Sven, my gran knows more about football than that fool. Brian Barwick Frank Lamard for being a talentless fat tw@t, same type of player as Nolan, only ever tries when there's a sniff of a goal. Steveeee Geee for moaning constantly over the smallest of things like a throw-in when he's clearly at fault, a cheat of the highest order. John Terry was a cock before the bridge stuff! ole solskjaer he should have been kicked out of football for that tackle on rob lee - unprofessional and dangerous. Any player ever to pull on a toon shirt an not try - Shola, Owen, Aprilla Freddie Shepard Graham Souness Lee Cattermole - the amount of players he takes out is shameful

I tought Smith has been our best player this season, espcially early doors.

He's got bags of pace, so would add that extra dimesion to the subs bench.

I'd say the fault wasn't in Boumsong or Coloccini, more the player alongside in most cases. Boumsong got hung out to dry by Roeder after partnering some lightweight reserve on the night. Coloccini looked awful alongside Steve Taylor who far from being the big dominant centre half used to run back to his goal line as a second keeper in the premier. Not surprised that the scapegoat was a foreigner considering Leazes is the topic starter though. So, somebody is shite and you blame his partner ? Typical NO bollocks. What have you been drinking ? Fact is, you are either a good central defender or you aren't, its got nowt to do with your partner. Boumsong was shit, and NO was absolutely full of posts by arseholes like you who insisted he was great, and more to the point slated the board at the time for not handing more and more money to the very manager who bought him to push the club on only for them again to slate the same board for not winning the premiership. The same people are now praising Mike Ashley for being the mastermind behind a relegation and a glorious promotion campaign, insisting he is"getting it right" when he is light years short, still, of achieving what his predecessors did. I think, personally, you should fuck off and debate how great Mike Ashley with your bum chums ie thickmick, macbeth, baggio, and all the other tosspots who can't bring themselves to admit they were spouting absolute shit for years. Shows you know less about football than business, quite an achievement.

His personal issue never made the press much, but it's clearly the reason he never settled. http://www.channel4.com/sport/french_football/dec19g.html

You guys are mad for suggesting we need a director of football. Dekka and CH work well together. We brought in a pacey right midfielder which we desperately needed. Also, in an interview recently Dekka said we needed to bring in a creative midfielder and a striker, which i agree with. Hope A tabliod free summer giving stability on and off the field and when results go bad, which they do for every club, CH doesn't become a target. IN - striker (Keane or Beckford and Fryatt), Midfielder (O'hara), Ledley (cardiff), Majewski (if they dont come up, +he's on loan at Forrest), Pennant (or other pace winger) and several other youth team players, Right Back (N.Clyne - Palace), Left back (Bertrand - reading/chelsea), pacey striker (Sears westham) OUT - Strola, Butt, Smith, Nolan. Depending on offer i'd happily let Colo go and try and bring in Wheater... but thats a bit pie in the sky at the moment. Comfortable mid table finish, pushing for europe while doing the double over the unwashed. Expect O'Hara, Ledley and Beckford. The later two are out of contract and Spud owe us cash for Bassong. Anyone one else will be dependant on departures. If i was betting on it I'd say the crowd turn on houghton around Sept/Oct, but thankfully Ashley will ignore them. Comfortable mid table finish.

THE CCC is going to be a walk in the park................
Phil replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
we're 8 points clear of Forest and 13 clear of Swansea with a game in and an a stupendous Goal Difference (+32 over Swansea) - and only 11 games left for them to make up the difference I wouldn't ever bet against us screwing up -its waht we're good at- but I struggle to see this "traffic jam" W Brom are our only competitors I think That and two teams go up. -
It would be nice if you asked direct questions rather than leading ones. Boumsong like most i thought a defender that cost that much "must" be good. But he'd only just been signed by Rangers on a free, so smelt a rat. And to be honest i was more bothered with the selling of Bellamy and dropping Dyer to the reserves. It was clear he was knocking heads, but Blackburn fans were openly mocking his appointment a few months prior. As far as his performances he started pretty well and if i recall didn't his wife have health issues in France so he never settled and had to keep traveling back and forth? Luque didn't stand out when we played against him, so i was amazed at the price tag, but then like Boumsong I was more interested in another deal (Owen). As for his performances, he was never given a shot to prove himself, so it hard to say if it was a lack of talent or Newcastle cripling his career. I think Fat Sam summed up my feeling quite well when he said he was shocked at how Newcastle bought foriegn players and just left them to their own devices to try and settled in the region. Where as at Blackburn they made sure they had a house near a player they got on with and a social life outside of football.

