Peterborough United 2-0 Newcastle United (League Cup R3)

why are people putting Vuckic down as a forward? I know he came on as an injury time sub when there was no one else, but he plays left midfield normally — at least whenever I’ve seen him play for Slovenia U19s. -

after what happened with the fans backlash after Keegan, Ashley would be bonkers to appoint another local legend. -
top of my list — Martins.

signed Permanently. you’re right, so he did!

I was well impressed by Paul Anderson (on loan from Liverpool) for Forest against Sheff Wed, when I watched the highlights.

he’ll be even more cocky once England have qualified for the World Cup, sportswear retailers expect a huge boom in sales before, during an after a world cup. Last time he did a shares sale was after posting huge increase in business after a world cup year and laughed at the city investors who didn’t realise that it was a ‘spike’ due to the World Cup only and wasn’t going to be repeated every year. The share value plummeted and he bought the shares back for buttons. -

imagine how muck flak they’ve got away with because of the ‘up for sale’ charade. No wonder they’re always giggling together when caught on camera. -
heavy shit to go through, congrats in the end though.

“In July 2005 Italian club Roma were banned from signing players for one year over the controversial signing of defender Philippe Mexes from French club Auxerre. However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport later ruled that FIFA call a halt the ban at the end of the winter transfer window.” not necessarily written in stone then. Damn.

bet they just pay their way out of this ruling.

with Shola out for a couple of months, Lovenkrands unfit at the mo’, and Carroll with dubious fitness, it’s a no brainer, get him in. The only thing that worries me is announcing it to the world first and alerting other clubs.

: But we can still do loan deals. Eh, I thought you couldn’t, only emergency loans outside the transfer windows, i.e. ’keepers. -

I presumed that as the Lovenkrands deal was announced at 5pm by the club that that was their contact to the media about the deals done. I was shocked that the club actually knew how to communicate with the media. -

I’m shocked that we’ve not signed any players on loan. -

Tuesday's 5pm deadline means nowt as...................
Giraffidae replied to accadacca's topic in Newcastle Forum
IF we do hit injury problems after Tuesday, all I am saying is that players can be brought in on loan to bolster the squad - so everyone shouldn't get all overly despondent if no one is signed before then. ————— We have to face facts - loan deals and out of contract players are all we will going for. ————— Ashley wants promotion on the cheap, and he knows he has a great chance of achieving this. He is still losing around £400k per week at present, so anyone who thinks transfer fees and big wages are going to be paid out whilst he is still in charge is living in cloud cuckoo land. I would guess that Lovenkrands wage demands are stopping the deal going through at present. so we can’t afford the wages at the moment — but all these loan players and out of contract players will want paying, thus adding to the loss making. So that’s the great plan then? -
that says more about what’s going to happen next than anything Chris Hughton has been told.
