I had Meet the Spartans on in the background yesterday. Possibly the worst film ever made.

I think traditionally all the pubs were so hot and all next to each other that you didn't need a coat - especially if you got a taxi there and back. Now they all seem to be spread out (not that have been out on the lash for ages in the Toon - so that could be a lie). Im coming back up next weekend and plan to go straight out on the piss after the Liverpool game so will have scarf/hat/coat on. I'll probably look well out of place!

I donno like England v Brazil and Brazil v Argentina were only friendlies and sold out. They're really pushing the boat out financially and are pledging air conditioned streets, I don't know how that will work like. There are less people in Qatar than in Tyne and Wear + Northumberland, where are the crowds going to come from. the only way qatar are going to get / have got it is by throwing money around. If they get it, it will purley be on the basis of them representing the Middle East & Arabic countries, but before it gets to that they would have won it with the financial capabilities they have. why should the middle east and Arab countries get it ? I wouldn't be too disappointed if it went to Spain/Portugal. I've never been to a World Cup so i'd be tempted to go. It'd be a pretty good holiday. Euro 96 had a lot of empty stadiums. I can remember I went to watch France v Bulgaira (or was it Romania) play at St Jimmys and it looked only half full. I suspect it might be different for the WC.

Ive gone for Campbell and Taylor. They are in possession of the shirt now and colo/willo (who I both like) should only get it if these 2 start playing badly.
