Gym in the morning was the only way forward for me. -

Its quite a life commitment to exercise that much, but if you enjoy it then its all good. Each to their own. Its better than staying in and watching big brother etc. I used to play 5-a-side twice a week, train once and play an 11-a-side game on a Saturday. I'd also get to the gym once or twice a week as well. I'm not going to lie, it was nice looking in the mirror. I didnt really watch what I ate so much but the exercise breeds a healthier diet. I've had to retire from football & most sports now (at the tender age of 31) but I've been in shape all my life so as long as I don't eat chocolate cake for every meal I dont think i'll get that fat ! -
Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Holden McGroin replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
Regardless whether or not he was aware of the boards intentions when he signed, he has done an excellent job on the pitch so far. We seem to draw a lot of games which that extra bit of cash could well make the difference if spent on the team.- 10610 replies

That about sums him up. Not the worst player in the world and wont let us down. Probably a mid-table player and thats exactly what we are .

Whats your aim at the gym Gemmill? 5 days a week is pretty obsessive. -
I'd take Hoilett if Blackburn went down.

Obertan: Earths' gravity is no match for him.
Holden McGroin replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
I didn't see the whole game but I did see him lose the ball then do fuck all about getting it back. He lost it in the centre midfield then threw is arms up in the air and turned his back. The Blackburn player just ran into this space with the ball. Criminal to be honest. Ideas above his station. -
Do you think we'll get that striker in Jan?
Holden McGroin replied to Park Life's topic in Newcastle Forum
Yeah. Not exactly, but there'd be less expectation. Isn't that the point? Its the same as the fullback position. We needed a player, we sold one, got one in, and still need one more. Only difference with the striker situation is the player we sold was for an absolute fortune and was replaced for nothing. If you believe (as I do) that we're operating on a 'one out one in' principle, then Carroll was replaced by Ba. Which means unless the likes of Lovenkrands, Ranger or (please God) Ameobi get transferred in Jan, there's little prospect of seeing a new striker this season. In the summer Smith, Guthrie and I think Loven's contracts are up which gives more headroom. If we were serious about kicking on we'd recruit a new striker, CB and RB but presumably that would shoot the wage bill/budget to shit so I doubt we'll see anything in Jan, especially if the current rate of progress is maintained. Which is a crying shame. Honestly we're a couple of players away from being a decent side. Yep. I agree. Unfortunately I also agree that we have a 1 in, 1 out policy. Colo will be gone by next Summer imo as well which will be big boots to fill. -
That's vile. It's going to be a great ceremony one day when it all comes down. On a side note, I was sitting in the gallowagte/east stand corner & couldn't see any sport direct signage (bar a bit of the temporary shite next to the away fans). Every cloud and all that.

If we spent £8m on Demba Ba then there wouldn't be that much expectation on getting a new striker. Likewise if Cabaye/Ben Arfa cost £10m as well. It's all perception in terms of the players we have. The core of the team looks solid to me. Of course Fatty should have strengthened even further. I'll probably get slated for this but I think Ba will come good & Best will be decent squad player. With Ben Arfa & Marveux to come in then we can still go up a notch. The huge problem we have at the mo is full backs. We desperately need 2 quality ones in January (Also need a good CB for cover). Left back especially. Jonas is doing an admiral job helping out Raylor but if we have some quality there we could well see a more offensive player (Ben Arfa/Marveux) add an extra attacking dimension on the wing. At the mo Jonas has to play. -
I doubt The Yak would have been able to turn any defender to get into a couple of the positions Best did.

Looked superb today. Could well be a player that could gets 15 goals this season if he gets the service.
-
Yakubu was massive as in fat? Or the only player that put in a performance? You should sign Robinson when we go down. He's a good player. Both overweight. I don't rate Robinson anymore. Ever since that fuck up in Croatia he hasn't been the same.
-
Still gives the ball away way to much for my liking, he's had his best game today so far though. 69/77 passes completed today. He gave 1 poor ball away towards the end but won everything and controlled the midfield. Warrior. Edit: plus he set up a goal. Having a go at his passing today is a bit of a joke IMO.

Billy. Blackburn were piss poor. We didn't need to get out 2nd gear to win comfortably. If we had taken our chances it could have been 6+. Massive improvement needed if you want to stay up, Salgado needs to retire. Hoilett looked dangerous. Yakubu looked massive (along with Salgado). Robinson got a good ovation from our crowd and seemed generally pleased with that.

He needs to cut out the silly flicks. He also always attacks across (pitch) the full back. He needs to mix it up and go on the outside. These are things that can be worked out on the training pitch. Could do with putting himself about bit more swell. He is a fairy for his size. -

That's a bit rich from you! -
Just got back from the match. Agree with most of them apart from Jonas. He worked his bollocks off and really helped Raylor out. Never gave the ball away as well. Saylor might be worth an 8 as well. Pretty much faultless and set up a goal. Best was neat and tidy, created a goal and did superbly to get into the position to miss his 2 sitters. Tiote was immense today. Back to his best.

If I was Kean I'd be putting Hoilett v Raylor. Especially after the bumming SWP gave him.
-
Started off well, but then it almost looked like he had a script. I noticed him smile/laugh several times as well which is a first.
-
Going along Joey Barton route now. Hope you weren't one of those slagging him off in the other thread.

If that's true then But it's ok as 'The King' is back.

I'll be there so put your money on 0-0.
