  1. Happy anniversary and hope things can settle down, I'm also worrying about parents etc and it's a shit part of getting to our age. No it's literally ten minutes walk from my door if I take a shortcut, it's in Walkergate.
  2. Btw, 21st century tunes you like to hear, I'll say Moloko and 'sing it back'. Catchy as fuck and still sounds current.
  3. What a lush few days, sitting in the garden enjoying the week off before I start (another) new job*. Could've started today but it's our anniversary today and meant to be nice all week so I negotiated a start next Monday instead. Had a look around the place and hard to judge what it'll be like but I couldn't have asked for a better location or work hours, the holidays are 'normal' (for me) and not the shit UK statutory allocation however for the first year I'm on minimum wage (it won't rise too much after that) and the wife is applying for universal credit to top us up, (she could've been claiming this for about twelve years, it wouldn't have gave us much extra at my old place but it would've paid her national insurance contributions which is why we looked into it and found out about it). I never see the rags/govt going on about benefits not claimed but she also saved the government thousands by not claiming DLA years after she could've as well. Anyway, I've made sweets to make people fat, made beer to make people drunk and fat so will be now making implements and aids to help people walk or save them from discomfort so I'm making amends for my previous wicked occupations. (If anyone has any halo's lying around, prepare to crown me now). * If anyone fancies a flutter, see Rishi's Conservative Bets LTD for the best odds of how long I'll stay? (But remember folks, please gamble responsibly).
  4. I wish I was present when A.Tory-Cunt MP comes out with the usual 'hardworking tax payer' spiel. I'd ask them what they're going to do for the 'moderately working tax payer' as well?
  5. Honourable 21st century, (just) mention to Kylie in 'Spinning around'. Maybe not the catchiest of the 21st century but still decent and of course her fabulous arse in the video.....
  6. Dee lite was about 1990 wasn't it? (great tune though).
  7. I hope he has the same attitude about Man United knowing their 'role' if we overtake them on a regular basis.
  8. Help m'boab! Poor cunts. You just knew it.
  9. That video gave me a laugh and it's clever how they do it but I think I really do need to re-evaluate my life watching all sorts of shite like that even if it's only the odd, bored half an hour.
  10. I was at one of his and arsenal's old Tyneside haunts last night at the hotel du vin. Apparently Arsene had evening strolls and was very friendly and jovial with the local population but that was him walking along to the quayside. I'd have loved him to have walked up byker bank and ended up at the butcher's arms or something.
  11. We stayed at the Kolbe hotel, was a decent deal at the time and a good hotel, pretty handy if you want to be in the historic area.
  12. There now follows a political party broadcast by Ray Winstone to the Conservative party....
  13. Ah well. All good things come to an end, the laughing stops now that the rise of the new invincibles is about to occur and right on our doorstep as well. There'll be a new six-in-a-row soon enough when the new bloke gets his feet under the table. It was good while it lasted. [Sad face emoji here]
  14. Also add the ice cream is superb.
  15. I went to the coliseum with the bairn but it was that hot and we were both still knackered that not even halfway through we bailed out because she wasn't going to make it. The food was tremendous everywhere we went, I'd say you're definitely better not going when it's scorchio. We got to see very little really because it's hard to get around in a wheelchair, (originally was going to be just me and the youngest going for a a few days but the wife got jealous looking so I told not to be daft and just come along). Trevi fountain is lovely and probably even better if it's not chocka, didn't get inside the Pantheon but was still impressive and the whole place is dripping with monuments and views but what took my breath away was the sheer scale of some of the stuff. We were just around the corner from the site of the circus maximus so under the hill of the Palatine which made it seem even bigger looking up. I'd love to go back but fear it's just not properly accessible enough. Also the heat plus pushing a wheelchair up and down the hills. I was absolutely fucked!
  16. That time we were after Francis Jeffers from Everton but lost our and got Bellamy instead, this seems a bit like getting Jeffers. In seriousness, if he stays fit I'd have confidence in this version of NUFC getting it right with bringing in DCL. I get the feeling he might be a bit of a confidence player and coming here after the toxicity of Goodison these last few years might see him be an absolute bargain as it could be a huge breath of fresh air, see A. Gordon who looked full of fight there with potential but not what he has become here. Disappointing that we could be letting a diamond away when it's in our hands but he could end up being this decades Andy Carroll, you just don't know? I'm guessing the club have worked it out better than us.
  17. Matterface is the natural successor to Martin Tyler. (That's not a compliment).
  18. Nobody: ITV sport: "I know, let's get league one Sheffield Wednesday's relatively unknown German manager on as a pundit."
  19. Those jammy cameramen at international tournaments always manage to find a hinny when they're just casually filming the crowd. It's uncanny.
  20. I got to Roker Park four times. Where was this martial mackem attitude then?
  21. What are they playing? Doesn't sound like 633 squadron to me?
