I think the key to improving is that you get players that will get into the first XI and they (eg Burn) take (eg Dummetts) their spot. Swapping backup for backup gets us nowhere.

Kelly is a weird one. I think he has potential to reach England squad (as. CB) but we have Botman first choice at LCB then Burn seemingly second.

Hall is a stretch. He played last season for us. It’s a technicality he is a new signing.

Kelly is the replacement for Burn. And he is probably a better player overall but Burn is playing well this season.

From a career prospective i would seriously be thinking about it. England job is vacant. He could easily be out of a job with a bad run of form.

If I was Howe I’d think about walking. His stock is high at the mo and he has been the victim of other people not doing their jobs. Top 4 is a million miles away and unrest will start to creep in. (If we don’t get anyone in)
