As shite as the lack of signings has been. Remy is a lot better than Anita, and will walk into our first team. So this year is a million times better than last year. Llambias has served his purpose. Not spending last summer was a massive fuck up. This year less so (less games).

He'd buy a business not give to some cowboy investment bank. 20% is closer a return he'd expect. Currently he's loosing money.
-
Ashley tries his best to divide the fans; this guy brings us back together...
-
Relegation cost us 25m on top of all the player sales.
-
As he's the owner of the club and the loan, they'd just be combined. If you paid off your taxi loan and saved up £500 for repairs, your taxi business would carry a value of 1.5k (taxi, plus cash in bank). There is light at the end of the tunnel - as his 300m investment is giving a woeful return, so he'll either regain interest or sell. There's no way he'll keep 300m invested to just plod along. Any extra money (like the recent TV hike) will be sucked up by the fan expectations.
-
Value of the club will be the same with or without that being paid off. Club would cost 180m to buy with and 280m without.
-
Is there a tax benefit to paying Ashley back the money - i.e Would the club have to pay tax on profit, but Ashley can remove without paying tax and in theory loan back without paying tax?

I watched Remy play quite a lot for QPR and he is a top premier league player. I said in another thread, I dont think we'd have got him if we'd have pushed for the option to buy.
-
Here's the forwards we realistically could have been in for; Bony, Sessegnon, Carroll, Wolfswinkel, Odemwingie, Hooper, Lukaku, Anelka, Borini, Helenius, Kozak I'd take Remy over all of them. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/transfer-centre

It's difficult to see how Remy will help Cisse stay on side or hit the target, but he should give much better balance to the team, which should improve everyone.
-
We lost none of the better players and less fixtures, so it's not all doom and gloom. Cisse's form is a bigger concern than any signings.
-
i was under the impression the Gomis deal came very close, with agents fees being the stumbling block
-
Googled it and still have no idea what that means
-
I thought we did put a few bids out, Gomis and Aubameyang?

Some people are reading far too much into Pardews statement. http://www.nufc.co.uk/articles/20130903/statement-from-alan-pardew-summer-transfer-window_2281670_3446911 The fact it Pardew said "some", suggests not all.
-
Carr wanted Thauvin last January (available for 3m), but he chose Lille over us. There's not a chance in hell we couldn't have got him back in January if we really wanted him. He'd just been sold 6 months later for 12 million! What more do you want?

Leave me alone, it'll help me sleep.

When do we actually get paid the TV money? I know we buy upfront, so is it plausible from a a financial perspective we are waiting for it to be in the bank before spending?
-
Woah... easy there Mr logic. What's this middle ground you speak of?
-
Agreed. Sissoko was all set for a pre-contract, but we moved it forward. I vaguely remember his club having a moan about it. http://www.espn.co.uk/football/sport/story/190169.html

January windows are fairly productive for us. worth noting Cissé & Debuchy were both summer targets we put off until the January window. 2010: Williamson, Routledge, Simpson 2011: Ben Arfa*, Ireland 2012: Cissé 2013: Debuchy, Mbiwa, Gouffran, Haidara, Sissoko *made permanent

He'll have handed out business card the the wrong number on
-
No doubt Pardew will be left to fend for himself. Hopefully a journo will go in armed with quotes and do their job properly. Second summer with no signings, nice to see we learn from our mistakes.
