Fuck off, I take offense at that. As do I Mea Culpa! Sorry lads, was trying to think of another country similar to the US where football isn't the main sport, I know you two know your football stuff. I'll go and sit on the naughty step for 38 minutes.

Is praise from a complete gump worth anything? Have you seen some of the people Louis Walsh praises? Fucking Jedward. Fuck off, HF! CT thinks I'm a canny poster. You can't take that away from me!! (CT)

I must admit, I find it very amusing when Yanks/Aussies/Cockneys/Talksport try and talk about football and NUFC in particular.
-
Fuck off. Well it makes a change from the 'well known fact they used to average eight facking fousand in the old 2nd division before facking Keegan went there', to be fair, mate!

England team banned from wearing a poppy!
Howmanheyman replied to nufcboy's topic in Newcastle Forum
My problem with the Mail article started with the headline - "Outcry as England stars are banned from having a poppy on their kit" It's misleading on several points.. 1. There was no outcry. Their story was the start of the outcry 2. There's not a ban for England, it's a ban for all international teams 3. It's not a ban of the poppy, it's a ban for any logos 4. There is not a star in the England team, every one of them is a c*nt. The "FIFA are Nazi sympathizers" guff takes it to Vizian levels. That is basically it in a nutshell. My old man was in the Forces as was his Dad in WWII, on my Mothers side there were relations who were shot and one who was blown up trying to keep peace and order in N.Ireland. This has fuck all to do with anti-Poppy and everything to do with sensationalist headlines by a paper well known for it. Thats all really. -

We really shouldn't be finishing below 7th this season with the points on board we have. If we average a point a game for the rest of the season that gets us 52 points which would be there or thereabouts. (Everton finished 7th with 54). -

It's the Mail, man. They must've had a day off from their normal 'immigrants/workshy/scroungers/benefits culture' investigations. -

FIFA is a Worldwide governing body and this rule is in there for a reason. No exceptions, sorry that's the rules etc. But it isn't fair? I'm sure any nation could say that and twist it. The National shirt should have fuck all on it in my opinion bar the Country's crest. I don't think they're being anti-anybody, just saving potential hassle and it's far easier to just put a blanket ban on any emblems, good or bad. I honestly think it's just the Daily Mail being outraged on behalf of Their Non-benefit claiming, tax paying readership. I doubt FIFA will be bothered if the players and Staff all wear a Poppy on their suits before and after the match, Is there any rule in place to stop Capello or any players wearing one in the press conference they'll give a day before the match? Much ado about nothing. -
Newcastle United vs Everton match thread

I was shiting myself when Cabaye went off then they scored but we kept at it depite the injuries and to get 6 points from our last two games is a great testament to the teams workrate and belief. Read and saw a few pundits predictions of this game and almost to a man they said 'draw', (Lawro went for an Everton win). I think they're enjoying proving people wrong, (and I include myself in that list). I'm actually not as worried about the next three games as I don't think the same pressure will be on to get three points as there was against Everton today and our last home game v Wigan. As long as the workrate keeps going we'll get what we get and move on. P.S. Had a look at RTG. I never realised just how well we are doing considering our side is littered with 'Championship' players. Makes our run look even better! -
Reasoning behind supporting Newcastle United.

How long a Toon Fan : About 30 years Why the Toon : Was going to say because it's my local club, but it's a little bit more than that. There's something about this City which is great and unique which our club manages to magnify. I defy any true Geordie to have stood on the terraces as a kid and not have your breath taken away by not just the beer smells and the farts, but by the brillant humour and patter that came from the older lads and blokes, in fact the atmosphere as a whole. Once sampled, you could never contemplate following another club. Location : NE6 Toon Games been to : Have had the odd self imposed exile but it has to well into the hundreds including many aways. 1st game was Shrewsbury at SJP in the 2nd Div and we got beat. Wouldn't know where to begin with favourite games but random ones that stand out for different reasons; Boro away 3-1, Derby away 4-1 loss, Portsmouth home 1-0, mackems 5-1, any mackem game at Roker, Everton 4-0 loss away. Tons more to be honest, this off the top of my head. Where we have been / are going : Seen the lows, seen the highs, then back to mediocre. Fuck knows where we're going but I have no trust in our owner. I sincerely hope he proves me wrong. -
Going away for a short break away with a girl I've been 'getting on with'. Left things for a bit as it seemed too soon after my separation and wasn't sure how my ex would react as well as the kids, but as my ex had a date the other week then its all systems go!

Best not buy any flat pack furniture from IKEA if I was you, mate.

My Dad bought the Mail today, so I had a look at the Sports section as you do. No report on our match or the Mackems but five pages on the Manc derby. This in a North East edition of the paper.

Was on the main news, (SKY I think), saying Newcastle Utd are selling season tickets for half price as their average attendance is 6,000 down on last year. Said with a smile on his face unaware that he was telling a factually incorrect piece of news.

Great post by a Man Utd fan here, agree with every word, and I'll also say that our relative success in the mid 90's and early 00's was entirely funded by our business, our fanbase and our hard work. Man City are the scum of football, in so many ways. What a load of moaning, sanctimonious, steaming pile of shite from that Man U kid! Every successful club in its past has had its backers, and if a Man U fan thinks Man U haven't bought or tried to buy titles he's in fucking cloud cuckoo land. They spent 26 years trying to do it but never managed it. Ah! but it was their own generated money! Was it? At a time when there was no money in the game Man U didn't do too badly for backers, Liverpool had the pools dynasty on their board and a few managers who built steady, year in, year out. I tell you what, you think Man U would've respected us had we won the title? No, we would,ve bought the title too. Sugar Daddy Hall would've bought it for us, (according to them). If Man U are so fucking massive and generate their own wealth which is true NOW, then its been made when great wealth has went to clubs in the right place, at the right time. You could just as easy say to a Man U fan, that they had built a decent side in the late fifties but owe their universal appeal to a tragic plane crash when football supporters weren't so partisan. Do I like Man City's leap through Arab money? No, course not, same as Chelsea. But to hear moaning from these cunts is music to my ears. And he's talking out of his arse about Leeds. Leeds are not as big as Man City. Aye same here. There is no arrogance in world football to rival the arrogance of Man U fans. It is all to do with being the country's media darlings for the last half century and it is the very epitome of a divine-right mentality. City are spending money that has absolutely nowt to do with the club's own natural resource base, but so fucking what-that's an issue for all of modern football, not just Man U. On the other hand, City haven't had a completely-free-of -charge national media PR machine for the last 50 years as Man U have. "United" this, "United" that, no wonder Man U can afford to spend more 'within their own means' if every five year old in the country is wanting a Man U home and away shirt every season because they don't even hear "United" are from Manchester. To those kids, "United" are the the de facto national team. The comment about it not meaning the same to City fans if/when they win something 'compared to them' is the most deluded/arrogant statement of all though. If City won the title, in terms of what it means to their fans it'll eclipse any enjoyment Man U have derived from a title since '93-and they know that fine well which is precisely why they're trying to come out with that shite as early as now. Anyway to be fair today, to keep it in it's proper context Man C just had the better players and were scoring 5-a-side goals and it was hilarious to watch OT emptying in humiliation as they need a dose of humility. Man U should still be favourites for the league though as Fergie doesn't worry at all about losing games like this or Liverpool?Chelsea etc etc, he knows over a season Man U will beat the inferior teams that Man C are more than capable of not turning up against, so it's just a case of enjoying it for what it is, and that was a good old fashioned dry bumming in their own back yard. Spot on.
