Gemmill, has the Cook and Barker Inn still got those giant blackboards with millions of specials on? loved that place but haven’t been there for 4 or 5 years. We had great lunch at The Coach Inn in Lesbury (on the way to Alnwick Railway station) a couple of years ago — it’s like a lot smaller version of the Cook and Barker. They had a few signs up saying ‘no kids in the bar’ though which is weird because it’s a small place. The restaurant in the evening was fully booked for days. Because of a delay we only got there at 3pm but they were very accommodating — most places would have said their kitchens were shut.

and I thought that Geordie Shore was embarrassing.

interesting read that link. thanks. I didn’t know Dalglish was into the agent business. yeh, adds a different slant to the Carroll transfer with those mysterious agent shenanigans.
-
yeh probably Joey’s agent stirring it up as he’s going through contract negotiations. but as Liverpool don’t have anyone who can cross the ball, I’m sure Carroll would point out that it was Joey who helped him look like he’s worth £35m.

I'm sorry, I think you're lost, this is a Newcastle United message board. really, you mean you don’t have faith in the way that they’re running our club — why could that be?
-
well now we’re safe I’m sure the club will be able to plan any transfers and new contracts well in advance and not cock up another transfer window.

yep, Robbie Savage played him out of the game. Yes, Robbie Savage!

MO was doing well for us then he missed several months because he broke his foot and when he did come back — and yes he seemed determined to play for his country in the World Cup — he then knacked his knee at the WC which had to be rebuilt. It was such a bad an injury that we got millions in compensation from the FA and he has never recovered from it since. To treat him as though he was a Marcelino is OTT, if like other players he’d made a few cringey PR comments via the media about how he loves the NE and the fans you’d all have loved him.

whoever it was, rather than paying her off and getting her to sign a confidentiality agreement, he paid his lawyer loads and stuck her in front of the media world. good taste in women, but clearly a total cunt, and his wife is clueless, so far...

I got a Canon IXUS 300 HS a few months back, it’s mainly a high spec point and shoot compact camera that also has HD video, a bit bigger than a a mobile phone. It suits me as I would never bother carrying 2 cameras or anything bulky. When you’re buying a camera watch out for battery life, zoom, good low light recording and add in the cost of memory cards. Mega pixel size is often a sales con — get one with a good sensor.

mate of mine gave up his season ticket — that he’d had for 20 odd years — when we signed Bellamy as he reckoned that he was totaly shite. I tried to tell him Bellamy was pacey and had great movement but he just kept going in a hissy fit every time he was mentioned. Didn’t take long for him to see the error of his ways though, and has never lived it down since. SBR did buy some shite players though.

Newcastle United v Manchester United

ManUre look weak at right back theses days. I can see Jose and Jonas causing them some real problems there. -
The big benefit of it is that should things go tits up then your creditors can only take the assets of the business rather than coming after your personal property. and your accountant can write off more tax and charge you more money for the privilege.
-
Owen was good for us until injuries changed him as a player. The injury he got with England was so bad we got millions in compensation from the FA. He’s clearly not recovered even now.
-
or even that we had cover for Carroll — albeit kak — but no cover for Enrique?
-
WTF, since when was Johnson anywhere near being the best full back in the premiership?
-
for all of Ashley’s kak methods of running a football club, people need to realise the difference between him being worth a billion and having a billion pounds.
-
now on PPV via Primetime TV (who?!), Sky 433/480. I was looking forward to the DeGale vs Groves fight but that’s PPV too. and you wonder why boxing become a marginalised sport over the years.
-
the club had turned off the alarms to save eleccy.
-
cheers SG, interesting read, makes you think who would make up all that shite. was there not any mention that night of how Joey is getting on with his drink problem?

in this annual report (or any previous) has there been any mention of a pay off to get rid of Dennis Wise, or is he still on the payroll? -
Agreed total joke, does he miss the game against us now? no ManUre have a cup game before they play us. Unless he appeals and loses. so he’ll be fired up when we play them.

Sir John Hall June 2009: "When I first came into the club, I knew nothing about running a football club, but luckily we found Freddie Fletcher, who had huge experience of the business from his time at Glasgow Rangers. "He guided us through the minefield, so we did not make the type of mistakes Ashley has made. Sadly, I don't think Ashley has been able to call on that type of advice. "What you also have to acknowledge, though, is that Newcastle's decline had begun before Ashley arrived at the club. "Some of our managers have been disasters and ruined the club long before he came in." Ashley still needs a Freddie Fletcher now, this turning off light switches and escalators is light years away from what the club should be doing. So is sticking Sports Direct logos all over the place that’ll supposedly tempt someone in the future to do the same and possibly pay big money. That mind set is setting the club further and further away from being competitive. If we couldn’t quite afford to pay football’s top paid players we had a few seasons ago, we now can’t afford to keep players earning (circa) 40% less than then and in a smaller squad. — Says it all to me when you consider TV revenues have increased significantly. -
No they're a jock company. The club authorised use of the banner then did nothing to advise them where they could put it. It shows and highlights what an absolute joke of an operation the club is off the pitch. We are a big fuckin organisation, and we couldn't organise anything, it's a shambles. fair enough, but OP stated that the club had refused from the outset.

Pointless and uncalled for generalisation going on there. edit; You're seriously calling the ticket office staff scum for not going against someone who is more or less their employer? Are you on the wind-up? Do you think you'd be in a job for long if you started criticising your employer when talking to customers? To be fair pin point the specific generalisation. To be fair you don't go to games so it's not like you'll know the specifics of all of the above. Our police are nearly all arseholes, the way they treat away fans is absolutely disgusting. Every game you see them getting chucked out for doing what most of Level 7 does without even being checked for. Standing. I've heard some horror stories from away fans about our police, and our stewards, fucking hell. A few seasons ago about 20 seats from me, I saw a steward physically assault a toon fan 25 years older than he was, built like a bouncer, most of them have shit attitudes, really shit. The ticket office towing the party line is one thing, be arrogant jumped up mugs, which I've had loads of times is quite another. I was told because we ALL misbehave in Level 7 that is a contributing factor to it disbanded. So if they can fucking generalise so can I. I'd love to know what the msbehaviour was as well. so you want to boycott Cruise Clothing who had nothing to do with taking the banner down, their advertising goes into the coffers of YOUR club, NUFC have to protect their sponsors advertising space as that’s where they get their sponsorship from. And you want stir up a boycott of an innocent business that sponsors your club? — try upping your medication lad. Shut up you cheeky old mug. One game against Wolves. Tainted by association I'm afraid, and it wasn't even covering the full ad. Their clothes are shit and pricey anyway. I was being serious! try reading through your comments again. as well as sponsoring NUFC, aren’t Cruise Clothing a NE company anyway? Regional loyalty on the wane?
