, wouldn't have been mega rich and was a goalscoring legend when we won trophies. David Kelly may have saved the club from wandering around the lower leagues for a few years so you could certainly add him to the list.
  4. So hang on, Obertan is his replacement is he? Hmmmmn..... So. You give away the superior player only to pay £3.25M for his inferior replacement? And this is beneficial to NUFC because...........? Where is Nick from Poland when you want his opinion?
  5. only Tiote and Colo left now CT. Your man's doing just great. Oh Collocini! You made us swoon and sigh! Oh Collocini! Your wage was just too high! Oh Collocini! They want Cheick to go toooo!!
  6. If Barton is away to talk to QPR and goes for free then is anyone on here seriously going to champion that move? So out of our first two games one of our top players who was instrumental in getting us 4 points is going to be allowed to go for nothing. Where's the sense in that? Where's the benefit to NUFC? Is it because he was critical of the regime and they'd sorely love to have his high wages off the bill whether he's an important player or not? If it looks like shit, it smells like shit, it usually is shit. How much evidence does anyone need?
  7. Don't know what what it brings to the debate, but remember our bus driving near Highbury on the day of the Hillsborough disaster and we saw a black Arsenal fan boddy popping in an old fashioned phone box much to everyones amazement and amusement, I don't honestly think I'd seen many genuine blacks at the time and being small minded provincials the whole bus started giving the monkey chants and having a good laugh to which the Arsenal kid laughed back and did this body popping move which ended with him giving us the finger to which he got a roar of laughter and a standing ovation off us. Different times though.
  8. Had a Welsh sports teacher called Tom Jones. Useless bit of info No: 4352
  9. There's one by Seaton Sluice that is canny but I can't remember its name and there's a new one opened in Station Road in Wallsend called 'Frydays' which has on my 4 visits so far been top notch, just as good as the new Gormans in Byker. Mind there's some very average ones about.
  10. After three. One, two, three..... "Rewe-ban Ag-bewe-la"
  11. now and growing up; 3.13 miles PR Newcastle United Football Club 8.17 miles PR Sunderland AFC Born; 5909 miles PR Newcastle United Football Club
  12. One of the daft bastards reckons Collicini needs to have a long hard look at himself following his rolling around at the sending off incident. I honestly think if the roles were reversed we'd be moaning our tits off at getting beat and being shit, at least half the fuckers think they outclassed us while some are looking at the 'bigger picture' as if it doesn't matter. That's the biggest joke. Of course it matters, it matters to us and by Christ it matters to them! When you've Sunderland's record against us you can bet it matters, it gets under their skin, even their daft manager was publically declaring he had a record lined up to play at full time before last seasons game, for fucks sake! You'll never beat us! You'll never beat u-u-us! Steve Bruce you're an arsehole! And you'll never beat us!
  13. Apart from the silk scarfs, why not get a black & white tartan kilt out for the summer months, get a bit of fresh air to the legs? (Taches can be grown at the wearers discretion)
  14. Keep your chin up Chez, you're just as important a member on here as anyone else, you remember that. Now strap your helmet back on and watch where you write with those crayons.
  15. Over the moon with the four points, most points already made, defensively some very good displays, midfield looked a bit shaky at times but will do well in most games, Cabaye I feel will only get better, Tiote definitely will get better, up front we're as weak as piss, thought Shola did ok on his own as it happens, that was risky by Pardew and it didn't look like coming off in the first half, play like that in a game where we go a goal down and it doesn't look good. After the first two games I don't think we'll go down and I was worried about it, don't think we'll finish in top half either with the same squad, goals mean points and we've lost our two main goalscoring threats whether people think it was too good to turn down or too long a contract blah, blah, fact is those goals need replaced. In short, some good signs also a few bad signs.
  16. I was told you get salt and sauce when I went to an Edinburgh chippy. It was just a mixture of broon sauce with vinegar if you ask me, tasted just like vinegar really.
  17. I can think of very few, and I mean less than 5 top flight gates of 15,000. West Ham in our final game of our relegation season of 1988/89 was 14,000 and err, I'm struggling a bit now, and I've been going since 1983. Think we had a similar bad gate in our last match the previous relegation in the late seventies. When it comes to attendances if Mackems think they've a claim to good loyal support then they can't possibly have a go at ours which has historically been better even bettering theirs by thousands when in a lower league. The rest of the shite they've come out with is basically a bunch of straw chewing, fucking imbeciles sitting round a camp fire telling tales about the Bogeyman, each Dough-heed trying to better his mates NUFC story with one of his own. Why was the Roker derbies I went to never sold out in the late eighties/early nineties? Sunderland weren't that keen on coming up here and thats a fact borne out by the length of time it used to take them to sell out their away allocation. A derby at Roker was a mass mobilisation of Mags wanting to go and the fact there was always hundreds in their end at every derby I ever went to proved it, (and they didn't all stand quietly either.) Fucking no way was that in any way, shape or form the case in the reverse fixture and they know it.
  18. Any recommendations for a new mobile? I've kept my old one for a bit and got a real cheap good deal for doing it but the internet keeps going off on it and its time to bite the bullet and get a new one. Want something unlocked or tmobile so I can switch sims and keep the good deal I'm on and am looking at something no more than about £120. Are the android phones that big a deal?
  19. Agreed, and I couldn't stand Nick's threads. Maybe a temporary name change to Tampaxtastic is in order to help this MB through its recent bad period until normal service is resumed.
