  1. How many games might they have NOT have won if he buried some of those ? On a side note, I read a stat last week that the player that had given away possession most in La Liga this season was Lionel Messi.
  2. Average height of Barcelona's team is 5ft8. Yep. And they are all special players.
  3. Leazes on the sauce again. The mods should think about putting him on an IP ban between 23:00 and 07:00 .
  4. To make it at that height you have to be VERY special.
  5. Jussi Jaskelainen is quite underrated. Im surprised he never got a shot at a bigger club. Jussi fucks up a lot nowadays, he concedes bad goals a lot used to be really good though Just been looking him up. Signed for Bolton 14 years ago. That is great service.

  7. Average age of grandparents in Boro is 23.
  8. Sczenay (sp) looks good to me. He'll be top quality in a few years.
  9. im surprised he is missing a lot of chances. Normally deadly. The article reads like a knee-jerk reaction to me. What problem? They are about 2 points off the top of the league!
  10. I spent a couple of hours watching this on YouTube last night. Genius. Most of them had the same story. There was a disabled guy with cerebral palsy who got caught out as well. Nee offence, but no-one can surely get coerced by him.
  11. I agree, and if Dalglish doesn't win something (or get to a domestic cup final) he'll go along with the expensive flops; Adam, Carroll etc. He just doesnt seem to fit into they way the play, whereas here he was the main point of our team and we built our play around him I think thats the bottom line really. We played to him rather than with him.
  12. I've always thought Steven Taylor is a potential top class central defender. He needs to play in a team that is more successful, alongside better players, to improve. People knock him for his "pointing" etc, whatever that is supposed to mean. Is it just criticising for the sake of it, because they think someone else raises a point and they feel they need to agree with it ? My view of that, is you need leaders at the back, I don't see any problem whatsoever in pointing and directing. In fact, its a big plus. He's no ball playing defender, but he's a solid stopper physical player who stands up when the going gets tough. It depends what you want from your central defenders. Williamson can't lace his boots. If playing alongside Colocinni is good for him, it only re-inforces the view that playing alongside better teams and players with more technical ability is good for him, to be correct. The point being that a "ball playing defender" while advantageous in some circumstances, does not change the fact that a defenders first priority is to defend, and Steven Taylor is a natural defender, and a hard physical one who can more than hold his own against quality strikers, especially in the premiership where it is a physical game. Yep. I've been in the pro-Taylor camp so feel rather smug at his recent form. He'll no doubt make a mistake soon which will put him back in the shit category, in some people eyes. Every defender makes mistakes though. We can over analyze some of our own players sometimes (this isn't just directed at Taylor).
  13. Except he hasn't been sent off since 2005? Did you just make that up by any chance Aye, I laughed at that. 6 years without a sending off. Thats around half of an average footballers career.
  14. Souness is one of the best pundits around. Dreadful manager though.
  15. He'll have to take a massive pay cut to stay. Having said that I dont think he'll get £80k pw elsewhere even if he is on a Bosman. Not worth the risk of him finding out though as Colo is one of the most important members of the team.
  16. Its quite a life commitment to exercise that much, but if you enjoy it then its all good. Each to their own. Its better than staying in and watching big brother etc. I used to play 5-a-side twice a week, train once and play an 11-a-side game on a Saturday. I'd also get to the gym once or twice a week as well. I'm not going to lie, it was nice looking in the mirror. I didnt really watch what I ate so much but the exercise breeds a healthier diet. I've had to retire from football & most sports now (at the tender age of 31) but I've been in shape all my life so as long as I don't eat chocolate cake for every meal I dont think i'll get that fat !
  17. Regardless whether or not he was aware of the boards intentions when he signed, he has done an excellent job on the pitch so far. We seem to draw a lot of games which that extra bit of cash could well make the difference if spent on the team.
  18. That about sums him up. Not the worst player in the world and wont let us down. Probably a mid-table player and thats exactly what we are .
  19. Whats your aim at the gym Gemmill? 5 days a week is pretty obsessive.
  20. I didn't see the whole game but I did see him lose the ball then do fuck all about getting it back. He lost it in the centre midfield then threw is arms up in the air and turned his back. The Blackburn player just ran into this space with the ball. Criminal to be honest. Ideas above his station.
  21. Yeah. Not exactly, but there'd be less expectation. Isn't that the point? Its the same as the fullback position. We needed a player, we sold one, got one in, and still need one more. Only difference with the striker situation is the player we sold was for an absolute fortune and was replaced for nothing. If you believe (as I do) that we're operating on a 'one out one in' principle, then Carroll was replaced by Ba. Which means unless the likes of Lovenkrands, Ranger or (please God) Ameobi get transferred in Jan, there's little prospect of seeing a new striker this season. In the summer Smith, Guthrie and I think Loven's contracts are up which gives more headroom. If we were serious about kicking on we'd recruit a new striker, CB and RB but presumably that would shoot the wage bill/budget to shit so I doubt we'll see anything in Jan, especially if the current rate of progress is maintained. Which is a crying shame. Honestly we're a couple of players away from being a decent side. Yep. I agree. Unfortunately I also agree that we have a 1 in, 1 out policy. Colo will be gone by next Summer imo as well which will be big boots to fill.
  22. That's vile. It's going to be a great ceremony one day when it all comes down. On a side note, I was sitting in the gallowagte/east stand corner & couldn't see any sport direct signage (bar a bit of the temporary shite next to the away fans). Every cloud and all that.
