  1. Aye, Brussels is pretty boring. Nice beer though. I've been to Brugges as well. Lovely little place but you can walk it in about 15 minutes !
  2. http://www.travbuddy.com/widget_map_confirm.php?id=6207658 12% Meenzer in the lead
  3. Q. Are we in a better footballing state as when he took over? A. No Therefore he hasn't done a good job.
  4. Dont think he played in the 70s for us.
  5. I'd personally sign Bendtner as well. Give him a strikers role and he'll bang in a fair few.
  6. Well, this has descended into the normal farce. Good work.
  7. CT upping his windup/clueless game after the new kid on the block (Polish Nick) steals his crown.
  8. To do that you need to hold onto the youth you develop really. Arsenal team from the Bolton game... 53 Szczesny - Youth 03 Sagna - £9m 06 Koscielny - £8.5m 20 Djourou - youth 22 Clichy - youth 04 Fabregas - youth 08 Nasri - £12m 14 Walcott - youth (Arshavin - £15m) 17 A Song - £1m (Chamakh - Free) 19 Wilshere - Youth (Ramsey - youth) 10 Van Persie - £3m Loads of youth, £50m worth of signings. Newcastle team from Blackpool... 26 Krul - youth/Free 02 Coloccini - £10m 03 Jose Enrique - £5m 06 Williamson - £1m 12 Simpson - £1m 04 Nolan - £4m (Perch £1m) 07 Barton - £5.8m 18 Gutierrez - £5.2m 24 Tiote - £2.5m 11 Lovenkrands - Free (Ireland Loan) 23 Ameobi - Youth (Kuqi - Free) £35.5m to build that team, and hardly any youth.....it could have included Carroll and Bassong. Amazing to think there's only £15m difference in outlay between our two teams. Very interesting. And a little depressing. I'm not sure there's any youth in our Blackpool team we'd care that much about selling.......Krul is a work in progress and Shola is, well, Shola. Carroll was the jewel in the crown really. Walcott wasnt youth. He was signed for about £6m - rising to £12m.
  9. Eh? We have done this with practically every youngster possible. Taverner Edmundsson, Forster Donaldson, Kadar, Tozer and Lua Lua (off the top of my head ) have all been out on loan this season.
  10. I agree and have a few theories about it. I just think Welsh people have such little identity, and what identity they do have is ridiculed, that they feel they have to make the biggest noise to get noticed. They're right to be fair. What doesn't help their cause is their attitude towards the English, they'd be third world without us, perhaps fourth world. They wouldn't be able to feed themselves, what else is there in Wales apart from coal? Sheep? Massive generalisation again there. Gary Speed was ok.
  11. John Oster? Fucking Hell. Absolute shit player.
  12. He is 2 players away from the title. A vidic type player & Tiote.
  13. Pretty sure they used to sell root beer over here.
  14. Tiote is going to walk today. I have a feeling in my bones.
  15. Hoy a one my way as well if its juicy.
  16. Not sure why Tevez has been left out of peoples thoughts. He has more or less dragged Man city to where they are now. The diving prick Nani has been superb as well. Bale was superb first few months of the season. Apparently the players vote 1/2 way through the season. I'd rather it went to Charlie Adam than Scott Parker. He has had similar influence over a nearly-relegated team. He can play a bit of football as well.
  17. Dalglish was a horrific manager for us. Probably worse than Big Sam. All he needed to do was make us a bit tighter. He somehow decided to replace quality players with donkeys. An abortion of a manager and doesnt get the appropriate stick from us in my opinion.
  18. If Everton can get something out of Man U at OT (unlikely, I know) but it would be a hell of a run-in. Man U have to play Arsenal (a) then Chelsea (h), sandwiched between CL games. I cant see anyone but Man U winning the title - but you never know.
  19. I'd ideally lob all 3 of them in if I wasnt playing 4-4-2, but Arteta would be useless/wasted on the left. Much like Tiote/Nolan would be.
  20. Goals for a defender is a misleading stat really. Look a Jolean Lescott. Scored a bagful for Everton and then got a massive transfer to Man City where he has been utter shite. Jagielka is better than him.
  21. Ameobi is better than Beckford! I mean i dont really rate Beckford that highly but he's better than Ameobi. Gotta look at Baines assist stats I posted earlier in this thread... he's the best attacking left back in europe based on his stats this season, please go look at it as am sure you'll be surprised. However i'll give you credit for the team you picked as at least its a nice blend of the 2 teams rather than being a completely one sided view. I dont completely agree with it, but its a good attempt at being impartial which i applaud. Nope not from Merseyside originally... its a long story Yes, i'd have Shola over Beckford any day of the week. The guy looks more nervous in front of goal than Neil Lennons postman. Stats can be misleading. Ian Harte was probably the best left back in the world a few years ago if you are basing assists and goals on a full backs job.
  22. Aye, he is capable of playing there as well. Moyes has always said he'd end up a CB though.
  23. The majority of players that played for us in the championship were actual Premier League class. It was just one disaster after another that got use relegated. Mainly the management disruption, selling our top players & the players at the time not giving a fuck which all led to poor form.
  24. I don't know where are all this Baines love comes from. Decent player but i'd worry about him if he played for England regularly. Plus he takes penalties which obviously helps the goal tally. Enrique is top class. You name about 3 CBs there as well and Colo is better than all of them so that wouldnt work. Ameobi is better than Beckford. If I had to choose a EverToon team (see what I did there!) ------------------Howard Coleman-Jagielka-Colo-Enrique Barton-Tiote-Arteta-* (Guti/Osman) --------------Ameobi-Saha * Jesus, not sure who could play here. Toss up between these two. Rodwell is going to be class in the future but it'll probably be at CB for Man Utd. Are you from Merseyside by the way Andy?
