  1. But surely Elliott is better than Harper right?
  2. Why is it Elliott plays in cups and in Europe, but doesn't make the bench in the PL?
  3. I agree with his record, but he's too 'fragile' for prem games. Needs to bulk up if he wants a future here
  4. I hope Jonas plays a central role and its Marveaux and Obertan on the wings. Jonas seems to have forgotten how to run of late!
  5. Might be common knowledge or a pile of pish, but I heard a rumour that there is a massive divide between the french speaking players and the spanish speaking players. I heard it was also very school-like cliquey, only mixing on the pitch when they have to. So maybe this isn't so much of a surprise if this is true.
  6. I read he's leaving to replace Sturridge as the back-up striker. And Ba says he's not driven by money. Disgusted in him tbh
  7. Was at the QPR game and he looks completely finished. He kills the play most of the time as his legs don't look up to it anymore. When he stops the ball, he allows defenders etc to get into position. We need someone on the left that will run at the full back. Would it make more sense to play Jonas at LB and put Santon at LM? Allow the link-up to continue, which does work, but 9/10 Jonas holds the ball up and allows Santon to run on.
  8. Honestly? If Ba is away in January, then he needs to be dropped and allow the players who will be staying to build some form together, which means Cisse back up top in a 4-3-3 where he was a massive hit. But I think he will actually drop Cisse and start Obertan and/or Marveaux.
  9. There was a bloke behind us against QPR who was moaning that "Pardew hasn't a fucking clue" when he made subs, inc Jonas off and Ameobi and Obertan on. Followed by Obertan doing more in 10 minutes than Jonas did all game, and Ameobi eventually scoring. Knobhead - people moan when he doesn't change it early enough and then moan when he does make changes. I said at half time the game needed Obertan and Marveaux to (hopefully) add creativity to an otherwise lacking midfield.
  10. Chronicle reporting Ben Arfa is a doubt of this game. Mind games from Pardew I think, make out we're a wounded animal but really we're going to bite citae's face off!
  11. I don't believe in this "he's young and needs breaking in slowly" bollocks. Bigi is twice the player Jonas is in the central 3 midfielders role. Get him on and let him play. He has shown he is more than ready.
  12. I would rather see him drop Jonas, Simpson and Williamson and lose. Because at least we would know he has acknowledged their lack of anything in this team. I'd like to see: Krul Tavernier, Perch, Colo, Santon Anita Tiote Bigi Ben Arfa Marveaux Ba
  13. Jonas and Williamson are absolute shite. Thanks for the years Jonas but on your bike son!
  14. I've got 2-1, Ben Arfa to score first
  15. I want to know what the music is, quite catchy actually!
  16. This sounds stupid but we are better finishing 2nd in the group as opposed to winning last night. Imo there seems to be stronger teams unseeded. Imagine topping your group and then getting Inter. I just have a gut feeling Pardew used last night to decide who is going out on loan, and the result was not important in the slightest, like he knew we would be better off in 2nd. I just hope Bigi doesn't go out on loan.
  17. Nile Ranger, Sammy Ameobi, Conor Newton and Shane Ferguson all start tonight.
  18. 1) Chelsea - Went for the game this season. Not a European ground - thought it was fairly unimpressive. But good vocals from our fans and a good day out 2) Inter Milan, Ajax, Napoli, Benfica 3) Metalist
  19. Confirmed so far: Ajax (Holland) Anji Makhachkala (Russia) Atletico Madrid (Spain) Bayer Leverkusen (Germany) Benfica (Portugal) Bordeaux (France) BATE Borisov (Belarus) Borussia Monchengladbach (Germany) Chelsea (England) Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk (Ukraine) CFR Cluj ((Romania) Dynamo Kiev (Ukraine) Fenerbahçe (Turkey) Genk (Belgium) Hannover (Germany) Inter Milan (Italy) Lazio (Italy) Levante (Spain) Lyon (France) Metalist (Ukraine) Napoli (Italy) Newcastle United (England) Olympiakos (Greece) Rubin Kazan (Russia) Sparta Prague (Czech Republic) Viktoria Plzen (Czech Republic) Zenit St. Petersburg (Russia) Couple of questions: 1) Has anyone been to any of these team's grounds? Experiences good/bad? 2) For away day experience (not progression), which would you like to see us up against? 3) Which team would you want to draw with progression in mind?
  20. That's what me and my father are doing. From a "wanting to win it" mentality, I hope we get someone crap in the next round. From a fan hoping for a good tie for my first european away game, I hope we get Inter so I can cheer the Toon along in the San Siro!!
  21. Birigimana, let marv's play an advanced role and Anita to play a Cabaye sort of role
  22. The only thing Jonas is crucial for atm is a ball-ache. He hasn't provided anything this season imo
  23. God knows how many times I've seen 'pardew out' on different threads, I only want to see how many are for and against. Such is a crime?
  24. I think he should stay. I for one think he is a good manager for us.
