My question was though. Are the players so shit they cant improve on possession? if you have more of the ball you're likely to create more chances so i dont buy into your theory. Just look at Brighton. They've completely changed their philosophy and mentality from a similar defensive setup to a possession and more exciting style. This is clearly the manager as their personnel hasnt changed dramatically.
