Its clear we need to move away from the 4-4-2 formation. It has started happening the last few years at club level. You just dont get the flexibility and optionst in a strict 2 banks of 4. Still, I agree. People are moaning now but quarters was always going to be our limit in my opinion.

He was woeful this tournament and deserved to be hooked before Wellbeck. He didnt look sharp at all. He is still is class though. He has been playing in the spotlight for 10 years now and will have ups and downs. Hopefully he isnt completely burnt out.

We missed ball retention the whole tournament. Carrick and Wilshire would have helped the cause quite significantly in my opinion. Players like "brave" Scott Parker aren't needed so much at this level. We need players that use their head. Technically we aren't on the same planet as a lot of the better teams in Europe. Shame, but its something we just have to accept. We also didnt look fit. Our energy levels were poor from the 1st match. Edit: Scholes would have been an asset as well.
