The five players mentioned are clearly the best at the club and losing any of them from the team is a massive blow but recently I've felt we missed Barton most as our attack becomes extremely one dimentional without him. Simpsons definitely worth a mention like. He's not close to the others mentioned but I've been really impressed at how well he's upped his game. I think most of us thought he would really struggle but there's not been many occasions (lennons equaliser does stick out as the one) where he's came up short. When you can only remember one mistake off the top of your head then you know that player has had a good season. I could name more Vidic mistakes than Simpsons. Still, I think he has just been solid more than anything. He had an absolute 10/10 v Arsenal away aswell.

Shola is too good for the Championship imo. He'd walk it. You cant really argue with Best at all this season in my opinion. If he puts the ball in the back of the net at a ratio he has this season then he'll be alright.

A bit harsh on a young goalkeeper. Its incredible that Perch has got this far up on the ladder in his career. He is possibly closer to Non-league player than even a championship player.

We are the 2nd top goalscorers at home this season with 36. Man Utd : 40 Arsenal: 30 Man City, Chelsea & Bolton: 28 Quite impressive. Perhaps our strikers aren't as bad as made out to be. I mentioned in another thread but Shola has been knocking them in quite consistently the past 2 seasons now. Best was in a rich vein of form and lovenkrands gets 1 in 3. Not that I am saying we dont need re-enforcements or anything but they aren't doing too bad.

Ameobis goal scoring record over the past 2 seasons as been excellent. On a side note, Guthrie had quite a good game on Sat.