who do you think will cut it in the premiership?
Phil replied to Dr Gloom's topic in Newcastle Forum
Not sure he's likely to come for 15k a week. I doubt the wage cap will be 15k in the prem. I don't share your optimism, but let's hope that Ashley takes a pragmantic view on it. He's not going to be able to find a striker that will score goals in the premier league for 15k a week, without getting very lucky on someone young and foreign. I get the feeling he be looking at Beckford -

pennant and barton? may as well have dyer and bowyer back, the attitudes on those two He was the only availible winger with pace that I could think of. -
Maybe, but when has it been seen in a Black & White shirt? I don't doubt he could be our most talented player, question is will he be? How many chances do you give? He's played 6 games this season and 9 last season....! So it would seem you've never given him a chance. My guess is you think Smith can't do a job in the Prem, yet he only played 6 games last season!

Our squad isn't that bad and with a few additions could compete with at least half the Premiership; Birmingham, Stoke City, Blackburn, Sunderland, Bolton, Wigan, West Ham, Wolves, Burnley, Hull City, Portsmouth, Forrest, WBA GK: Harper, Krul, Forster (loan out) RB: Need 1st teamer, S.taylor (cover), Simpson (emergency) LB: Jose, need backup, kadar (loan out with clause to recall) CB: Colo, S.Taylor, Williamson (backup), kadar (loan out with clause to recall) RM: routledge, need backup LM: Jonas, need backup CM: Barton, Need 1st teamer, guthrie (backup), Smith (backup, or sell if we get 3m+ offer) FW: Carrol, Best (backup), Smith (emergency, or sell if we get 3m+ offer), ranger (loan out) ST: Need 1st teamer, lovenkrands (backup) A centeral midfielder and striker are must. O'hara and Robbie Keane would be my preferd options. Right back, left back (Bertrand - Reading/Chelsea), winger (Pennant) are also required to add squad depth. -
Who exactly is better?? he's our best player by a mile.

He's our best player by a mile, any talk of selling is daft.

Two months into the season! Sports Direct pricing? I prefered the guy when he was mute. -
I think there's a broken record skipping somewhere...

That's where we differ. you don't think he should answer questions posed by the press Definately not. I'm surprised you don't make the connection between his comments and Dyers strop.

Be blind to facts if you want. When asked by the BBC, 'Robson reacted angrily to Shepherd's announcement that his contract would not be renewed, claiming he was unaware any such decision had been made' ... and said "I need a dialogue with the chairman" When asked by the BBC, Shepherd confirmed "We have no plans to extend that arrangement." Sound like he was running his mouth off to me. how did the "BBC understand........" - do you think they were also running their mouth off too ? Fact is, a rolling contract is precisely that. Any party can give 12 months notice at any time. I don't see your problem, if the manager was told first and then later was asked a question by the press about it. When a journalist says "The BBC understands" it means they are about to say something they can't back up. More often than not its because its a rumour they've heard or are fabricating a storey. My point is that sort of information should not be in the public domain as it would undermind the manager. When Freddie confirmed the storey it underminded SBR and certainly fuelled Dyer not playing. So it seems your argument he backed the manager is flawed. Why didn't Fred he run his famous mouth off about Dyers' behaviour!? Are you familiar with the term lame duck? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lame_duck_(politics) [orginal post] http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...st&p=717564 My point was Fatty One undermind SBR by telling the press. Note the BBC quote Freedy, which means it's true!

He talked to the press, which is what underminded the manager.

hmmm.....well, I remember - at the time - the team being booed for finishing 5th in the league and a growing feeling that Sir Bob was starting to get things wrong and needed replaced. Still, I expect some people will try and deny this is true. I recall it very differently. Shepard totally undermind SBR authority in august just before the season was about to start by telling the press his contract would not be renewed. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/3943617.stm This culminated in Dyer refusing to start the season on the right wing, and SBR dropped him to the bench. http://www.bbc.co.uk/tyne/content/articles...le_result.shtml http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...obson-down.html This is also why the mongs in the crowd and on the board thought Souness was the strong minded person we needed. Rather than fining the player and telling him he'd rot in the reserves, he sacked the manager with no backup plan. Nice one Fred. This chain of events are where all my disdain toward Shepard stems from.
