Darkie is a more British derogatory term for black people, and in my view and in the view of others I've discussed it with equally as bad as "nigger", maybe even more so purely in my opinion due to the way the word "nigger" has almost been commercialised. Oh dear. In America "Nigga" is the commercialised term whereas "Nigger" is derogatory. Nevertheless, I agree that "darkie" is also a racist term and should be in the same category. It's not so much that as it irritates me, the level of hypocrisy it brings out in people is unreal and I reckon a lot of the time it's just because the media shove it in your face, you're ''supposed'' to commemorate 9/11.
