Really? Didn't see that coming...
-
Yeah, forcing us into taking a much lower offer in process.
-
That must make me thick, as I think without the Europa league we'll do quite well.
-
I dont think we'll be involved. Kinears comments about have a top 10 wage bill were quite telling. Watching Tom Inces goal yesterday I live in hope
-
To be fair, we've taken Europa league out of the fixtures list. So we will improve dramatically, via less games (fewer injuries) and a full week to prepare for the next. Also, I highly doubt any of the mid-tier signings will be better than Remy.
-
Only the fella on strike and its a bit harsh to say all match goers are thick. Maybe they are more intelligent than you and know you have to experience the lows to fully appreciate the highs.
-
Cabaye will have played the mentally not in the right place card, which in my opinion is as good as going on strike. To be fair, I'd have accepted it for the City game, but not west ham....
-
Shoulder injury was the official line coming from man-u. If Arsenal/Cabaye's agent hand't leaked the story a few hours before man-c, we could have also peddle that lie and saved a lot of agro. I have to say I'm quite surprised you would advocate cheering Cabaye. Players have been vilified for a lot less - Jenas' gold fish bowl remark springs to mind. Here's my view why on Rooney was cheered and Cabaye booed; 1. Moyes successfully sued Rooney over his autobiography, so it is safe to conclude Rooney is unhappy working under Moyes. Man-u have always stuck to the "should injury" story... and the man-u fans cheered him to show him he had a reason to stay. 2. Cabaye wanted to force Newcastle into selling him on the cheap. The club have been upfront and gave Arsenal a reasonable asking price. Arsenal lost interest and Cabaye still didnt play against West Ham. Pretty different situation. Rooney has a grievance with his manager and wants out, where as Cabaye wanted to progress his career (and screw us over on price in the process). And it's the part in brackets which warrants the boos.

Well it's not going to be on .co.uk The quotes are from his press conference, so i know they are real. this is the most telling line Why does Cabaye have a position that needs to be understood if the club are the driving force in selling him?

Did a quick search and found this. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2403551/Newcastle-fine-Yohan-Cabaye-going-strike.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490

I know most people like to paint the club in bad light at every opportunity, but c'mon there is no logic behind the myth Ashley told Pardew he can't play Cabaye. Especially when you hear nothing from Cabaye, and Pardew saying things like "the decision was easy as it was out of my hands" and "if he leaves, bye bye". If that's not proof enough, what about Cabaye not getting into the French squad? Deschamps said it was because of what is happening at the club. Surely, Cabaye would have broke his silence to say he's was being "forced" out the team by Evil Dr Ashley! To date I dont think the club has ever publicised fining a player. I know Barton said he wasn't paid while in prison, I dont remember the club mentioning fines at the time. Also, Ranger constantly turning up late must have resulted in fines. And the bizarre way Routledge was hurried out the club, I vaugue remember Pardew saying something about attitude. but nothing about fines.
-
Rooney never went on strike. I dont mind players wanting to leave, however there is a proper way to do it - hand in a transfer request. Like Parker & Dyer did. It may not feel good, but you have to respect their decision. Going on strike to try and force the club to accept a derisory offer is bang out of order.
-
He's not been charged, he's on bail. Massive difference. Even more-so when you consider three people were released on bail.
-
Booing sends a clear message to the player and manager. While it is lame, it's also effective. Cabaye and Pardew will have got the message. I dont want him at the club, well actually I want him stuck in the reserves and miss the world cup.
-
How else can they express their thoughts on his behaviour!? Without booing we'd still be watching Fat Sam
-
He's pretty useful coming off the bench when we're winning and need to slow the game down.
-
Both pretty average. I'd rather have Gouffran coming on when they are tired, than strolla.
-
3pts is a massive step in the right direction! Remy seemed to give the team much more balance.
-
Remy's starting.....!!!
-
Try to keep perspective. Norwich lost to 10 man Hull, WBA have lost Lukaku, Stoke will struggle. Lots of players come into the league, most will be closer to Bryan Ruiz (56 games 7 goals). We clearly need another forward, and if we get him, we'll be in a much better position than most.
-
Don't shoot the messenger, that'll be the clubs stance. I added smith largely for his wages. QPR and Wigan are a lot better than the teams coming up, plus stokes weak efforts in the transfer market and change of manager/style will make the bottom end a lot weaker. I'm not trying to justify the clubs actions, just highlighting the thought process. The lack of activity is a joke, and its no surprise the lackluster has made its way onto the pitch. Hopefully Remy ans another striker will give us the boost we need to get our season going.
-
Check the squads. It's better. Ba's goals are the obvious concern, however Remy should get us 10 and we are still looking at Gomis. Goal OUT: Harper IN: Defense OUT: Simpson IN: Debuchy, Mbiwa, Haidara Midfield OUT: Guthrie, Perch, Smith IN: Anita, Bigirimana, Sissoko Forwards OUT: Ba, Bent, Lovenkrands IN: Remy, Gouffran Cisse played out wide because Ba scores goals.
-
The clubs stance last year was keeping hold of the squad that finished 5th was a successful summer. Pardew blamed the bad season on too many games, which to be fair is the same as saying too small a squad. I can see the clubs stance this year being, we have the same squad as 5th and the same number of games. Don't expect too much transfer activity. Striker to replace Ba at most. Cabaye leaving will happen if arsenal lose to spurs on Sunday. Question is, will he be replaced. They dont really have any excuses.
-
Is he really that good? Where he play out wide or in the middle?
-
makes sense he'd come to us 6 months later then...
