Yep. Played well for me as well. Jonas is having a shocking season. As is Danny Simpson. The defence arent getting the same protection as they did last season and with that arent performing as unit as well. We need fresh blood in January to spark the team.

Cineworld have just bought Picturehouses. Hopefully it wont impact too much on the Indy scene. I've got a Picturehouses cinema 300 yards from my house so very handy.

True. I guess he hasnt had a decent run to prove himself though. Its worrying that Ferguson and Sammy have jumped ahead of him in the pecking order though. It would have been nice if his shot had gone in on Sat. A nice confidence boost. He has very good technique and will want to pass it around. Cisse needs to find his form as well. Worrying the decline in form . Maybe Cisse and Ba just cant play together? They take up very similar positions. Ba is absolute quality though and we'll be in the shit if he leaves in january.

I think there is an element in truth about some of it. With the players we have (especially with the first 11) we should be retaining the ball and not just hoofing it. This is obviously something that is practiced on the training ground and to be fair got us lots of results last year. The problem is that when we dont get results it looks awful. We dont have any players that play in between the lines (well be have Ben Arfa but he plays on the wing) so its quite a static 4-4-2. Plus its difficult to get players in advanced positions with the long ball. I'd be tempted to start Marveaux next game but its pointless if he is just going to be bypassed. Southampton is a big pitch and nice surface which we should get a lot of time on the ball.

There is very little ball retention and the long ball drives me mad. He have 3 very similar strikers and need to mix this up. Whether we put Ben Arfa off a striker or not. I'd prefer a much more patient passing game with getting the ball up field on the deck and waiting until we have attackers in good positions. Pardews direct game paid off last season but it looks terrible when it it doesn't. I think we may have been found out & have a few keys players missing/off form. We have 3/4 centre midfielders who all like sitting in the centre circle and dont link up in the attacking third. We actually miss Danny Guthrie a bit (sad as it is) when Cabaye isnt around. At least he could get the ball moving.

We have no ideas up front. Too much hoof. Cant see Pardew suddenly playing sexy football though.
