We bid 2.6m for him back in Jan before he joined Lille, our tight fisted antics catching up with us. http://www.teamtalk.com/newcastle-united/8444153/Bastia-say-they-have-rejected-Newcastle-s-offer-for-Florian-Thauvin

He was loan cover for an injured player, but the players back now. So he wasn't going to get any game time
-
We got relegated that season
-
Sorry, it was directed at the two post before yours...

If you believe we aren't playing him to ensure he doesnt get injured, you are as deluded as Kinnear.

back on topic; First and second last sentence suggest he's on strike. All these French players, it was only a matter of time! http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/yohan-cabayes-newcastle-united-exit-5785

The owners a c*nt because he doesnt spend any money and has no ambition. There are no lies, just quotes out of context and misinformation. No idea what you mean by keegan spitting his dummy out, but he did sue us and incase you missed it - he "claimed" he left over Nacho Gonzalez. Whereas everyone know it was the lack of ambition. Selling Milner and buying no-one (the rumour was Schweinsteiger and Barry).

Bump it if you want. Pretty boring mind. http://www.toontastic.net/board/topic/30848-top-10-mike-ashley-lies/?p=927050 Sadly only the last point is valid. Known with hindsight. It might be Ashley does all the other stuff to distract the fans from the last and most important point.

They offered him an extension, just not as long as he wanted. We parted on good terms. They offered him a take-it or leave-it contract at Xmas, when Willie McKay tried to haggle Llambias withdrew it and refused to put it back on the table. Enrique spat his dummy out when Pardew bollocked him for saying on twitter he was injured. They actually dont lie that often (if at all). The issue is they dont spend money and do daft things that wind the fans up.

Tied to a piece string leading him to a helicopter...

Did the club blame the player in either of those deals? Nolan wanted a long contract and the club wouldnt give him one. No-one really came out of that as greedy or desperate. It seemed like good business for all parties. Like wise the Carroll transfer request was never worded to say Carroll pushed for a move (as you imply), but that he was happy to leave - i.e. not being forced out the door and all parties are happy with the deal. Pretty sure the wording was along the lines of "as soon as the club new he was happy to leave". There was certainly a high degree of arse covering by requesting Carroll hand in the request, but dont under estimate how big a deal it is for the player (close to a million in bonuses I reckon).

There's a line in the sand and going on strike is crossing it. Massively! Pardew knows Cabaye will come back with his tail between his legs as it's a world cup year. So he's protecting him. Personally I'd like the club to be upfront. If he is on strike I dont want him playing for us ever again. But selling him would be giving him what he wants, school yard tactic should be retuned in kind. Let him rot in the reserves.

Cabaye courted man-u back in June, so I can well believe he's on strike. The deafening silent from his side speaks volumes. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11678/8763244/ We shouldnt protect player who are disrespecting the club! If he is on strike then we should take a leaf out of Liverpools' books. Tell the worlds he's on strike, Arsenal are to cheap to meet the asking price AND Cabaye wont play for the club again until he apologises to the fans, players and club staff. If a player wants to leave they have to hand in a transfer request and have the clubs reasonable terms met (financial and replacement lined up). This must be his last world cup (he'll be 32 at the next), so let him rot in the reserves for a year, the power is with us!

While I rate Krul, there's loads of good keepers in the league already, so not many teams would be interested.

Shane Ferguson tearing apart international opposition

I thought Pardew improved a lot of the fringe players like Perch, Simpson, RTaylor and Gutherie. They were pretty awful before he came. Of course this is offset by selling routledge and buying obertan. -

Totally agree. Thing is, even if we do reinvest the 20m - Ashley will have got away without spending for the second summer in a row! Some will even give him praise for spending the Cabaye money!

My guess is they are in France to talk to Cabaye's agent. Probably putting pressure on them to hand in a transfer request. I wouldnt be surprised if they swing by Lyon as they look like missing out on Champions League- 10610 replies

My guess is all our targets wanted big wages. Remy carries the least risk, if he's crack we send him back. It also means bent and gomis know were no longer desperate, so can't hike up their demands. Also, if remind covers us until next summer gomis is available on a free

I can't see him dropping cabaye, sissoko or tiote
