  1. They asked me for an extra £400 last week for 2008-2009. They'd added my p11d (benefits) as salary, when it's already on my PAYE. The only record you need is your P60 (total income). If you changed employers and are in the high earnings tax band, there's a good chance both employers used up your tax allowance.

    What money have Liverpool spent?

    Internet Speed

Sounds like the delay is in the initial connection. There wont be two internet connections as I'd first thought. First thing to do is check someone else's PC to see if they get the same initial delay. If they are, no matter what is causing it the only way around it is to browse the web via another network. RDP somewhere else or setup a vpn to somewhere else.

Accessing webpages also use download. Is the delay seen on encrypted websites (HTTPS)? try watching a video https://www.youtube.com I'm surprised youtube and internet streams are slow and direct file download aren't. Are other PC's having the same issue? If other PC's are having the same issue, then it would suggest as you first said the uni has two internet connection, one for webpages (HTTP and HTTPS) and another for everything else. There's a few ways around this. The best solution would be to setup a VPN-tunnel. But the easiest would be to use remote desktop onto a computer on a different network (home maybe).

    Internet Speed

What direct are file download speeds like (try downloading a service pack from Microsoft)? The internet connection at a Uni wont do traffic shaping and or port throttling as it's not of any interest to them. Especially given the quicker speed is in favour of torrents. If you are using FireFox or IE, try Google Chrome - its designed for speed.
  6. that must have been some half time team talk. Never would have got that reaction in 2009. Both Barton and Nolan really wanted the ball back after the first pen. Not many players would give that commitment 4-1 down.
  7. The figure is irrelevant. Number of bodies and quality is what counts. Re-signing Jose is as important as signing as striker.
  8. 1. So what if Liverpool enquired about Carroll on Friday. It wasn't until late Sunday that Newcastle raised an eyebrow. 2. The 3 year deals are up in the summer so money will be spent and Pardew has form in picking good forwards. 3. Most of the players we sold after relegation were bought via instalment, so we are still due money in.

    Ben Arfa

Neither Ranger or Best can play in the lone striker role. They are inexperienced and have a habit of hiding in games for patches. We should look to win games in midfield, its clearly our strength and there are few teams that have a better midfield than; Ben Arfa, Barton, Tiote, Jonas If Ranger and Best turn out to be turd. We should look at playing Nolan or Ireland before Ben Arfa.
  10. And me. Furthermore, if I ever required my professional assistance, I would be extremely reluctant to actually keep him alive after knocking him out (for which, my preferred induction would be that of Vinnie Jones in Lock Stock rather than one involving drugs). Although I might not have much choice in the matter - he has the kind of body shape, neck and, I'd wager functional capacity that gives anaesthetists nightmares. The fat fucking cunt. Do we have an option to recall Routledge in the loan deal? Both Xisco and Routledge have been named in our updated squad list, so they must have. Loan rules say they can't be recalled in the first month. So in theory Routledge could be back 21st Feb. I doubt we'd take up the option as there's said to be a nice payout if QPR get promoted.

    Barton

It makes sense to waits to see the direction of the club.
  12. Here's a list of all the players sky has listed as Free Agents; http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=ch...0e90dfa1e4c769a
  13. He was expected to be back in January, but when he returned from Dubia there was no improvement. So we sent him to a specialist on Thursday. Who is reported to have given him the all clear.
  14. Not the most ethical thing to do, but we should be looking for players who can buy out their contract. Players to be be free agents in the summer and have fallen down their respective pecking order, may also be a better option. As the clubs can release them for free and we can pick them up.
  15. Febian Brandy? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Febian_Brandy
  16. The emergency loan system is in place to protect the integrity of the competition and ensure all teams can field proper team. Looking at our bench last night it should be an easy sell. We are desperate for a forward because of an injury, sounds clear cut to me. Technically we could say Smith is also an injured forward.

  18. Fatty 1 vs Fatty 2 vs Fatty 3 thread, no thanks.
  19. Public floatation wouldn't work for anyone, if it could even be achieved. An IPO would struggle to generate enough interest, certainly not at the level Ashley would want. However, I said in the NUST meltdown thread that Ashley is massively missing a trick here. He could easily fix the lack of communication and cash in on the spectacular failed NUST hype by setting up a sort of members club with voting rights on minor things like ticket prices, seating changes, work in the community etc... and running a system similar to the 10 downing street petition system, where anyone can post questions/statements that if enough members sign up too would get an official response.
  20. I thought he won more than his fair share. I even said at one point Jonas cant speak jive as custard was winning a lot but couldn't direct them his way. Ranger can easily be as good as Carroll. While he's not as good in the air, he's not far behind and is a lot faster. His cameo in the Liverpool was miles better than anything Carroll did in his first season. I think most people write him off because of the two sitters he's missed. But goal will come as he gets them with easy in the reserves. What a load of wank. Anything he did win in the air was knocked on to no one in particular. The lad has a bit of pace and, from his record in the reserves, a striker's instinct, that's about it. He still lacks the intelligence and refined technical ability to score in the PL. I'm not writing him off but from the stories coming out recently about his attitude, he'll never make it unless he becomes more disciplined and realises that his natural talent simply isn't enough to cut it in the Premier League. Carroll started out exactly the same. Not really his fault and easily fixed. Its the ability to read the game and win the header that counts. Glad to see someone else recognises he has a strikers instinct. The shot late on in the six yard box springs to mind, mainly because its not the first time he's turned quickly to shoot. I know some people will say I'm over selling him, but Carroll showed none of his early promise - the way he slipped pasted Dawson, and amount of balls he won against Liverpool that he had no right too.
