Bank collapse would have caused more civil unrest and cost more than a few fat sweaty coppers claiming overtime? Everyone was covered upto £50k, there'd have been no civil unrest. Do you think they'd have all collapsed? I said in the other thread I'd have setup a national bank, which would give the government the ability to inject money into small businesses on a regional level and give mortgages out to first time buyers.

In general businesses has moved to India so they can use cheap employment, rather than avoid UK taxes, wouldn't you agree? So how would you stem this, by reducing the national wage to that of an average Indian? Please enlighten me. Under the last Labour government taxes have been very competitive with the rest of the Western world, whatever the Daily Mail might tell you. Also, didn't the Conservatives plan to levy non-doms as part of their manifesto? Not that I am necessarily against this, but it leaves your argument in as much tatters as your understanding of your payslip. Your fine with the 9 guys and a business sector goes to the pub, but not the reference to India. Feel free to change it to '10 goes out of business because the state bailed out banks wont lend any money at less than 18% APR' Regarding outsource, the issue has never been solely about cost savings. We are losing businesses because they have no reason to stay. I mentioned increasing the broadband speed to 1GB. This would create a media sector businesses would flock too. What? Are you seriously using this story as any kind of useful analogy? Why don't you give me some proper facts instead. Anyway, your chosen party is in power now so any problems are solved, aren't they? Here's a fact. Labour spent more on debt interest last year than the entire police force. Explain that logic please. Global recession. Next. Did you read my alternate analogy?

You see the answer should be that if everyone is happy with their ratio, the spare cash should be put into a jolly boys outting pot (e.g. an olympic games, update broadband to 1GB etc..). It can be then used if required to offset a credit crunch or bail out rover This is quite an old quote. It should really be updated to reflect our current situation, which is the bill gets put up £20 (i.e. to service our £42 billion debt interest) and the first 7 guys vote 8, 9 and 10 (10 being business) to pay it so 10 f**ks off to India, leaving Gordon to look silly and Labourites who never understood the system in the first place to blame economic conditions.

Thing that stands out for me is the 10k tax band.
-
Utter shite. The Tory's have agreed to phase in the 10k tax band, levying it against non-business caital gains tax. They have also backed out of raising inheritance tax to 1m. The 6 billion pound cuts will initially be made in capital expenditure as apposed to jobs - this is to avoid the NI rise. What does that mean, and how long is initially? Capital expenditure is spend on the future benifits. So the cuts will be on uncommisioned projects that aren't deemed essential. I've no idea how long cuts will go on for. I'd image they will be curbed from being too extreme by the Lib-Dem. We should know a bit more in the coming week.

But they're still going to give tax breaks to the rich Lower income families have never had it so good, 10k tax free.... With the debt issue I can't see there being any room for tax cuts and Lib Dem would have to sign off them. It's more likely businesses will get the first tax cuts to try and stimulate the private sector. This is certainly not the old Tory party, they'd have never concede as much.

His point is still valid. Scotland, Wales & NI aren't about the greater good. There's no way any minor government can work. Everyone will get what no-one wants, no wait Gordons gone.

think this will backfire for the Libs at the next election. Cleggs starting look as though he's power crazed. If I was Cameron I would come out tonight and pull out of talks, taking the high ground. Let libs and lab deliver the savage cuts and then clean up next time. Lib-Lab coalition will be one hell of a lot more palatable for liberal-minded voters than a Lib-Con coalition though, especially with Brown stepping down. The tories won't ever 'clear up' because as I have said they are past it, people want progressive parties. Get PR in and they will never command government again. Maybe they are your prefered parties, but a Lib-Lab minority government would be held to randsome for there last few seats. I can't see Lib-dem going for it as they'd lose any leverage they have.

William Hague Is that a serious reply? I listen to what politians say rather than reading a red top summary...

I wonder how much money is due in from former player sales and how it figures into this daft statement. Dekka has a way with words.

There's a massive difference between Voting Reform (i.e. voting for 1st 2nd 3rd favourite) and Proportional Representation which is based on percentages. Lib Dem wont take a minor tweak to the voting system. They want their percentage represented. Voting reform doesn't have to take the form you describe. Nor does PR have to be 'pure'. There's many different systems. I also think the Lib Dems may compromise rather than insist the latter. The Lib Dem are in a very powerful position and Clegg knows it. While Labour are desperate not to let the Torys make their savage cuts, so I think they'd be mad to go for anything too watered down, it really is a chance in a life time for them.

He didn't seem to have any issue taking up residence at No 10 without an election. Did Major? We're not the USA, we don't vote for a president. Two wrongs make a right in your book? You could argue it's unfair but there's nothing wrong with it in constitutional terms. Perhaps electoral reform is needed. I can't see Labour or Tory going for proportional representation as it would open the door for Lib Dem to be a real party.

PAYE 40%, NI 9%, Student Loan 9% = 58%. Then there's Council Tax, VAT, Petrol Tax, TV license, Road Tax, employer contributions (paid on my behalf) etc.... I agree things have improved in the last 10 years and I would vote for Labour again if they hadn't racked up £850 Billion in debt and sold off the gold. They are too reactive for my liking, they should have regulated the bank and forced them to lend. I doubt you'll find any first time buyers voting Labour.

Talking of myths it looks like you've swallowed that one. I'm not sure if theres been a boardroom meeting ever where, when a company has a huge new order on the table,or has a chance to move into a new market,to expand and develop, the chairman has turned round and said "but NI contributions are too high for the x amount of extra staff we'll have to employ, lets not bother eh?" Its a bare faced lie peddled by the business community in an attempt to gain favour with a potential new tory government. 23 businesses leaders including Sainsburys and M&S agree with me.... link The rise has to be absorbed somewhere, I'd be surprised if businesses don't pass it on in one form or another.

I thought he said NI and Wales were too dependant on the government for jobs. The Torys can only effect the public sector jobs, which will have no effect on the private sector. They have said they want to force the banks to lend to small businesses, which will create jobs. There are thousands of entrepreneurs waiting to create jobs. Whereas Labour have said they are going to raise National Insurance, a direct tax that will cost businesses and anyone earning over £20k. Sheer madness - businesses are struggling and more taxes will slow down hiring. So you think its ok for me to support a dole waller three years? There is a lack of good jobs in this country, but I will never be unemployed as i'll clean toilets if it puts food on the table. A labour myth that retards like you lap up. The current threshold is £350,000, which Labour has frozen until 2014. So if your family home is worth more by 2014 you have to sell it....! It's such a small amount of revenue, but dont let that stop your rant. Moreover the shortfall is 1.2 billion which will be leved by the nondom tax. The best policy of all the parties is the Lib Dems' £10k tax free earnings. So if your poor you should vote Lib Dem. He singled out NI and the NE when he was interviewed by Paxman. Fair enough. High state employement dependancy is not ideal, although i doubt the North East is anywhere near Northern Ireland and Wales. The private sector doesn’t exist in isolation. We'll have to disagree on that one - my understanding is they are different sectors. While there is some minor overlap, I can say for a fact that SME IT businesses rarely get any government contracts - something the Torys have said they will enforce. Not everybody on unemployment benefit is a dole-waller. Yes, but if you are unemployed for three years there should be some form of intervention. I’m not going to rush to judgements but you do sound like the quintessential I’m all right jack fuck everybody else type who could do with a year living on benefits in Cruddas Park to appreciate what a selfish retard you are. Pretty much everyone votes for who is best for them, why should I be any defferent? I work around 12 hours a day and pay 70%+ in tax, Labour have taxed me to the max. The country is in massive debt and pension my keep shrinking. So you'll have to forgive my lack of empathy.
