Bit angry that they include Rooney who is way off the pace at the moment, hasn't really scored this season and not in form, and also Kevin Davies who is ancient and has only scored twice, yet they don't even include Andy Carroll in the squad. Talk about looking to the future. Its like one step forward (including johnson and young), and two steps back (Rooney and Crouch).

I think we have heard this optimism before. The summer transfer window was so, so successful, we will be happy to finish 4th bottom. Yeah, right. It was successful in that we managed to bring in some quality players for as little/free whilst still been owned by a tight fisted twat. Most teams wouldn't of managed to sign who we did with no money. So we didn't spend £100+ mil like Man City, but we added some players who can help. I would take 4th bottom btw. And build into next season. All I want right now is to remain a premier league team, any more is a bonus. I think we should wait and see in Jan what happens instead of speculating now.

I think people are over-reacting again!! We were supposedly told that we were not buying any players in the summer and we did. No capital outlay, and oh yeah, there was. Come on, someone close this thread, and reopen it AFTER the Jan transfer window.

If it was this bad, and Newcastle didn't think he was worth it, trust me he'd be back on the first flight to France. Why would Newcastle waste their time (rehab will take a lot of backroom staff's time) and money? They wouldn't FACT. We know that everyone at the club thinks highly of him, and CH especially wants him permanently. CH will have gone to Mike Ashley and said that he wants him, and MA has said he can have him on loan for a season, with the option to buy if good enough. That way, we don't gun for MA if they sign him and he's another Xisco. Its a win/win situation for the club and very very canny business. I would be suprised though if after all this, they send him back and wave goodbye (unless he can't play properly anymore)

i would love to see him playing for us again but its the same break that alan smith had for man u....and look what happened to him! or what did'nt happen to him In my opinion, I think the chances are very high of us signing him. Usually when a player on loan gets an injury of this seriousness, he ends up been sent back to his own club for treatment/rehabilitation and doesn't return to the loan club. But instead of him returning to Marseille, he is recieving all his medical attention here with Newcastle, and will also go through rehab with us. Now why would we as a club go through all of this, if we then end up sending him home? If CH is still around, then I expect Ben Arfa to be an official Newcastle player in the Summer (if not agreed earlier). What he said, the treatment/physio etc.. won't be cheap so I reckon we would send him back if we had no intention of signing him. The other thing I just thought is that if you were Marseille, would you want another club to nurse YOUR £5-6mil player back to fitness if they have no intention of buying him and just ship him back to them? They would of taken he back to France if they weren't sure Newcastle would buy

How good does Tiote seem to be though? Robbed today

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6424051,00.html CH seems to do something right, then couple of things so wrong. What has Raylor done so wrong that he's not getting a chance? Perch is true shite and yet he keeps playing him. Raylor scores a scorcher from 30 yds against Acrrington, then scores a killer free kick at Stamford Bridge. I would of thought that he earned his right to a start.

Nah, keep routledge instead of Lovenkrands and let Barfa wander behind Carroll and help the two wide players out. Biggest problem of playing Barfa on the left is that when he wanders, he leaves a massive gap. Rather he was trying to slip Carroll through from the central area.

Will we buy/loan a striker/forward in Jan?

Tell you what we miss, is a bellamy/martins -esque player with ridiculous pace up front. Because who is trying to get behind the back four? no-one at the moment -
completely agree Ya, thank god someone else said it too.. More shocking than seeing Stoke win it was seeing Tiote being subbed.. He was deadly.. Totally agree too. I think CH needs to take a risk and play all of Jonas, Barfa, Routledge. See what happens. Best time would be against Man City. Most people have written us off in this game, so try it now and see if it works. Drop Nolan, let Barfa have a wandering role behind Carroll, wandering left and right. Also keep Tiote and Barton in the middle, and this might be contraversial, but I would give Campbell a shout at CB instead of Williamson and see if how he manages. Matches like this where we're expected to get nothing is the games to try different things out. There aren't enough cup games regular enough for that.

Routledge wasn't shit! What game were you watching? His pace alone causes problems, so he doesn't cut defences apart like championship, so what? He works so hard, beats his man most times and gets back and defends.
-
I'm so fucking pissed off right now. What the fuck is Perch and Nolan doing on the pitch?????? Nolan's a fast bastard that couldn't even outrun a snail and perch does one thing right, and three wrong!! Whats the problem is Raylor?
-
He needs to get on the training ground and hit 100 quality crosses before he starts again. Because he can get into the position, but then produce bugger all. At this point in time, Routledge can provide more. And if Jonas graces our presence on here, id like to say, 'your a right winger playing on the left, so cut in and hit the bloody ball'
-
Exactly what I was thinking. Carroll back tracks enough to act as Nolan, plus is quicker lol How many times we seen big Andy in defence? Scrap Nolan, and double our aerial threat
-
Someone told me there was someone upsetting the harmony in the dressing room, and it was hinted that it was Given. Bitter about been at Newcastle for so long and not winning anything.
-
Who do you think should start?
-
Strongly feel that after this season, there won't be room for Smith or Nolan at the club.

Bit early, like. haha just getting prepared for our win You know, that's the funniest thing; I look forward to our games now. Even tonight where I know it won't end well, I still sit in anticipation. Sat supposed to be working, and all can think about is that 19:45 ko. Same every match day. :-D
